Newcastle never looked back after they qualified.

Premier League winners or Champions League winners?
CB Fry replied to SaintBobby's topic in The Saints
I'd pick the Champion's League one but only on condition that our 1976 FA win is removed from all records and everyone's memory. -
Uefa Cup. Winning a trophy all day long. I'd take the League Cup or FA Cup over top four too.
-
...and the same again for the next ninety nine months, presumably?

Pochettino targets Champions League spot next season

They're not rock botton of the third division, they're "still amongst the stars" if you take this forums favourite quote. -
Pochettino targets Champions League spot next season
CB Fry replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
There seems to be a deranged obsession on here about what "we" should "aim" for, coupled with the usual "shoot for the moon" rent a quote. When it doesn't matter what "we" (people on here) aim for. People on here saying we should go for fourth doesn't actually mean the team will then more likely finish ninth. People on here saying "try and stay up first" won't actually get us relegated. I refer you to our chum Lighthouse who despite his sneering and blustering about how finishing ninth and winning a cup is "obscurity" and "wouldn't want many seasons like that"....is now suddenly saying that would be fine for us next season after all. Oh, good. Me too. So what exactly are these people drivelling about? -

Hats off for completely belittling Swansea's achievement ("hovering in obscurity"? "don't want many seasons like that"?) while at the same time patronising Swansea's fans ("I'm sure they're delighted with that"). Little old pathetic Swansea getting all excited over winning a trophy, getting into Europe and being ninth. Bless them. Easily pleased. Well, I'd take "too many seasons like that". I'd take ten seasons in a row, right now, not even including a cup win. Aint many other clubs our size have done that. Probably Fulham are about the only one I can think of, and they've had relegation scraps anyway. The arrogance and sense of entitlement sweeping through this forum is pretty chilling actually. -

It must be simply awful for them. -
Well I was right about Nigel. He was good enough to be still in work. And Jay Rod, Cork and Morgan? I thank you. Got the season the wrong was round though.

Swansea win a trophy at Wembley in March and they've had a meaningless second half of the season. Fu ck me. -
I'm very proud of my country. And I'm even more proud that I don't come from or live in a Catholic country. For that reason, St George's Day can suck my co ck.

I think Lowe was the lightening rod for hatred back then, meaning Arry got off lightly, with plenty happy to parrot the "redknapp had his hands tied" rent-an-excuse (Funny, no hands tied at QPR, though). No one ever chanted about Guy Askham during Branfoot's tenure. He got it all. Not undeserved though.

Hey everyone! It's Dalek's new trolling routine. He's got bored of his "we're-sleepwalking-to-relegation-I honestly-think-we-need-43-points-honest-I-do" routine so he's now trying a new little twist of just mentioning the word troll in every single post. Oh, he's good. This one really is funny and loads better than yo-yo strategy, and we're-going-to-finish-17th and all those other classics that he deathlessly grinds into the dirt for months on end. Well done on another trolling triumph. You are, like, sooo funny.

The reference to where's me washboard made me laugh out loud. Good work. Nice to see Bournemouth in the Championship. I will keep looking out for their results as I always have.

So, just read through the last couple of pages. And happy to announce Pap as the undisputed winner of the argument. He proper rinsed the rest of you. Well done Pap. The Boston Bomb was definitely, like, all made up and stuff. I mean, look at that guy and that photo and that. All pretty conclusive. Anyway, Pap wins.
-
Anyway. Wigan to go down. Villa are a proper big club that I quite like. Wigan are just a nothing club who don't belong in the division.
-
ART is not a troll. He's just nuts. You, however, are a troll. Do your yo-yo stuff again. It was, like, soo funny.

Where did I say he was looking for a "quick sell" then? Vectis making sh it up shocker. You started griping about the "want it now" generation. Everything that Cortese has done since he's been here is testiment to that generation. If you want to "string together" a " coherent argument" I wouldn't start by moaning about a "generation" that our chairman embodies to the core of his being. Keep trying. One day you'll understand.
-
Nicola Cortese, sacking two successful managers because they weren't delivering enough success quick enough for him is clearly not part of the "want it now" generation. Clearly not. Christ.

It's not an extreme situation. It has no relationship whatdoever with Pompey. None at all. You comparing the family of that eight year old boy with the St Johns Ambulance being owed a few quid sums your mentalness up perfectly. I see you have yet to retract your callous and sick comparison to the Boston bomb. You should be ashamed of yourself. PS - Don't mention Justice because you don't want Justice. You just want Pompey to suffer over and over. Which is fine, but please don't build it up as "justice". Don't flatter yourself.
-
I think now would be a brilliant time to sell up for them. We're at the high water mark for them to maximise their return. As a dispassionate advisor to the Leibherrs/MALI/whoever it is I would say sell and get the hell out of English football.
-
Oh this new trolling routine is simply hilarious. Really, it's brilliant. Have you worked out next season's rib tickler yet or do we have to wait until August?
-
Seriously, we won't be. We're safe.
-
The only feeble minded people are those that think that all journalists, like, make it all up and stuff. But this is a fairly typical utterly clueless contribution from you, so well done on maintaining your standards.
-
You can be relied upon to be hilarious time and again. I don't remember saying anything about my thoughts on whether "justice" has been "done". But you compared Pompey to a bombing that has killed a child and haven't yet retracted that sentiment. I have nothing more to add.
