SR will not muck about. If we are clearly off the automatic places come December I am sure they will act. The investment and the squad is top two, they are not here to be bimbling around in 5th to 8th. I remember arguing with a couple of people on here when Jones was appointed and them telling me that SR will stick with Jones for the long term, even if we got relegated Jones would still be manager. Obviously this was nonsence and the same will apply here. Russell Martin has been employed to get promoted this season. Not to build a long term project, not to create "green shoots" or "build a foundation". Get. Promoted. Now. He's got pressure he's never had before, but he's got players and resources he's never had before. Let's hope we look back on yesterday as the wake up call and the turning point.

In the world of bloody nine players on the bench he was literally there to make up the numbers. We'd have needed injuries to CBs to see him on the pitch today. If I was Martin and just seen Holgates performance after a week of preparation I would not be replacing him with someone with less than a day of preparation.

Listening to Tony Mowbray's post match interview, and the chat they had with MoTM Clarke after the game showed that managers and players can easily work out a game plan to beat us. We will win sometimes because we have good players, but we ain't going to be top 2 (maybe not even top 6) when we are incapable of keeping clean sheets and our style of play is piss easy to predict and counter. Martin talks a lot about the time it will take for people to "learn" the system, but the system resulted in Swansea having the second worst defensive record in the Championship last year. So is it worth learning?

You know we signed him yesterday, right?

We are not finishing top two with this amount of goals conceded.

A lot of work to do in January.

I think the think to remember is that medicals is that it is not strictly pass/fail. It's a risk assessment and part of the process of handing over liability from one club to the other. So Ross's medical I guess would have allowed our physios to assess his injury and make a call on his likelihood to play again. And now it's our problem not Sunderland's. Not a million miles away from having the survey done on a house you are about to buy.

Russ didn't involve Che last week because his head wasn't in the right place. Difficult to imagine he would be anywhere near the first team today. Probably needs a little break with Scotland to come back focused later in the month.

Fantastic window. Delighted that we indentified the truly critical people and kept them involved. Well done Saints.

Really pleased that pretty much all of this turned out to be right. 👍👍👍

And he'll get stick as a Newcastle player which I think he'll love.
-
The suggestion was we would buy/loan someone else on the wing, i didn't think we would. We didn't. Let's hope Sulemana takes his chance for his sake and ours.

I got an awful lot of confused emojis and people falling over themselves telling me I was wrong when I said last week that Fraser was the Tella replacement. But turns out I wasn't wrong.

I reckon KWP might stay now.
-
This is the kind of shit that happens because the club prioritise making wanky introduction videos and interviews rather than just annoucing that he's been signed on a 3 year contract or whatever in a three line tweet.
-
He'll be proven 100% correct whether we do or don't sign anyone, so for that reason I am fully on board.

That is the Gakpo journalist from last year, right? Remember the name I think

This is the famous twitter technique of "predicting" something everyone already knows is happening, just slightly early so you can make out you have inside knowledge. Whoever this person is don't know shit. It's obvious that Stewart is signing.

Wolves should be going for Ings rather than Che.

Football insider full of shit.

It's all gone quiet. Has it fallen through?

Johnson is a back up full back for a Premier league team now, don't see why he'd drop a division to be a back up full back for a Championship team. He's the KWP replacement or not coming IMO. KWP is going to happen bloody quickly and out of absolutely nowhere now, 12 hours to go and not a single link of him going away for the entire 8 weeks of the window. But still feels like he will go.

Big signing for them
