  1. Ipswich can lose the next three on the spin (so 5 games without a win) and would still be above us. They've got a lot of points on the board already, I think at the very least they are well on track to still be second come Christmas.
  2. Disappointing goal from a football purist perspective. There were at least eight or ten more passes between the full backs/centre mid/keeper/centre backs that were on there. Far too frantic trying to get it forward and ruin the possession with scoring a goal so early. They need more time on the training ground learning the system.
  3. I listened to that this morning and thought exactly the same. Interesting the panel didn't really pick up on it. We need to score first because it feels like they'll do us on the break if they can hold us off for an hour.
  4. The IEA think Brexit is great, who could have possibly predicted that. Have they finished their report into the location of bears taking a dump yet?
  5. I read the interview in The Sunday Times earlier - interesting read, and he came across very well. Despite the management speak he is pretty grounded.
  6. We are not the plucky underdog in this league, fingers crossed we can scrape victories at Millwall and Hull. Whether you like it or not, this season we are the Barca or Bayern of this division, alongside Leicester and Leeds.
  7. Agree, at least we have seen some improvements. Ross Stewart could solve our last big issue, turning possession dominance into score sheet dominance. Still on track to achieve the absolute bare minimum from the start of the season. We will finish top six. I don't think we will achieve the consistency required to finish top two.
  8. We all knew it was coming.
  9. We are never ever ever going to ever score.
  10. Thank god our team don't make countless nothing passes over 5/10 yards over and over and over again. I mean that would be like terrible.
  11. I listened to some of the Pre match press conference and the main take away was that the manager calls Sulemana "Deeno".
  12. ITS HAPPENING
  13. All set up to be the greatest B team performance by an individual since England B thumped Russia B 4-1 25 odd years ago.
  14. I was at the ground on Saturday and loads of people - thousands - were saying that we were by far the greatest team the world has ever seen. Which is quite a big claim IMHO.
  15. We'd only played 14 games so this is revisionist horseshit. If I remember correctly you were a poster very much in the Nathan Jones camp and very much signed up to the Sports Republic know exactly what they are doing viewpoint. Nathan Jones would lead us into the 23/24 campaign come what may. This time last year I don't believe you were saying "we're down, we're doomed, nothing can save us were relegated, the damage is done".
  16. Haven't you got something "abhorrent" to bawl your eyes out about, sweetheart?
  17. Bit late for that.
  18. Whoopee. One of the reasons we got relegated last year was that instead of signing a Premier League ready goalkeeper (like, for example, Nottingham Forest) we signed one who was demonstrably not ready and not at the required standard. Bazunu improving now, a year and a relegation on, well, big fucking deal. Who'd have thunk it.
  19. I think that is true. Like you, really liked him and still do. What is definitely true is that his philosophy and motivational quotes would have annoyed a lot of fans if he didn't achieve what he did. "The man in the glass" stuff would not have been quite so effective if we were bumming around mid table League One.
  20. I don't know why you are pretending that the approach/mentality/ambition of every football manager on the planet is some unique thing attributable to Russell Martin and/or Southampton. Maresca and Kompany aren't at Leicester/Burnley because they love the city or the club, you know.

    James Bree

Two games in a row. Very solid/effective. Looks like Flynn Downes brother as well so really has slotted right in.
  22. Really good performance all round. Great to say that such a strong performance was masterminded by a young British manager.
  23. That's no way to talk about Peter Sellers.
