  1. Actually I think he said IF we're mid table by christmas, we're going for the play offs after that (ie loads of teams that are mid table at Christmas make the play offs) - the quote was about going for promotion, not hoping to stay up. Pardew wants success, not poncing about making out fourth from bottom is "all we can expect" like some dipsticks on this forum like to.
  2. Woodward didn't recommend Poortvilet, that was Wotte and some other Dutch bloke pre Burley. Indeed it was ludicrous from day one, including me who slated them from day one flying in the face of the "give-them-a-chance-Alex-Ferguson-took-five-years-blah-blah" brigade droning on. Useless idiots. I'm not defending Lowe for appointing the tw* t, but just annoyed that as long as anyone says disparaging things about Lowe then they become a Saints cult hero by default. JP having a pop at Lowe now is just a cheap way of hiding his own useless tw *ttishness. And people on here lap it up. Lap it up. He said Lowe interfered, everyone. Let's name a stand after him. What an all time Saints legend. Well he isn't, wasn't and never will be - he was a useless idiot from day one, should never have been given the job, but was even worse at it than any of us dared dread.

    Pompey crowd

Radio Five talked about "thousands of empty seats" in Farton. Easily the most passionate fanbase in Europe.
  4. LOL. Chief bloody ringleader in guilt tripping people to pledge money into a bottomless pit a few weeks back, leading to boat loads of posters talking about donating their savings of one, two three odd grand each....is now bleating about 200 quid. Can't you accept your contribution was "for the good of the club" - you seemed happy to spend everyone elses money in your own head not so long ago.
  5. Well if "I was completely unaware of the level of the league I was in" isn't a lie then fine. But to take a job as head coach of a club in a league "he didn't know the level of" is taking money under false pretences. So he is a liar. Or, more accurately, an idiot. Portvilet is getting heroworshipped for being an imbecile. Can't believe what some people are posting here.
  6. There are some Divs on this forum, aint there? Jan says he was "completely unaware" of the "level" of the league he was in - the English second tier the fifth most popular league in Europe and probably the fifth richest. Completely unaware? Completely unaware? But because he peppers his quotes with a few vaguely anti-Lowe rentaquotes you lap it up. Poor old Jan he loves Saints through and through etc etc etc. Completely unaware of the level of the league. God help us.
  7. Thanks for that insight into our predicament from gawd, three months ago. And yes, that'll be a Portsmouth supporter posting on a Southampton Football Club forum. Again. And again. And again. You are utterly besotted with us. Do try and get over it.
  8. Why are we talking to Bolton?
  9. Delays in completing the deal have been put down to the need to conduct due diligence and the completion of legal niceties. Looks like they've started work on the second round of due diligence. Because they'd completed due diligence according to Dr and Storie a few weeks back . But just to make sure, always worth doing it twice, ain't it. LOLtastic.
  10. http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11661_5471394,00.html Nikola Kalinic has signed for.............
  11. Yeah, but you're still buying Riquelme, right?
  12. LOL. Pompey fan in "we don't want any money-obsessed mercenaries" about turn shock. Don't tell me - all you want now are players just playing for the shirt - after all, what's the use of a load of galacticos clogging up the team with their demands for money and stuff. Far better to bring in a few ex-Crewe reserve teamers with a bit of "passion", eh? A busker with Alzheimer's wouldn't change his tune so quickly. Paying players wages? Euggh. Disgusting. Not at Newpompey of Dubai FC. Pant wettingly hilarious. Let's see if Rovers can stump up the billions he's asking for shall we?
  13. Blackburn Rovers have emerged as the favourites to sign Croatia international striker Nikola Kalinic from Hajduk Split. The 21-year-old has also been linked with Portsmouth in recent weeks, but Kalinic's agent has suggested that Rovers are in pole position to seal a deal. Tomislav Erceg told The News: "When we arrived in Portsmouth on Tuesday, they told us to wait until Friday morning. "We didn't want them to play games with us so we decided to leave straight away for London. "In the meantime, we received a concrete offer from Blackburn, who were interested since the beginning. So we immediately left London for Blackburn. "They greeted Kalinic like a true star and they are expecting big things from him this season." Hajduk president Mate Peros added: "Blackburn was the best one of all the offers we have received to date. "Very quickly we finished the talks with the club."
  14. I've cancelled today as well, £35 is just too much for L1 commentary, especially as none of the blurb on this new service mentions "exclusive" commentary, which was the selling point (or gun-to-the-head) of SaintsTV. If I can get Saints commentary from Solent (or somewhere else) online (which I think I can) then I don't need to spend £35.
  15. I'm not sure the BBC can justify putting games on involving tiny little lower league clubs that no one has ever heard of like Leeds United, Norwich City, Charlton and Southampton.
  16. What? ML owns everything. Club. Stadium. All of it. No-one is leasing anything to anyone. And, if we are going to have the same accounting debate for the fiftieth time since the takeover*, even if there was some complicated leasing arrangement it makes no difference to us whatsoever and won't affect our ability to buy players, or if ML "gets bored" or sells us or any of that guff. All those eventualities will be decided over what ML wants to do with the club, not some structure he has or hasn't set up. If he wants to spend £100m on players next season, he can. If he doesn't it won't be because of some leasing arrangment. It will be because he doesn't want to. ML owns everything. Get over it and stop trying to pick holes.
  17. I can't believe what I am reading here. Billboards won't deliver success long term. The only way we can possibly push on the next level is through bus stop posters.
  18. We've had "transparency and honesty" when we were told "we are debt free". Because we are debt free. But you don't believe it. So what's the point of demanding "transparency and honesty" when you're not going to believe what people say anyway? It works both ways you know.
  19. Christ, are people still not getting it? It was pretty bloody clear three weeks ago.
  20. Let's establish ourselves as at least a top 6 CCC club before we embark on any of this b* llocks. Winning football matches is the only reliable marketing exercise for football clubs. All the billboards in Hampshire won't make a difference to gates if we're sixth from bottom in League One for two years in a row.
  21. What's the argument? This is a Saints forum and we're laughing at you. There is no argument apart from "how much of a joke do you have to be to be a Portsmouth fan who thinks that there is an argument to win on a Saints fans forum?". What are you waiting for - us all to say, yeah, you're right after all and start singing the Pompey Chimes? So, how much of a joke are you? You're besotted. Get over it you weirdo.
  22. Still posting on a Saints message board, then, divs? We're a Saints forum. We can laugh at Portsmouth if we like. It takes a premium strain of saddo to post over and over on a rival club forum. Defending their club. It's just spazztastic, especially when you look at the length of the posts and the time you must spend writing them. Posting on this one for me is a total waste of my time, so you posting on a rival forum is simply pathetic. You're besotted. Get over it you weirdos.
  23. Were you expecting the coverage of football league highlights to be part of some musical variety revue format? Or maybe with a quiz show element fronted by that cheeky Graham Norton.
  24. Ross McCormack is definitely good enough to fire you into the Champions League places where a club with a fan base as gigantic as yours deserves to be.
  25. It is small beer and you seem to be splitting a hair slightly smaller than the atom. Even if ML has set up countless sub divisions of SFC we probably won't find out and it won't affect us in any meaningful way. The point is we are debt free, meaning at least that our revenue is now not going to be diverted into mortgage payments. And from everything so far said, that revenue is also not going to disappear into ML's back pocket and is very likely to be invested back into the club as a whole and players in particular. I think that should satisfy everyone, surely? I can't really see what you're driving at here.
