  1. I hope our fans stay classy, or at least do not give it the large one about Wednesday being relegated and gloat at them. They have really been through the shit with a completely awful owner! Yes we celebrate if we win, but let’s just enjoy what could be our last visit to Hillsborough for a long time.
  2. ‘That’ cup run. The first that I remember, of course the semi final, but also Armstrong against Blackburn, holding the magic sponge to his head. The other semi final Watford v Plymouth. To this day I believe if we had overcome Everton we would have won the cup that year. Remember the Wednesday game. I think the last time I was at Hillsborough was 0-0 as well in the mid 90’s.
  3. I don’t think there has been any expectation on them for a while. They put their all into winning the Steel derby, but fell short, as this would have been very small consolation for what has been a horror of a season. They have slightly settled down and improved over the last few weeks, and by this I mean they have scored. If we do not win this it will be criminal. But nothing surprised me when I go to football. I have managed to see Cambridge lose their only game in 20 against few weeks ago away at Harrogate who were bottom and not won in 10 games at home… yep Harrogate won!
  4. The championship is a little nuts, I think everyone but Sheffield Wednesdays and Oxford have had a good run, or a bad run followed by the opposite and then repeat. Some in the top 3 for a little more, but no one is setting the league on fire. My fear is that we are still 4 off the top 6 and we are due another dip. But so are Wrexham! 🤷🏽 Take nothing away… great win tonight, but after Saturday I feel it will get a little tougher for a few weeks.
  5. WTF… don’t use up all the goals! I’m at Hillsborough with the boy on Saturday!
  6. Even though there are many that are not consistent, we are at the top end of having another good run, let’s see if that continues at home to QPR, then we ‘should’ beat Wednesday… then I feel another dip is due which will put pay to this up and down optimism.
  7. Lot of huff and puff and plenty of the ball, but lacking ideas and quality in front of goal (apart from the goal). Perhaps we should try it more often? Just void of ideas on how to break down a poor Charlton side.
  8. If Derby, Wrexham and Bristol City lose tomorrow and Birmingham do not win by a bigger margin than us, we will be in the playoff places… madness!
  9. He cannot help himself I’m afraid. He also reacted far to slowly and should have hooked some players and changed the shape much early, but fair play in the end, we got away with it with an amazing comeback, just in the nick of time, and you could feel the Leicester panic, just like we have felt so many times in the past!
  10. Games against Leicester seem to have talking points in history, can we talk about this one for years rather than the 0-9. Oh and 7 different scorers! What a night. We certainly have a bit more spunk about us since the Skates away!
  11. Match thread GOLD! 😂 😂 😂
  12. Any manager with experience would have rang the changes, would have hooked players and changed the shape. I watch Cambridge United go 2 down in 20 minutes on Saturday at Harrote and Harris made changes and changed the shape… league 2. It also sends a message to those players and the others on the pitch, do your job or be replaced.
  13. Tonda does make some random selections just to tinker. Not required young man! Stop over complicating things. It looks like it is done deliberately
  14. Plenty of time. Not going to say what for, but plenty of time.
  15. This fixture really does not do it for the masses. I do think we have a great chance of winning this, as they are all over the place.
  16. Could be reading into this too much, but it seems like there is a togetherness. All going over to celebrate and congratulate each other. Not seen it much over the last 2 seasons. May not have been a pretty game, but another win and a clean sheet. 3 of the last 4 games, unheard of. I will say we are not playing anywhere near a team that will succeed in the playoffs, but that is why we still have quite a few teams between us and 6th. I will say the 6th spot will be the much weaker side compared to the rest. Let’s try and get their first, but something to aim for, but as I say way off!
  17. For an early kick off, I would go around to the store for a bit and catch them on the way out. Will be about 3:00/3:15.

    Adam Armstrong

To right, one of the best moments of my Southampton supporting life, stood in the stands of Wembley with my son and wife. What goal, what a day!

    Adam Armstrong

Rumours are that AA was being disruptive in the changing room. Sounds weird 😂
  20. I don’t believe that for a minute, we do not have a plan!
  21. Slightly unfair, we are not working at a ‘professional’ football club as a scout, coach, manager or owner, we just support them, it really is not our job. Maybe if they had not made such screw ups at the club, we would not be so sceptical.
  22. The place that I get my car serviced at here in Carlisle is owned by a Scottish bloke who is a Rangers fan. I was talking to him about Russell Martin when he was in charge at Ibrox, and the conversation changed as this Scottish bloke said, “I tell you what that Aribo is on hell of a player”, I thought he was joking, but no him and his Rangers mates season ticket holders think he is brilliant. I left scratching my head in bemusement.
  23. Should be a home win as Watford are on a very poor run. But who knows what Saints will turn up?
  24. In the championship it does not seem to matter who you are playing, the results are just random. I think it seems to go with who is on a good run at that time, and is the run going to end and go on a crap run now! All season there have been teams that had good runs and are now crap or indifferent and are next opposition are the ones that went on a good run and are now not looking as good. Now - Derby and they will turn indifferent again soon. The teams that have done this are below. Charlton, Stoke, Preston, Saints, Blackburn, QPR, Bristol City, and the above. If we are on the purple patch we should win the next couple of games, maybe 3 and then lose a couple and draw one. So for this reason I am going to go 7 points. Win, win, lose, lose, draw. But surely that would be mad, as my head says Win, draw, win, draw, win - 11 points. 🤷🏽
  25. Oh very good. 😊
