Well, the watching Rogers for NYJ lasted not even to the end of the game in week one. Still intrigued by NYJ to see what they can do against a strong Cowboys team. Win tonight and there might be something in the hype of a Super Bowl for them. my niners started well last week and have a tough test against the Rams tonight, but have started well.

The results, table and a couple of photos from today, as we again sit on top of the championship. Shame we did not get the 3 points last week. Would be great to get into the top flight!

Was not on it last weekend, but saw we lost to Sunderland at home, as I was running around near their home in South Shields. But a great response to that loss, unlike the mens team on Friday, the women pulled off the reverse of the men’s in a 1-4 away win at Reading! Fantastic result.

This for me. We know Holgate had a very poor game (the rest were pretty poor as well), the manager will know he had a poor game, even Holgate himself will know he had a poor game. It happens for many reasons, but as a club they will address this, see him in training and if he shows what he can do, he will get another crack of the whip and hopefully take it. That’s how football works for players in the main. There will always be fans that also target one play, and wait for them to make a mistake and slaughter them. We all have our favourites, and those that we are not sure about, but even these we only pick up and highlight the mistakes rather than the good they produce on the pitch. but every club has fans that moan, and vent and get angry. Its not up for me to deny these people who support the club not matter how tiresome it becomes. I try and stay positive. If we have a poor game, I can see where the problems are, and just hope that the management put it right. It’s up to me to ‘support’ the team and this goes for if we are 5-0 up or 5-0 down, for those 90 minutes I support them. Yeah get bloody annoyed and frustrated as the next person, but it’s football and it should be fun, or why do it?

What I do expect tonight is some kind of reaction to the result 2 weeks ago. A bit passion, a bit of tempo and a lot more professional, with a plan to change things if not working. If we lose, I do not mind (I do mind) if we have given are all and have been beaten by the better team. But to roll over and have our bellies tickled no no!

Why have we still not got a proper goalkeeper?

All done. An amazing event, loved it, the best half marathon out of the 5 I have done. The 60k runners in the event helps and the huge crowds. So good. Thank for the sponsorship from peeps on here I have so grateful 🥹

Nothing wrong with the great border city. 💕

Thank you, yes reached the target yesterday, so that has only helped. Really excited about the run. Thank you for you donation it is very much appreciated. 😊

I just wanted to say thank you to everyone who has donated to the above. I do not think I have met any of you on here, but I am always amazed by the generosity of fellow Saints fans and those that have been impacted in one way or another through mental health and the lack of resources for it. We had a nice write up here in the local press in Carlisle, even though I would have preferred them to say father and daughter, rather than man and daughter. Thank you 😊 https://www.newsandstar.co.uk/news/23751811.carlisle-man-daughter-great-north-run-charity-mind/?fbclid=IwAR2ba3t2PEuEZneFx1H6nYHtjmgtqskyQHeRC5xeZL_sgbHOb0mw_GC37SM_aem_AfYD0KLz6KfN8jZnn9KKhdcA6dynQ3GwDmA4mFYQKfyE-KbUm_Jic5uO9QOLMmbQqFg https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/kevin-sim4

So the season kicks off on Sunday and I think it is going to be an interesting season. I always follow the 49ers and have since my teens, but also have liked the Packers for about 10 years now because of Rogers. Love this man, someone who reads the game better than anyone I know, but will now instead be keeping an eye on NY Jets because of his move there. I think the Jets will be better than they have been (not hard), but think they will lose in the play offs. Who is your team, what are you hopes. I know there was a Dolphin on here, and I have heard someone say it’s Steelers year this year, again!

Far too early to tell. Will let you know come the end of October time.
-
If we could approach the game a little more professionally, settle into the game without conceding, not concede right after scoring, just before half time, just after the break and right at the end, add in a little defending and the keeper engages brain to hand, or foot or any part of the body to stop the ball going into that net thing, it would be a good idea. If we can do this we might get a draw. Building from the back springs to mind for training maybe? 🤷🏽

I’m sorry but he is just not good enough. He was not good enough in the premier league and he is not good enough at this level. We need to sort it and it is criminal that it was not put right in the window. Does not help that are defending is gash as well, from the midfield to defence. Everything about Saturday was completely wrong in the balance of the side and the mistakes made, but our keeper is is invisible, completely awful and should not be anywhere near the starting line up!
-
Unbeaten and Sunderland next… oh!
-
You believe there is a process? 😮 😉
-
You never know with this lot! But a very sane and fair point.
-
Agree with the invisible keeps we have. I have said it before and will say it again, apart from the Wednesday game we have looked very shaky, but all the changes and the transfer window only closing yesterday, he needs time to get the right starting 11 and shape. We will have a better idea come the end of October. If it is still as shambolic in midfield (defensively) and at the back then something will need to change.

Oh it was a nice touch today that he came over before kick off and applauded the away fans, this because we are on a good run and looking to keep momentum, but I’m still unsure about it. Should be focusing on his team and maybe the applause at the end. I don’t know maybe I’m being harsh, but he will make a rod for his own back if we are mid table come Christmas, does he keep coming over and face the flack, or stop coming over and get flack!
