  1. I have to say I am a little worried about not making the £500 target, and really cannot afford to make up the difference. Please dig deep, and even it you all gave £1 it would help so much. http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/fundraiser-web/fundraiser/showFundraiserProfilePage.action?userUrl=simsgocycling&isTeam=true Cheers fellow Saints!
  2. Hey Huffton, I will look into this. I do want to do off road and also I am going to see the Olympic mountain bike on Sunday, and I do find it very interesting and more of exciting, but at the moment it is all on road. I will be buying a road bike as will be mixing it up more, but going to look into these tyres. Cheers mate

  5. I decided a few weeks ago to make my Friday ride a time trail ride, and I did my Friday ride today as we are away tomorrow. I have managed to beat my time every week so far. You have to remember, this is a standard mountain bike, and there is huge hill right at the start, which takes it out of you and gives you a slow start. First week - 1 hour 44 mins and 41 seconds Second week - 1 hour 34 mins and 21 seconds Third week - 1 hour 27 mins and 06 seconds Finished Cycle: 2 Aug 2012 16:39:25 Route: New Route Google Maps URL: http://maps.google.com/?q=http://share.abvio.com/824c/8038/fa1e/970c/Cyclemeter-Cycle-20120802-1442.kml Import URL: http://share.abvio.com/824c/8038/fa1e/970c/Cyclemeter-Cycle-20120802-1442.kml Ride Time: 1:27:06 Stopped Time: 0:10 Distance: 20.16 miles Average: 13.89 mph Fastest Speed: 29.28 mph Ascent: 684 feet Descent: 675 feet Calories: 1241 http://www.cyclemeter.com Next month is the London to Brighton so please give if you can, as I am giving my all in training. http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/fundraiser-web/fundraiser/showFundraiserProfilePage.action?userUrl=simsgocycling&isTeam=true
  6. Yeah, we went into Cambridge today, to give the wife knees a bit of a rest. I love the hill ride, that I do on a Friday. Yes mixing it up is good, I tend to pick up a pace and then stick to it, when out on my own. But I cycle WITH my wife as we are in training to do this ride together, so that is what we have signed up to do. My average pace on my own is probably 14/15 MPH now, which is not bad on a mountain bike. After this ride in September, mme and Mrs Dr Who will be going out for more leisurely rides, and I will save the fast paced ones for going out on my own or anyone else who wants to push the limits.
  7. Today was a 35 miler around Cambridge. Was suppose to be 37, but a couple of wrong moves seem to have shortened the ride a little. Found it hard to get into it today! 8. Played well, but lack sharpness up front.
  9. I think so. No names.
  10. FFS Saints sort it out! Nice kit! ;-)
  11. Well beat my time trial of 1 hour 45 in my cycle yesterday. Rest today to watch the cycling, and football, and then back tomorrow for a 37 miler. 12. Anyone else watching this. I am amazed what a tight unit Team GB are, fantastic to watch. Looking for a GB gold, silver?
  13. Please give if you can. Thanks http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/fundraiser-web/fundraiser/showFundraiserProfilePage.action?userUrl=simsgocycling&isTeam=true

  15. This is very true, I work for a fashion wholesale company, and there are many very good looking sales reps, but when you talk to them, it would put off any single man with any self respect. As sales reps they are all like spoilt children, and look after number 1, and are so self centred. There is something that would put you off all of them in one way or another. I am just glad I am not single, and have to go through the terrible hassle of dating...I was so so lucky that my now wife, just happened to be living in the shared house I moved into.

  17. Here is my short fast cycle this evening! Felt good, after a 3 day break and the cleaning and the re-lubing of the bike meant that the machine ran so smoothly. 18. Well, I took the weekend off from cycling. Felt really drained on Saturday and today I thought I would take the day off. Did spend it cleaning, degreasing and lubing the chain. The bike looks good and should be ready for the sunny part of the training. 8 weeks today and we would have completed the cycle! Bring it on!
  19. Oh forgot this one! Andrei Kanchelskis, and even Kerry Dixon.
  20. Did the same route as my last one. Hilly and went at it with a lot of effort, ans shaved 40 minutes off the day before! Felt really shaky and spaced out though in the evening. Felt much better after eating, but felt so shattered. Think I will go out in the sunshine today and do a slower leisurely ride! 21. I felt a little pee off, when it became clear we were not going to catch them, in the same way Reading pipped us to the title this year. This is because I know a lot of Reading fans, and used to live and work there. I used to live in Brighton as well, and I love the place. My main problem is that it had to be these 2 clubs. I used to watch them at Elm Park, and the Goldstone ground, as the smaller club that you used to go along and watch and they were no harm to Saints at all, but all of a sudden they were above us. I am sure that Reading will return to the N Power soon, and Brighton will hang around the mid to the lower regions of the same league, as we are battling to get into Europe. As long as we stay above them both, I do not have a problem with them at all, and would again go and watch them if I was at a loose end. The above is not rivalry, but me as a Saints fan thinking we should be above this lot. Since we got relegated I have hated the fact we have been below Wigan. The season we went down, they went up, and I really did not like that. Same when we lose to newly promoted teams. But if we are back above these teams in the league, I have no problem or dislike of them, but as long as we are looking down. It is just the teams I think we SHOULD be above. This cannot be said for the skates, I hate them, I still think they should be punished further, and even though they are now 2 leagues below us, I still hate them, and that can only come with real rivalry.
  22. This is what it is all about, success, build, more success build, and the masses will come. You need to get the timing right, on the pitch is where the money should be spent to get success, and then build, improve and push on I really do think that we are heading into the most exciting, and successful spell of Southampton FC's existence!
  23. Both managed to get out today, for a hilly 20 miler, before the babysitting hours were up! Route below. http://share.abvio.com/824c/8038/fa1e/970c/Cyclemeter-Cycle-20120719-1919.kml
  24. I was watching some of the TDF yesterday and I thought..... sod that, they are mad! Saying that I then watched a program after on Eurosport Mountain Bike world championships, now that looked fun and a little more up my street. I have a mountain bike so may start going off road after the cycle in September, but not before as I will probably fall off! I will then get a road bike, and have my mountain bike for off road!
