  1. Whilst I couldn't believe how many chances were being missed right in front of me on Saturday, that was the best performance we have had in long time. Both sides were on a poor run of form, but our form has been far worse than Arsenal's, so to go to their ground where we are historically poor in the league and out play them for large parts of the game is hugely encouraging. It's not rocket science that putting players in their natural positions helped, but we played on the front foot from the off and countered extremely well. The next 5 games are vital, my only worry is we don't seem to play the same way at home and we are not good at breaking down teams we are meant to beat. I'd play the same side again against Watford
  2. Sound like a PR piece to stop fans from protesting
  3. Yes, they can't defend and nor can we. Our best way to defend is to do so from the front. When we press, we are a much better defensive unit. The past two months have been way to passive and we have invited pressure onto our weak defence.
  4. I'd play: GK - Mccarthy LB - Bertrand CB - Danso CB - Bednarek RB - Cedric MC - Hojberg MC - Romeu LW - Djenpo RW - Redmond (Boufal perhaps) FW - Ings FW - Adams
  5. The whole Director Of Football and Assistant Manager debacle is an absolute joke and shows you what a complete mess the club is currently in. I would imagine that we would have known that Ross Wilson might be leaving and the key to any successful business is succession planning. Poor succession planning will lead to short term failings and more than likely long term failings due to panic recruiting and then having to go through the process again. Football is a different type of business with short term failure potentially leading to relegation, mass loss of income and years of peril in the lower leagues. Les Reed used to bang on about succession planning, but I see no signs of this with Saints in the current climate. Our current coaching set up is ridiculous too with bang average coaches and no Assistant Manager. Kelvin Davis - Very average keeper, only kept on as club captain as he told jokes in the dressing room. Now the jokes are on the pitch. Dave Watson - Made every keeper progressively worse during his tenure and then gets a promotion. Craig Fleming - Not great with the under 18's and has promotion. No idea about the guy brought in recently, but it is no wonder we are in the mess we are in really. This is without going into poor player recruitment. Anyway, looking forward to going tomorrow
  6. Nelly the elephant will be the new DOF and Assistant Manager.
  7. I'm after another ticket if anyone has one. I live in London close to the ground, so would have to meet there.
  8. I'm only going as I live a 15 minute walk away and stupidly have some hope of getting something, as we are better away from home. I went to Arsenal V Palace a few weeks back and whilst they are a quiet bunch, they do get on the managers back quickly and what atmosphere that is there does turn sour rapidly and not one person seems to want Emery. They went 2-0 early on, but as soon as Palace got one goal, you could sense the next goal would go to Palace. Their defence is awful like ours, but their attack is much better. Hopefully they are still low on confidence and we are clinical. Away pub still that Drayton Park pub?
  9. I can't see Jose working well at Spurs. He likes to spend money and Levy is tight as you like. Jose likes experienced players and that is not Spurs model. Spurs fans like to play "beautiful football" and Jose's style is outdated and certainly not pretty. Anyway, I couldn't give a damn about Spurs and hope it does go wrong. Can't stand Levy since the Hoddle incident.
  10. I think it is fairly obvious all is not right at the club. Whilst Bayern Munich is a huge club and much bigger than Saints, Rohl has gone in as an Analyst and his role at Saints had a lot more responsibility and at his relatively young age would learn more in his role in the Premier League. As soon as Gao came in, I feared for the future of the club and his intentions. Like others have said, I fear we are going to end up down the Blackburn and Sunderland routes due to lack of investment and more importantly completely out of touch in what owning a football club entails and how you cannot treat fans as just customers.
  11. I don't think we should sack the manager, but after almost a year in charge he doesn't know his best formation or starting 11. He changes the defence every game and I believe that is the main reason for most of the errors, as have a sold line up every week will help. I know the defenders are not great, but stick with the best defence available and work with them. His body language hasn't been great this season and that is a worry. It seems he doesn't want to be here and I am still not sure that "hospital operation" was planned and I think something did go on behind the scenes.
  12. If anyone else has any spare tickets please let me know. I live in North London and can meet before the game at your convenience with cash!
  13. If anyone has a spare ticket for this, please let me know. Need one ticket.
  14. Compared to previous managers he does. Puel, Pellegrino and Hughes would have done this mid way through the second half. He does make tactical switches through the game too, that other managers did not.
  15. I don't understand the Danso at left back decisions. He wasn't very good at Brighton away in that position and was much more at home when we switched to a back three. He got sent off against united and was awful against Bournemouth in that position. The only difference between Ralph and other managers is that he makes a decision to rectify the problems ASAP, which is a good thing. Bertrand should be starting left back or wing back every game in my opinion and Danso should partner Bednarek. No doubt Ralph has been great for us, but no manager is free of criticism.
  16. Yes, I have spoken to a couple of people and that is the plan I believe. Thanks for letting me know!
  17. Like the vast of majority of people, unfortunately I wasn't able to get a ticket for the P*mpey game next week. If any Saints fans based in London fancy meeting up to watch the game, it would be good to hopefully celebrate humiliating them in the presence of other Saints fans. Let me know if anyone fancies meeting up and we can all arrange a suitable meeting place nearer the game! Up the saints!!
