Give credit to Reading for the fantastic run of results in recent weeks - and for soaking up pressure tonight and scoring from the few chances they had. By contrast we had more possession and more chances and didn't make the most of them. They have picked up 6 points from their last 2 away games and we have gained 1 point from our last 2 home games. It looks like Reading for the title and Saints runners-up. Am I disappointed that Saints will probably not win the title? Yes. Would I have settled last August for 2nd place with 3 to go? Definitely.

Blackpool played Philips and Ince for width and from when the teamsheet was announced it was obvious we would face problems on the wings - but we left our full backs were exposed. As Dave Merrington frequently laments, we are too narrow and need width.

For several weeks posters have been asking, "Why is NA not playing Billy Sharp after paying big money for him in January?" Yesterday we got the answer to that question. He is clearly not fit enough / confident enough / settled enough to be ready for the first team. But he will be - give Nigel time.

Agree - Sharp was poor not only for missing a penalty for giving the ball away and being offside too often. And though I admire Joss H this was a poor performance by his own high standards. Need to up our game next week.
