Doncaster 1 - 0 Saints - Post Match Reaction
ulstersaint replied to Saint_clark's topic in The Saints
Two away defeats against two bottom teams - and poor performances from Saints in both games. Nigel has done a fantastic job to lift Saints to top of the Championship, but he has got his team selection and tactics badly very wrong in these away games and lost points. Our next away games? P*mpey and Brighton! -
Very good - I can now hear the dulcet tones of DM
-
Saints Player still not playing.
-
Jos and Jose - our best CB pairing since Killer and Claus.

Anyone who believes the content of the Sun needs their head examined. Listen to the current Leveson Inquiry and realise that journalists make things up! Classic this week when Gordon Taylor's phone was hacked. The message to GT hacked was a young female voice saying - "Gordon you were wonderful yesterday!" And you can imagine what the journos made of that. The truth is, the young lady was phoning to thank Gordon Taylor for speaking at her father's funeral the previous day.

Solent tater said Guly speaks Brazilian! Tell him, in Brazil they speak Portugese.

Great substitution by NA - Steve D R 4-2
-
Agree, he never looked as good when played wide right.
-
Time for Dave M to say "What Saints must not do is lose their concentration"
-
Never give in - GULY
-
Chappers 1-0
-
Jos the boss - get in there!

Agree with previous posters and both fullbacks left too much space for overlaps; both Forest goals came through our RB position; Butterfield would have been better choice at RB; Cork must play centre midfield; early days for Fox (great free kick to Ricky) so let's give him time.
-
At the match v Forest and thought Hammond was great until he was moved to right midfield where he was poor; when the ball was passed to him out wide he didn't seem to know what to do with it, and he was offside when he had a clear look across the line - bit like BWP. Hammond is a centre-midfielder. And we need Cork there too, not right back.
-
Not too concerned - we looked good on Saturday without him.

Saints 3 - 1 Leeds, Post Match Celebration

What's happened? We never start the season well and usually play rubbish when we're on Sky. But that was a great result with 3 class goals - we're on the march. -
Absolutely brilliant! Take a bow Mike and all involved.

" ..... the deal wasn't right". Translation, 'Southampton made me a very attractive offer - my agent told me to turn it down and expect a higher offer - Southampton said no thanks and moved on'.
-
Just very pleased that Gobern has been replaced by Cork - a genuine improvement to our midfield options.

Biggest Flop Signing & Low Expectation That Came Good
ulstersaint replied to Gemmel's topic in The Saints
We have ended up with some rubbish! I wholeheartedly agree that Dixon & Speedie were a total waste of space, but what about our recent star Anthony Pulis. -
Who was your favourite foreign Saints player? (current players don't count)

Was this from last summer or from April 1st? -
Anyone know when the fixture list for next season is published?
