I know it’s out of our hands but taking 2 feels like they are taking the piss. We can’t go on about having a great pathway if we don’t fight to keep the players. Our 18s team is looking like it’s being picked apart, unsurprisingly. I can’t imagine saints will offer anywhere near the money they will get at other clubs to be fair to the kids. What is also annoying in addition to losing our nest youngsters is watching rival teams like Leeds, Palace, and Villa absolutely boss academy recruitment while we don’t even appear to be in the picture. With an academy team doing so well at u18, you would have thought this was their best opportunity to do some poaching of their own.

Could this be Tyler Dibling perhaps? He did bang in a hat trick against their B team this season. Whoever it is, it will be a shame to lose a promising youngster following on from the defender who went to City last year and Beach who has just left for Chelsea

GK McCarthy (would prefer Forster but looks like the decision was made hastily) 1 New GK FB Peraud Small KWP Valery 1 Loan CB Lyanco Stephens Salisu Simeu 1 New CB CM JWP Diallo Romeu 1 New CM AM S. Armstrong Tella Smallbone Minimum 2 New AM FW Adams A. Armstrong Broja (if possible) 1-2 New Strikers

This is the reason we managed to poach him from Everton. They still give him a hard time for it. Mad that he’s agitating for a move - even if it is for a loan more - for the second season in a row. Especially after his train crash of a 45 mins against a championship team so far this year.

Looks like City group have bought NAC Breda https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/football/18044773/man-city-owners-buy-nac-breda-holland/amp/

He played today and was pretty crap. Luckily for him Tizzard got taken off at half time because he had already done two poor tackles in the first half and was on a yellow. They changed from 5-2-3 to the standard 4-2-2-2 and looked better - it was hard to look any worse tbf

A front four of Ballard, Pearce, Morgan, and Dibling has huge potential. Would be great to see them getting more minutes in the B team but probably more likely to be next season. Although a lot of the other teams in league do have much older and more physical teams to deal with. Semmens and Ralph always talk about the pathway for young players coming in from other clubs but I would to know if they think anybody anyone from the B team or Academy can get in to the first team. I hope at the very minimum Olagibe gets some minutes of the bench before the end of the year.

Just watched the B team against Wolves and they were awful in the first half and improved in the second half as they gave 20 mins worth of effort. Only 1 shot despite the final score being 4-2 to Wolves. Diamond Edwards looked like he got a pretty bad injury in the first half, which doesn't seem great as he's only just come back from one. Beach was called up in goal but let 2 through his legs and got dropped for the 4th one. They were lucky it weren't 5 as Payne gave away a foul in the area and the ref gave it as a free kick on the edge. Lots of mitigating circumstances and close to the end of the season I do think they gave a few of the boys who might be leaving some minutes, nonetheless, I think they will be dissapointed. Wolves now moved ahead in the table and they look like slipping out of the playoff places. No Kegs again, I don't know if this is because of an injury or maybe trialling at other clubs if he's not signing a new contract. No idea. Pearce took his goal very well, looks like a very decent finisher. I would say that was the real positive. Turner and Lawrence played ok and Mitchell had a couple of decent runs, but I'm somewhat clutching at straws there.

Captained the B team while Kegs was out and Simeu was with first the first team and then out on loan. Also, surely Olagibe can’t be that far from the first team I think they said in comms today that he was up to 12 goals this season. I think it’s just his work against the ball that’s the issue for Ralph

Looked really good with the press first half but massively dropped off in the second half. Not really suprising as they're still quite young but couldn't keep up the press for the full game and didn't manage the game well enough to make up for it. Villa picked us off a bit in the second half with space in behind Small who seemed to be out of position a a lot. Tizzard and Kegs played well, but Payne and Olaigbe were outstanding, especially first half. Always suprised Payne doesn't get more of a mention about stepping up to the first team, maybe because he's a bit on the short side but he contributes massively going forward and is pretty decent in defence, he can only be 17 or 18 at the most so he's got time on his side at least you would like to think.

https://direktno.rs/sport/fudbal/400750/dragan-solak-holandija-kupovina-kluba.html Just saw this on another site. Latest club Sports Republic are being linked with, NAC Breda from the Dutch 2nd Division One of 3 potential buyers, local business man already involved in the club, American investors, or Sports Republic

Just FYI all of the questions were copy and pasted from a chat on The Athletic which he set up asking for question for the mailbag. On the chat you can literally match the questions to the mailbag story and see who posted them so nothing to do with Saints Web.

The app you need to use is the NHS app rather than the NHS Covid app - which doesn't make sense at all. Nonetheless, on the NHS app once you put in your NHS number you'll be able to download a domestic or travel COVID pass. It confussed me the first time I tried to do it aswell.

The playbook isn’t just the 4-2-2-2 as far as I am aware. The 4-2-2-2 is just Ralph’s preferred formation.
-
I would assume that’s because the B team play tomorrow against Villa
-
Tbf I think he’s said before there is different formations as part of the playbook with the 4-2-2-2 being the primary one he uses. Although he has switched to the five a few times this season with Romeu moving in to cb a few times mid game and the Chelsea game was 3/5. Previous season is completely agree with you.
-
They’ve been playing with those 3 at the back since the results started to turn. I think the combo of the 3 cover for each of their individual deficiencies. They looked relatively comfortable in the game vs Wolves. Also on that, weird that often other teams stream their home matches for the B/u23 team unless they are at the main stadium, whereas we never seem to anymore.

Wasn't this weekend the 3rd penalty he's given away this season?
-
Is there a link to the Sky story anywhere, I was on there Transfer Centre and didn't see anything
-
Tbf to Tom Leach he had pictures of Olufunwa training with the first team before they were released on social or in gallery. Maybe the club sends them the new photos ahead of time to use for articles etc

Unless we are playing a non-vacinated XI in pre-season I doubt this is really the chat for it

Symeu is apparently off to Watford

Watford forum seems to think he's on the way there https://wfcforums.com/index.php?threads/dynel-simeu.58331/

Keeping Track of the Contracts 2024-25
daldridge7 replied to Over land and sea's topic in The Saints
Danny and Vest contracts are up next summer so this wouldn't affect them
