wrong,he is a fan that doesnt contribute,he is a fan that whinges and moans about the state of the club and how we dont have any money but is not willing to put his hand in his pocket to help out his club when it is needed the most. he says he doesnt want to go whilst lowe is in charge, and wont buy a ticket but will go if it is free..........just tell me how that is a fan? you can bet your life that if we get a good cup run (very unlikely i know) he will be the first in the queue to try and get a ticket and also be the loudest moaner when he realises he cant get one. if you want that type of fan at the club then you are deluded. we need paying fans who support the club through thick and thin,i can even tolerate part time fans/casual supporters, but freeloaders are just parasites.
-
i know somebody who wont go because lowe is in charge yet he has been to two home games this season because he got the tickets for nothing. this is the type of fan that should be driven from our club, they are the ones that shout the loudest when things are going wrong but are first in the queue for any freebies. imo stay aways consist of a large percentage of this type of 'fan'. even though i think the proper stay away fans (the fans that stick to their principles and refuse to go) are crazy,i do have a certain respect for their stance even though i dont agree with whatb they are doing.

just how many people are not going because of rupert lowe? i refuse to believe that the total is more than about 3-4K and i reckon that a high percentage of that figure are just using the whole lowe thing as an excuse not to go. it is about time that the club started to recognise the value of the customers that have stuck by it through the bad times and perhaps rewarded their loyalty in some way. fvck all the people who prefer to watch the directors box, fvck all the people who are staying away whilst their club go down the pan.these people are not important they are just causing rifts in the fanbase and their custom is not needed as much as they think.the club should concentrate on getting the kids and new fans through the turnstiles and forget about the stay aways, they will return when the going gets good once again or they realise that their actions are not really worth a rats arse.

if it makes you feel better,i have also been the victim of thieving parcel snatchers a few times as well.................just to balance it out and all that.
-
many years ago i worked for a delivery company delivering catalogue stuff to people in basingstoke, everyday i would be delivering parcels to people and would come across parcels left by royal mail on the same doorsteps as i was delivering. needless to say i went home with a van full of royal mail parcels nearly everyday and made a nice income from their crap service.

just what do we have to offer anymore?
lordswoodsaints replied to lordswoodsaints's topic in The Saints
i agree with you for a change alpine, the best we can offer any decent enough player is the chance to put themselves in the shop window for a big money move to the prem or a more ambitious championship side. -
what do we have to offer any potential signings anymore? in days gone by when we were in the premiership we had our premiership status, our good track record of nurturing the youngsters, our history in the top flight and our 'family friendly club' image to attract the players to our club. but what do we have to offer today........? apart from the obvious attraction to the younger players of bringing through and playing the youth players and perhaps our top class facilities (stadium and training ground) there isnt much left in the repertoire to attract any potential signings. i cant imagine us being the best payers in the league and playing in front of a half empty stadium cant be too appealing, this coupled with our over critical, over expectant fanbase is enough to put anybody off coming to play for us. so what is it that attracts players to this club?

Leon Crouch - a very successful business man.
lordswoodsaints replied to derry's topic in The Saints
he is a fan but fans should never be involved in the running of a football club imo...............................precisely why the saints trust is like flogging a dead horse. -
it was always going to be a rollercoaster ride (always has been supporting saints) but i think we will avoid relegation, which on the whole will be a result that most of us would have taken at the start of the season. JP seems a good man and seems to want the team to play a bit of footie,he obviously wouldnt have been the choice of 99.99999% of the fanbase but we have got what we have got and we have to make the best of a bad situation we find ourselves in. if the worst happens and we do get relegated then JP's contribution to our downfall will be minimal as there are other, more serious factors that have dragged us down, things that are out of JP's control and that have been present long before he arrived. so overall i think JP is doing a fair job under difficult circumstances,a job which would test even the best managers in the world.

i believe they have bought the old system from pompey as the pompey version doesnt cater for more than 19,000 fans,as we are averaging 15,000 per game this is plenty. our 32,000 version has been sold to west quay car parking as most blokes go shopping with their mrs every saturday afternoon when saints are playing at home these days.

man utd play bingo? :smt037

if we got there would we be able to shift 25k seats if our average home gate stays at 15k? of course we would and there would be 10k more kicking up a fuss cos they cant get a ticket. so where are these people now? and would a decent cup run bring the 'stay aways' back for a few league games? of course i am only dreaming/hoping for a decent run.
-
it is nothing to do with who is the better fan,in fact i couldnt give a rats arse who goes and who dont but the people who dont shouldnt come on here and spout sh1te about something they dont experience first hand. i dont think i am superior to any other saints fan in the same way as i dont ever feel inferior.there are fans who do have genuine reasons not to go and if you are one of them then thats fine but whilst you are sitting there deciding how to take your 'support forwards' the club is going down the pan. how many fans exactly are deciding how to take their support forward anyway? will they wait until the club is promoted again before deciding the time is right? or will they wait until the club is on its knees begging?........perhaps a good cup run will do the trick. when exactly is the right time to decide to once again support your club? SFC is not a light switch you cannot decide when to support your team and when not to support them. all of those fans who decide not to go to SMS need to think back to the reasons why they supported the team in the first place and put aside all their differences
-
then i am a dinosaur. i dont know wether or not you attend SMS,and i dont really care but judging by your username im guessing that you are about the same age as me,in which case you must of experienced the old 2nd div days and the constant struggle in the old first div and prem, admittedly we had a couple of decent seasons when we were not in a relegation battle or struggling to finish mid table but i along with thousands of others never gave up on the team and i suspect that you never did either.the 2nd div years hold some of my best memories as a saints fan. i understand that football has changed in my 40+ years some of it for the better but a lot of it for the worse, nobody should be put off supporting their team(the one that they have probably supported all of their lives) because of who happens to be in charge or because we are skint and playing a lot of kids or even what division we are in,this to me is madness. if supporting my team in times of trouble and scorning those who make excuses makes me a dinosaur then so be it. damned if i am going to let lowe, wilde,no money or the championship spoil my enjoyment at watching the team i have supported for 40+ years.
-
you cant compare supporting a football team with buying products from a shop. being a supporter you know that you will not always get what you want, sometimes the team will be on top form and win games, sometimes they will be under par and lose,it doesnt exactly do what it says on the tin. buying stuff from a shop is a bit more straightforward,if you buy something and it is shoddy or faulty you can get your money back or even take the shop to court.i cant really see the judge keeping a straight face if you tried to drag SFC through the courts demanding that they win every week and they buy better players, can you? i have no loyalty to any shop, sure there are places that i prefer to shop but they are not running through my blood like saints are. people are free to make their own choices but it is funny how 15000 people have chosen not to attend because we are in the championship and not doing too well. imo they are crap customers and bad supporters,i am not saying i am better than them i am saying that they need to up their game and think about the consequences of not supporting their team when they are needed the most.
-
i would like to see lowe and wilde come out and say that they will be prepared to do something ,if the crowd consistantly stays above 20k because all of the 'stay aways' are just as bad as lowe and wilde imo, they are not backing the team in our hour of need. its time for a lot of fans to take a look at themselves and support the team through the bad times as well as the good.
-
im not a fan of pearson and i dont think he would have done any better or worse than JP has done,if reports are to be believed about his wage demands then imo we have saved money. what it comes down to is money and we aint got none,so the right financial decisions have been made to try and stabilise the clubs finances, they may not be the right footballing decisions but they have delayed us from going into admin and kept the banks happy for a while.
-
do we need him and would he come? i would like to see him back in some capacity (if we could afford him), i think bart especially would benefit from having the great man around.

it has nothing to do with tv,we lost because coventry were better than us. you are right though, that performance has certainly put off more fans than it will attract.
