  1. i dont think he would have done any better here than JP tbh but we will never know. spurs were happy with hoddle at first, man city were happy with ball at first, sunderland were very happy with bigmac at first, arsenal are very happy with walcott, spurs are very happy with bale, chelsea are very happy with bridge, blackburn were very happy with shearer, arsenal were very happy with williams............blah blah blah.the list will be added to. no point looking back>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>forward is the way to look.
  2. why is it that joggers or dog walkers always find dead bodies..... they must be guilty. the title should be murdering.
  3. what time train is everyone catching?
  4. you forgot the gesture towards the bench by letissier when he scored.....he more or less indicated 'up yours branfoot'. those were the days when the fans had the last say, nothing like the happy clappy sing a few lowe out chants type of namby pamby cant be bothered sh1te we have today.
  5. i dont think we have suffered anymore or any less than say watford, charlton, crystal palace, coventry, forest or norwich......thay have all had good stints in the prem and most of them are languishing in the lower half of the league with us. our problems started by not being able to keep hold of the majority of our premiership players when we were relegated.we invited trouble by putting a clause in their contracts which halved their wages.....this encouraged them to look elsewhere. some people say that this action had to happen to stop the club going under, but i disagree.we were still operating as a premiership club and our attendances were still very high for a club that had been relegated and we were recieving the parachute payments. instead of lowering their wages the club should have written a clause in their contracts that said that they had to stay at least one season if we were relegated, to at least try and bounce straight back up.for this they would still get their high wages,i think it would have worked and it would have been a better gamble than giving burley £7m to spend, money that we didnt have and are now paying for. players are only driven by money these days and i think that this would have been a more viable option. the teams in 2nd and 3rd place in this league (birmingham, reading) have done exactly that, they have somehow managed to keep hold of the majority of their premiership players and it is no coincidence that they are heading back to the premiership. lowe may have thought he was doing the right thing but imo he was being over cautious too soon,we should have carried on running the club premiership style for at least a year and then looked at other ways. gambling,as we did, effectively chasing our losses was a stupid thing to do and that is why we are here today.lowe may be partly at fault for our relegation but wilde and crouch are at fault for our present situation through their stupidity and 'live now pay later' attitude.
  6. as usual this has gone a bit off topic. all im trying to find out is wether or not trying to get the lost thousands through the gates would work and would it be viable.also how the season tickets holders would react. dont turn it into a 'we hate lowe' thread or 'im a better fan than you' thread.theres plenty of these threads already on here.
  7. if you read my post the quid tickets will only goto the fans that havnt been since we were relegated or it could even be extended to those who have not attended since perhaps our first season in the championship.im estimating it would probably be about 10k?? give or take a k. so the regulars who attend wont be targeted with the £1 tickets.
  8. have a feeling that the stay aways that are not staying away because of lowe are jumping on the 'lowe out' bandwagon to justify their absence. i honestly believe that if lowe were to walk now,the attendance would not increase by any significant amount, maybe a few hundred at most. the 'bandwagon jumpers' will just jump on another excuse as they will never admit they are staying away because we are in the chamionship. the single biggest factor for the lack of support is that we are not a a premiership club playing against premiership opposition. the 'lowe outs' have insignificant numbers imo, certainly not enough to influence any great change to our circumstances but the 'premiership only' fans could change our fortunes significantly. heres a thought...... i think that we would be better off trying to attract these fans back rather than the minority.if i were lowe i would send a letter to every fan on the database who hasnt bought a ticket since our relegation and offer them a ticket for a quid, lets say 10k tickets, perhaps only about 7k would take up the offer but out of those 7k you might get 2 or 3k who would start coming again on a regular basis. the club cannot lose, they get a few 'bums on seats',they get a few quid from the 'bums on seats' and the 'bums on seats 'may come back again.not only that but lowe will gain a little bit of popularity, the club will be seen to be doing something in the eyes of the bank and the fans and the stadium will look a little less empty. what have they got to lose? some season ticket holders will be p1ssed off but they could be appeased by a free ticket to a cup game or something.
  9. id agree with that, loaning him out to the lower leagues will bring him on quicker than we could.
  10. i didnt go to the preston game but i understand he had a cracking game up there. last week he seemed way out of his depth and this week he showed a couple of flashes of the player he will become but passed the ball backwards far too much and looked like bambi on ice in parts. hopefully he will fulfill his potential as he does have something about him but he could quickly slide into obscurity if he is not careful.
  11. they are all in trouble in someway,in fact most clubs in the league have their own problems but i would say that watford and us look a bit dodgy.
  12. i saw lowe today driving to the ground, his hair seems to be getting rather long....is he trying to get down with the kids or is it a disguise?
  13. well i did have a knife to their throats,do you think that influenced their opinions? :-)
  14. the sending off, according to a few wolves fans i spoke to after the game. they said that if we had started with 10 we would have probably beat them. they are surprised they have done so well this season and said we are only a decent striker away from being a good team. nice to know that the away fans think we are a decent side.
  15. good shout,i think lowe was loving the ref today,it kept him off of the front pages.
  16. lasted all of 20 seconds. if you really want lowe out then its got to be a constant chant, anything else is just embarrassing. or does the majority not actually want him out??
  17. how can anybody respect the ref when he puts in a display like that. he's inviting trouble.respect is earnt. worst display from an official i have seen for a while.
  18. i take it you are one of the stay aways? well fvck you again, this is one of the lows bigboy........where are you now. there is no excuse,we are all p1ssed off but we dont turn on the club. did you offer to pay extra when saints were doing well? get to st marys and stop making lame excuses about lowe blah blah blah. it dont wash with me.
  19. im with ya... but you forgot....... fvck all the stay aways and fairweather 'fans',especially the ones who moan about lack of investment but dont stick their hands in their own pockets.....fvck you.
  20. very funny.
  21. firstly they are all driven by money, that is why they have got where they have.secondly imo wilde has a problem with crouch, something more than we know went on behind the scenes between the two that prompted wilde to back lowe, probably something that threatened his investment. the duo of wilde and lowe is nowhere near ideal but i still believe that if crouch was still in charge we would be further down the road to ruin than we are now.i hope that the lot of them do the off asap as they have all had a crack at the job and in there own ways have failed but somebody has to do the job until something better comes along and that could be a long way off.
  22. rubbish.......we are not past the point of return, players will be sold in january to make sure. if i remember rightly our break even point as regards to crowd numbers is now around the 17k mark,if we win a few games in a row and win a couple of fa cup games then there is no reason why we cant achieve that 17k per game. admittedly we are just treading water but we could effectively tread water for years as long as the wages are kept low and a couple of players are sold here and there. other teams manage it and have done for years we just have to shake of this big club mentality and learn to live with our plight, its hard but thats the way its got to be. hopefully things will change for the better but unfortunately hope doesnt pay the bills so all of us have to be a bit more realsitic in our expectations. at best we are a mediocre championship club,we are no longer big time charlies and the quicker we get used to it the more enjoyable it will be supporting saints. looking back and constantly picking over past mistakes will make no difference to our present plight it will just make you bitter.
  23. lets say we lose to wolves and that starts a chain reaction which ends in lowes departure (very unlikely imo) would this mean that crouch gets his job back? and then lowe again comes back to oust crouch, and then crouch hits back.....etc etc on and on. do you want this to happen?,because i dont,we dont need the constant power struggles.it is the tit for tat between the major shareholders that is damaging the club. we need a clean sweep to get rid of the lot of them imo,i dont rate wilde and crouch as they are amateurs, lowe has a bit of professionalism about him but it is obvious that he upsets more people than he pleases but i think i would prefer lowe to still be in charge if i had a choice between the lot of them.
  24. losing to wolves will change nothing, probably losing to a team lower than us might ***** up a few ears but thats about it. what exactly do you think losing to wolves will achieve? to wish failure on a football team you have supported for years is crazy.why not go the whole hog and stand with the wolves fans tomorrow. you might be p1ssed off,we all are,but there is no need to make the situation worse for those of us who still actually want to support the team and not wish ill on their chances. i understand the old saying 'being cruel to be kind' but in this case i dont think it applies. we need to survive,we need to support and we need to attend,we dont need to hope that the team lose to get rid of lowe that decision is out of our hands.
  25. these things happen, just look at leeds,it took less than 5 years for them to fall and they hit the higher heights than we did so in a way they had more to lose. if you stop going then you are denying the club precious income, how is that going to help our situation? did you ever offer to pay more when we were flying high in the league, playing entertaining football and getting to the fa cup final? you cannot decide not to support a team just because they dont buy a player you rate or employ a certain manager or are not doing too good on the pitch.lowe might be many things but he has always been very cautious with the pennies so im sure your money will be safe. what would you like the club to do with your money? what would make you happy? what would make you come back to being a proper fan and not a fairweather one?
