  1. i nice piece of positivity. how refreshing.
  2. crouch was a failure because he failed to maintain his position, not once but twice. i dont know what side of the fence that you sit with regards to lowe but im sure that lowe would have been hung, drawn and quartered if it was his idea to shut the corners and cancel the free bus rides.lowe has also loaned out most of the major earners yet gets crucified for it. i am not a lowe supporter and equally i dont think much of crouch but if you tar lowe with the failure brush then the failure brush must also tar crouch. oh,and i forgot to mention the whole Paul Allen thing that crouch was so eager to have on his cv that he failed to do some basic checks to see if it was the real deal.
  3. exactly what i was trying to put across. lowe maybe faling but crouch had a crack and failed so did wilde, perhaps it doesnt matter who sits in the seat, perhaps the club has had its day. i dont pretend to know the ins and outs of what goes on at the club but it seems to me that the hotseat is a poison chalice that nobody wants.perhaps the club is so restricted that nobody can do a decent job,if this is the case then the only way forward is either a major financial injection or starting again from scratch, which i guess is administration.
  4. i remember the last few weeks or burleys reign and the saint radio was criticised on air by a listener that had phoned in,basically the listener was a bit p1ssed off that the reporter didnt probe burley about certain things and the reporter said that if they asked the questions that everybody wanted to hear then the club would no longer allow them to speak to the manager or give them any access to the club. this is why the echo never digs too deep.i know this to be true because a mate of mine works on the sports desk.
  5. lowe faithful....my arse,i dont give a flying fvck who is in charge. how do you propose that he be removed? you just cant say you want change, thats not good enough,if he was to leave, somebody has to do his job, somebody has to step into his shoes. the last time that lowe was ousted we ended up with something worse imo and i dont really want that to happen again.thats why it bothers me,it bothers me that people want him out so much that they fail to see further than the end of their noses at what might be lurking round the corner. i hope we do go onto better things but i cant see that happening in the near future with or without lowe.
  6. the echo is sh1te,any controversial letters are heavily edited to suit there own views, they are too scared to poke too deep because they know they will be gagged by the club and lose all privilages.
  7. when bassett applied for the job the situation must have been ok,so what has changed his opinion? or was he happy to be a yes man but feels a bit dirty about the whole thing now?
  8. you will have to take the leadership from him. he isnt going to go on his own accord. if the banks dont force him or this mysterious person waiting for the right moment(yeah right) then somebody with big balls needs to step up to the plate... is there anybody out there with big balls? a lorry load of cash? or a gun? otherwise he is staying exactly where he is. until somebody actually comes up with a realistic, viable alternative then this is how it is going to be. you can shout 'lowe out' all you like and as loud as you like but if you aint got one of the above he aint listening.
  9. the shirley pub meeting has nothing to do with what i think about JP,do you think that one meeting with the management would sway my judgment? all i said about that was that JP seemed a good bloke and i hoped that he would get the backing so we could see the best of him.in fact the pub meeting was the 3rd time that i have met him and i had the same opinion before i met him the other night. the alternatives that you and UM have proposed are history, NP has long gone for whatever reason and he wont be coming back,so that doesnt make it viable or realistic.the alternatives i am on about are ones that can be done now,we have what we have but if you are not happy with it then propose an alternative. correct me if i am wrong but are we not already playing a mix of youngsters and experinece? i agree with you on the point about trying to get the crowds coming back,i have 4 season tickets but i dont care how we do it,if it means i end up losing out then so be it but i think you will find that there are a lot of season ticket holders out there that will be p1ssed off and wont probably renew if they see that they are being done over. where is the proof that what lowe and wilde are doing is a 'mad experiment',do you honestly believe that they have the time and money to start experimenting/gambling,do you honestly think that the banks will allow lowe to play with the club like a toy............of course they wont. the banks will step in long before it gets too desperate, they will force the changes on lowe, but they wont be the changes that everybody hopes for they will be an even cheaper option just to keep the club afloat. ok lowe and wilde dont deserve to be here, both have in their own ways added to the situation we find ourselves in but where is the queue of people willing to put money into the club? lets say that lowe and wilde leave today, then what? would the attendance rise on saturday? would the team play better football? would everybody be happy? would the banks sigh with relief? no,nothing of any merit would change apart from a few people would be happy that they have left and apart from maybe crouch there would not be anybody willing to take the job. tbh i dont give rats arse who runs the club,i dont blame the fans for the problems as you have said ,but i do take offence to fans that stay away, not spending a penny on the club and then moan about the finances. dont you think that calling the stay aways and moaners the 'real fans' is a bit of a slap in the face for the fans that attend every week? i can see that you have the same regard for the fans as lowe does, probably why you seem to clash. everybody needs to put their differences on the back burner and try and get behind what we already have in place.causing mischief seems to be a big problem on here, especially from some users who think they are more important than they are and who also think they represent the masses.how wrong they are.
  10. so what do you propose as a realistic, viable alternative? perhaps it wasnt the only avenue but where is the proof that it wasnt? i believe that if crouch was still here we would be furthur in the sh1t financially than we are now,he had a live now pay later attitude,an attitude that sends clubs to an early grave, leeds being a good example. listen, i agree that things are bad and that the club could probably be run a bit differently but the constant witch hunt to lay the blame at somebodys door will kill the club off long before lowe does. it has got to stop as it is not helping our situation at all. i am 1 of the loyal 14000 and i want to continue to be for a long time but if this sh1t flinging carries on i wont have a club to support imo.
  11. rightly or wrongly there is a reason that lowe wants to play the youngsters and that is to get them in the shop window. when will people realise that our academy/youth system is just a cash making machine, always has been and always will be.its what keeps this club going and and keeps the shareholders happy. if that is seen as interfering then so be it,lowe should explain to every potential manager that this is the case and then there wouldnt be any problems. dave bassett could be seen as being a bit bitter about his experience here which is understandable.
  12. the simple truth is that probably 99.9999% of saints fans dont know the truth about what is happening at the club and what the plan is. lowe is getting the blame for the things that are happening but is this justified? some people call it 'lowes experiment' but he is not stupid,do you all honestly believe that lowe would experiment when we havnt even got the money to pay for toilet rolls........of course not. do you honestly think that lowe actually wants things to be like they are.....of course not,if he had a choice he would go out and employ a top flight experienced manager and then go and blow a few £m on some decent signings. im not trying to defend the bloke but some of you are so blinded by the whole lowe thing that common sense seems to have abandoned your heads. lowe is partly responsible for our demise but if you lot had your way he would get the blame for everything bad in the universe. its time to give the witch hunt a break,it is slowly killing the club.
  13. nonsense...........what about who would have appointed Mcmenemy when we did,and the seriously tainted hoddle?,WGS after he took coventry down, alan ball only had minimal experience and that is just SFC. what about many numerous clubs in the league.....keane at sunderland, southgate at boro, ince at blackburn all inexperienced managers, they have to start somewhere. the only thing i can say about the JP situation is that we were not really in a position for experiments, but that could also be said about pearson,he was an experiment as well. we needed a proven manager when we employed pearson and we didnt get it,we also needed one when we employed JP and we didnt get it,now i fear it is too late.
  14. from what i can gather, after meeting them both the other night is that they are both in it together,i really cant see wotte taking the helm if jan is elbowed, they came as a package and i think they will leave as a package. the only thing i can say about the meeting the other night is that wotte tended to answer the questions about finances etc and jan tended to answer the questions about the playing side of things so perhaps wotte is closer to lowe than JP.
  15. i dont think any of you are being realistic...... all of the managers who wont come whilst lowe is here(apparently) wont be coming as there is nobody else to take lowes place, nobody else wants the gig. all of the managers who are decent wont come because they will want money to spend so that leaves us with the dregs........and the dregs are basically what we have already got. i really cant see the point in replacing like for like and again hoping that things will come good.it probably wont. the options we have got are :- lowe has something up his sleeve that will surprise us all. - maybe lowe hasnt got fvck all up his sleeve and we carry on. - probably a takeover occurs and lowe gets the elbow. - unlikely
  16. dont get me wrong steve,i firmly believe that a good manager pays for himself but good managers who can achieve virtual miracles with no money are very thin on the ground. JP is a good man and i would like to see him given a decent chance with some money but i dont think it will happen.i fear he will be expected to plod along as he is now, scraping a point here and there in the hope that it will be good enough to survive. i dont want the man to go,but i think he is the right man at the wrong time.he needs to be backed financially in january and this includes not losing any of the more decent players but i really dont think it will happen.
  17. none of them are going anywhere,we cannot afford a compensation package or another manager.
  18. can they?.......well i didnt witness any yesterday,in fact it was all too easy for bristol to push us around without even a wimper,a dodgy ankle tap retaliation or even a strong glance in the direction of the offending player. and it is p s y c h o.
  19. i know it is compulsary these days but i just feel that its all a bit too nicey nicey for my liking. when i used to play football i wouldnt have entertained shaking hands before the game, especially when its a bit of a grudge match,i wanted to be fired up and focused on the job in hand, not 'doing lunch' with the opposition. the 'edge' to football is slowly being eroded, the game is being handed over to the pretty boys, the divers like ronaldo, they are getting far too much protection and being nice to each other is just another nail in the coffin. for me the game is about giving it everything you have got, including aggression(nothing illegal) for 90 minutes and then shaking hands after the game, win lose or draw. if i was a rugby player i wouldnt have given the haka the air time,i would have turned my back on all the nonsense and would have relished in not giving it respect.i could never understand why the opposition would stand there and watch it,i would have refused. exactly what has this shaking hands thing achieved? i wonder what would happen if the players refused to shake hands before the game?
  20. coventry are not exactly setting the world alight.
  21. tbh jan said the other night that the majority of the players live in ocean village but are too afraid to even go shopping in town for fear of getting abused. not an ideal situation for the youngsters.

    new song

of course, why didnt i think of it.......what a great way to inspire the team, you're a genius.
  23. i hate to say i told you so................personally i dont think he is good enough to step up to arsenal, hes not even good enough for us imo.
  24. unfortunately there are a certain element of 'fans' who will never be happy regardles of what the team achieves,if we were the best team in the land and we were winning the champions league every year they would still moan that we could do better.there is also an element who will never be happy with what the team achieves whilst rupert lowe is around. these are the people who will always try and disrupt a good meaning meeting for their own purposes. i know the taxi driver, and i also know that he thinks he speaks for the majority........he will never speak for me. because he cant get the answers he wants to hear form the man he despises ,he takes great delight in badgering lesser employees of SFC to give him the answers.fool. i may not welcome his kind to the meetings but i certainly wouldnt turn them away, they have an opinion and they are free to ask questions as much as you or i,but the questions they ask are usually not always relevent to the people present which is a pointless waste of everybodys time.
  25. theres a bloke sat in front of me who shouts and screams in block 35 is that him?
