🤣 if you seriously think Charles is the best player in his position in the league you are in cloud cuckoo land. I am not going to list those that are better as If you can’t see them, then you don’t know football. if you think Azaz and Fellows (as good as they are) were the very best in their positions in the league last year you live in cloud cuckoo land. I will give you a clue- check out the EFL team of the season last year! Armstrong wasn’t top scorer in his last full season in this league and scored three was it for West Brom last year in sixteen games? (In a team which had your best winger in the league to set him up?) again if you think he is the best in his position then you are in living in cloud cuckoo land. He is OK and will score goals but there are better players in the league who will score more. Edward’s…yeah wasn’t actually player of the season at a club which finished 15th in the table but again I will let you look up what he really got. Still may be rubbish but if you think this bunch of players are one of the top squads in the league you must have missed the whole of last season. I didn’t say it was a terrible squad but those who think we should be auto promoted or even play off guaranteed are watching a different team than me. Granted the squad should be doing better than the position they are, mid table or just tickling the last play off place maybe but nothing better than that. But never mind you carry on living in cloud cuckoo land where there is only one issue and it’s Still and our squad are good enough to get 13 points in the premier league. 🤣 also I am not fact checking anymore of your shit… use facts of F off

And yet put them up for sale and who would want them? we sold our best players to West Ham and Everton.. mid to lower premier league… we couldn’t push Aribo and Edozie out the door… we effectively gave away some players sending them on loan in their last year of contract just to get rid.. the keepers? Hmm OK if being in a squad that got promoted is the qualifier for top tier then our measurement massively differs…personally I would say Keeper is a massive issue for the squad? I like Manning but I know many disagree… Arma went on loan to this league last year and scored? Stephens? This place went nuts when he got a new contract. Edward’s? Well it’s either he ain’t that great or the other four at the back are shit as we don’t keep clean sheets do we? I think only 4 teams have conceded more than us so far? that’s not bad luck. i think Azaz, Fellows, Charles and Scienza are probably the only four who are of any quality but sit in such a mediocre squad that they probably won’t perform to their best level. look at how the three teams who went up all already have achieved pretty much as many points as we got in the whole season last year… the squad is poor, even at this level it doesn’t have any individuals that I would say are the best in their position in the league. More organisation would probably help but we lack pace, we lack creativity, we lack anyone who can hit the net, we lack strength and we lack the ability to keep a clean sheet.

People keep saying we have a quality squad etc etc but I am not sure where this confidence comes from? Perhaps reality is we have just have a poor quality squad? Bloated with a lack of players who can dominate or even turn a game. Therefore a manager like Still who wants to let players express themselves would have no chance. If we had an organiser like Dyche, Fat Sam etc (not suggesting those)..they probably would get better results but I don’t see much in our squad which suggests- should the unthinkable happen and they went up to the premier league- anything other than they would be challenging the record lowest points again.

Not sure they are very good either, losing to Wednesday at home isn’t a great sign…. I think we just made them look OK

Not sure it’s that bad but last week even the ball boys looked like they can’t be bothered. They sit and watch whilst our players gesture for the ball…. I miss the days of Cortese (like him or loathe him he had purpose) when it felt like even the ball boys were drilled in helping the team…. Now it feels direction less everywhere including the first team maybe except the self service beer….and I think that’s a different company we subcontracted too.

I think there is a lot of evidence of form flowing from one season into the next, just like 19/20 to 20/21 when we finished strongly and started really well. Unfortunately given our end to the season, I think it is more than likely that that will carry over this year and IMO we will be bottom three at Christmas. I can't see us having the financial clout to attract anyone who would be capable of changing it. So for me I think this season we may be one of the teams who gives a bit of hope to those coming up, that there are a couple of teams already in the prem who may give them a chance to stay up!

Surely once we have eaten all the natural resources the more humans there are the better- They are a good source of protein? I reckon that's why the Chinese have relaxed the rule on two children..Stocking up the larder!

I do get that, but I think it probably works for us as much as it happens to us. I am sure there have been instances where we have used the fact a player wants to come to us over a competitor to ensure the price is where we want it to be?

I agree, it takes two to tango and the closer that the player gets to the end of a contract then the more it tempting it must be to run it down and take the bounty that comes with a free transfer. I didn't mean that the club are to blame, apologies if it read that way..I think it's just they way it is now, if any club doesn't keep topping up contracts to keep them at 2 years plus then the run the risk of the contract being run down. However, you don't want to be giving everyone really long contracts or you risk ending up with some players you can't get rid of (whether it because they aren't good enough or they are injured etc. I think it's a no win scenario for the club, i don't blame them for the situation and I don't think the players should be blamed. It's just business and each party have to do what's right for them- there isn't any sentiment involved!

By running the contract down the player will get better wages and a better signing on fee, due to the lack of a transfer fee. You are suggesting the player takes less money to give the club more income? If we let the player get within a year of the end of his contract then that's the clubs fault. BTW aren't we rumoured to be doing exactly the same to Blackburn? Not long left on the contract so we offer to pay less? It works both ways and I don't see it as "shafting" the club, more that way things are now.

Why don't they just not look at the comments on social media? Or use some of their millions to employ someone to block any dodgy message before they look at it? Isn't that problem solved?

I don't get this, We are already probably the least hostile away ground in the league, I am not sure that we need to start clapping and cheering opposition players, just because they played for England. They feel comfortable enough already. I am also sure that should we actually win in Qatar, Marcus Rashford won't be dedicating it to the Southampton fans for their polite clapping.
