You've just answered your own query. System Restore takes the system files back to an earlier state. Any non-system files are not changed, deleted or otherwise.

Don't blame him. Newcastle United are a club who never seem to get their house in order. They have everything that a club could want, yet they underachieve time and time again. Yet another wasted opportunity.

He could have been using it TODAY 10:11 AM. This may be a good time to say to people - if in doub't, DON'T DELETE..! At least until you've had a chance to check on what you're deleting, or copied the data to disk.

I agree, but I would go even further and suggest that there is one rule for Manchester United, another for the remaining Top 3, and yet another for the rest in the Premiership.

Your crazy paving looks nice in that ancient way.

Now I've learned something..!

Well, there's an eventual step.... across.

Not according to Bernie Ecclestone. Apparently he's not keen to spend all the dosh neccessary to make QPR one of the big clubs. I must say, I would have thought the revamping of Loftus Road, or the building of a new stadium, plus the building up of a club big enough to persuade people away from Arsenal, Chelsea, and Spurs would be an expensive order. Better to pop down the M3 where Saints have everything in place and no competition. Actually, that's not a million miles away from the truth. Pompey the club team are Premiership standard. Pompey the club infrastructure are barely Championship standard. It can be faster to buy a playing standard than get a stadium from drawing board to finished product.

Absolutely true.

I was just thinking how that one incident is going to cloud that family's entire life. I'm not sure I'd be able to get over it, if it was me who was responsible, either by directly pulling the trigger or leaving the air gun around to be picked up. The little lad's life hardly got started. I know people die every day, and in worse circumstances, but this little boy stood an excellent chance of growing up to a happy life. A truly awful event.

I think series 1 and possibly parts of 2 are the weakest [sorry Ponty], apart from the last series, which didn't reach the heights of the middle series. Even so, there are some stand our episodes, and even when there are not stand out episodes, there are some parts of episodes which are face cheekbone achingly funny. Anyone who doesn't find Smoke Me A Kipper, or Gunfight Of The Apocalypse legendary episodes, just doesn't have a funny bone, whether they laugh hyterically at The Office, Extras, Little Britain, League Of Gentleman, etc... or not. Alternative characters like Ace Rimmer and Duane Dibley just add to the chuckles. http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=qcgHMe9Ek_o http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=dwyanSMayf4 Terrible comedy..? You must be joking..!

Never lost it's appeal for me. We were awash with it's brilliance, so we started to take it for granted. But I remember it was the only decent thing on NZ-TV back in the early 1990's. Occasionally these days, I'll watch an episode on DAVE, and it turns out to be one I've never seen. Great stuff. I don't want just one episode. I want a series. Do I understand correctly that Craig Charles is on Coronation St now..? What a fall from grace..! Lister would have been appalled.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't that the film in which Martin Sheen had a heart attack during the making of it..?

Sadly no-one else has seen it apart from Me and TG. I'll merge them all at some point.

Hmm, the problem with the Michelin rear is that it has such a narrow heat band in which it works well. Hence, during Laguna Seca, when Lorenzo's Yamaha spat him off while applying power as it hadn't reached any sort of grip, yet by the end, other Michelin rears were wearing out**. The Bridgestones were relatively fine. I just think Michelin have to get their act together, because they're being trounced. **Apparently, Michelin brought along tyres of the wrong heat value. They thought Laguna would be hot. It was cool. All the weather forecasts said it would be cool. Bit of an error when people are depending on your product.

Bloody hell that was good stuff.

I think you need to pop a in there somewhere LGSC or otherwise someone is going to take your last post seriously..!

Well of course it's a media thing, and supporters have latched onto it. In Sven's case it may have been appropriate. He spent so many years trying to find an effective game plan, and when it went well everybody thought England were worldbeaters. Every time it went badly, everybody thought he was the worst international manager, and his players were useless. Plus everyone wondered why England played in such a regimented style, and seemed have no answer to opposition tactics. In fact, no Plan B. JP has been in his position at Saints for 5 minutes. He wants our players to play the passing game. Great. I love the passing game. It's the best, most entertaining way of playing football. But sometimes you're going to lose with it, because on occasions, it isn't the most effective. JP is just starting to find out how good our players actually are, against opposition. Whether they can take game after game that matters. Whether they can play well if they are only 80-90% on their game, rather than 100%. Whether they can play the passing game on sh!tty pitches as well as on the relative billiard table of St Marys. Whether they can play well when it's bloody cold and wet, probably somewhere northerly, and where the wind blasts them in the face, or down the back of their neck. And we are going to be finding out whether JP has it when a trend might start where things don't quite go to plan. Will he have the tactical nous to change when it is required..? I think he will. He has a very good record of achievement with young players on very little money. He could continue that whether these are the best young players he has had under his management, or the worst. Win or lose, will he get the best out of them..? I think he will. So whether or not the phrase means anything, I think he'll have a Plan B.

I wouldn't even begin to argue the point, ESB. I'm just going on personal experience of the wiring in my home. To illustrate [hangs head in shame], I once changed all the lighting switches in the house during a redecoration. Not a problem, except for one, which wouldn't operate. I checked out the switch - OK, and then swapped it over - fine. I eventually traced the problem, but not before darkness had begun to fall, and I turned on the lighting circuit so that I could see what I was doing..! I kept getting tiny jolts through the wiring, and thinking there was something amiss because of it. I mean... how f**king stupid can you get..? Anyway, as the clanger crashed through my flooring, I realised what I'd done. I turned off the circuit, got a torch, traced the problem, and never got a shock again. And the lighting still works, 8 years on. Btw, that's a good motto, and I do use your always, always, always procedures.

Go to a meeting and find out.

Just remembered this thread was about Vietnam films. I was reading down the thread which made me forget the title. That narrows the field down considerably. In fact, I don't think I've ever seen a film made from Vietnam.

Not a huge fan of war films. Although I can think of quite a few that have given me a good or even great experience in parts, most I have considered to be uneven in quality. I'm talking about films like: Good Morning Vietnam Full Metal Jacket Saving Private Ryan U571 The Dueliists Often the best war films are ones that are the grittiest, and possibly not the best for viewing. I mean, should we actually enjoy a war film..? Well the ones that have left me feeling like I experienced every minute, and I would almost start the film off again are: Dr Strangelove Catch 22 Master and Commander** **Just like football existing before the Premiership, there were wars before WWI & II

Big things happened today. Stoner fell off for a 3rd race, but the 2nd time in a row when in the lead, and being pressured slightly by Rossi. Rossi now has a 75 point gap, and the Championship should be his with only 5 races left. Lorenzo has come back to form now he's healed, and came in second. Pedrosa shot through at the start, but gradually went backwards as he wasn't happy on his Michelin tyres. And that's the biggest thing. It looks like Honda will switch to Bridgestone tyres, and if they do, so will every other factory, and rich satellite team. It might end up with there being a boycott of Michelin tyres, as they are simply not as good as Bridgestones. They've only had 3 wins early this season. Every other winner has been Bridgestone shod. That's not going to do Michelin's motorcycle tyre sales any good. In fact, we might even see Pirelli and/or Dunlop come back in, if they're up for it, because Bridgestone don't want to supply everybody. They want to beat other suppliers. Back to the race. Not the best, but not the worst either. Plenty of overtaking, but in the more minor places. Stoner shot out into the lead, and the only one remotely able to go with him was Rossi. Then the lead, at around 3 seconds, started to come down slightly - and then Stoner fell off. Casey certainly likes to pressure the front tyre, and when he presses really hard, the front end goes down. As Olympic was commenting on the last race - Stoner was doing this on the LTR Honda in 2005, when under pressure. Basically, he has to learn to ride slightly slower and finish. Then he'd get points. Notable others; Elias rode his satellite Ducati excellently to finish 3rd, and it would seem to be a stupid decision to let him go elsewhere for next season, as he is the only rider who seems to have worked out how to ride the Ducati practically as fast as Stoner. James Toseland came in 6th again after a real dice with the riders around him, especially Dovizioso, and a last lap dash by Capirossi, who overtook him, but James got him back. That was fun to watch. Randy de Puniet went back to form slightly earlier than normal by falling off before a lap was completed. How many times has he fallen off in his career now..? Oh, and look where the factory Kwackers finished. Not good for the Kawasaki reputation at all. San Marino MotoGP Result: 1. Valentino Rossi (Italy) Yamaha 44 mins 41.884 secs 2. Only just got in from sailing, so have learned that Saints lost, apparently deservedly too; and that later today the premier class bikes are once again going to be dicing with each other. Stoner is once again on pole, but he can win every race from now on, and as long as Valentino is on the podium with him, the Champonship is Rossi's. Of course, Rossi could breakdown or fall off. The impossible has definitely happened before, which is why Rossi is only a 7 times World Champion. San Marino qualifying result: 1. Casey Stoner (AUS) Ducati 1min 33.378secs 2. Valentino Rossi (ITA) Fiat Yamaha at 0.510 3. Jorge Lorenzo (ESP) Fiat Yamaha 0.586 4. Randy de Puniet (FRA) Honda 0.858 5. Toni Elias (ESP) Ducati 0.944 6. Dani Pedrosa (ESP) Honda 1.020 7. Chris Vermeulen (AUS) Suzuki 1.083 8. Shinya Nakano (JPN) Honda 1.116 9. James Toseland (GBR) Yamaha 1.274 10. Colin Edwards (USA) Yamaha 1.417 Frankly, I can't see Lorenzo being allowed to pass Rossi from this point of the season onward. And if he doesn't fall off [not guaranteed] he's a good moving chicane for other riders to try to get past. Not easy. Race live 1230-1415, BBC TWO and BBC Sport website
