  1. Spa is one of the Grand Prixs I do love to watch because it produces spectacular results. Also shows once again that Kimi is not the complete driver IMO. Hamilton just blew him away once the conditions became less than perfect.
  2. Shawshank is an excellent film IMO. But these things are all relative, and these lists are only useful as a guide. Saint Stevo prefers Pulp Fiction, which I don't like as it glorifies callous violence, and Dog loves Goodfellas, which I think is an ok'ish film. Horses for courses really. Obviously, enough people thought Shawshank was better than other films. It still doesn't make it the best. It is one of my favourites though, and often these things can change with one's mood anyway. I was fixing a computer the other day, and A Matter Of Life And Death was on the TV. I stopped to watch a bit, and stayed until the end because it is another superb film. The best..? Well, no doubt some people would think so.
  3. Lap 5 and Brundle started doing a sum up, and I was off my seat to put the kettle on. You can spot these things from a mile away. Raikkonen appears to have remembered he's in a F1 Grand Prix championship.
  4. I've been asked to take a look at an old Freeview box that has stopped working after a software upgrade. It's a Labgear DTT100 which uses SetPal software. Now I'm aware that Freeview have made some network changes, and apparently, this has meant some boxes have stopped working. However, I'm wondering if anyone has found a method or button combination on the remote which can restore a software setting. It's not that I am desperate to make this thing work. For £20 or so, one can get another. It's just that an action was made by the service provider which actually stopped a piece of equipment, that was previously functioning perfectly well, from working. And apparently, their only response, and the manufacturer of the box itself, is to suggest owners of this model, and others, go out and buy a replacement. If I was an owner, and had the spare cash, I'd take the service provider and manufacturer to court for compensation and anything else I could think of. It's tantamount to vandalism.
  5. Seems as if he isn't the only one. Btw, any chance of using expletives just a little less. You've made your point. But even with the word filter we can work them out.
  6. I was thinking of pointing this out earlier... Then I thought, nah, why spoil their fun..? I reckon Al has spotted a nice bad case of photoshopping though. That offending bollard isn't even that well placed. They could have at least put it in the centre of its paving stone.
  7. His popularity amongst SFC fans is somewhere between zero and minus at present. And is unlikely to improve in the next few years unless his attitude, behaviour, and standard of play goes way up the scale. This sort of stunt, where he manages to be photographed in a petrol station obtaining free petrol is grounds for employing a PR assistant, because clearly he has no idea. Of course, all he needed to do was say to reporters, I just came in to get my car filled up with petrol, and they gave me £25 worth's free. I said, That's ok, I'll pay. Pass it onto the next customer. Then he would have at least come out of it with sort of dignity. This way, to ordinary earners, it's almost another form of stealing. Perhaps steering clear [sorry] would have been the best way to go.
  8. This one: http://www.miniclip.com/games/baseball/en/
  9. Yeah, you're right, but so am I. As DSM confirms.
  10. My Dad used to occasionally bring home a hand of bananas off the boats. This was usually accompanied by some inflated story about banana spiders. But the truth is, they were in the holds of the Fyffes banana boats down at the docks.
  11. Just to prove it wasn't a fluke I gave it another go straight afterwards. Usually this sort of thing reveals the fluke. Well it didn't.
  12. Print the screen. Save it to your HDD. Make a new message and look below for additonal options. You'll find a button marked Manage Attachments. Press this and upload the saved image from your HDD. It will appear as a link for people to click on and see. For an example, see my post above [on page 1 of this thread].
  13. Finally, I've cracked this bloody game on the hard setting.
  14. Completely blinkered British football thinking by Branfoot. MLT didn't come under the GB umbrella of a great football player. Yet in the same era, they all gasped at Brazilian players. And Pele himself said he would have MLT in an England national side. Because Matty broke the bloody stiff British mould, he couldn't be included. Yet Cruyff never tackled [what anyone would call a proper tackle], Best never properly tackled, Pele never tackled... need I go on..? Great players don't need to tackle. They get others to do that while they do what others can't - which is create, score goals and win games. Branfoot was a complete and utter pr!ck and I hope he now realises it.
  15. Your councilling is to have repeated viewings of Matt Le Tissier's two outrageously superb goals against Newcastle United, and to watch Branfoot tell Paul Moody to sit down until the smile gets back on your face. Then you can go on holiday..!
  16. Bit safe IMO. I thought Art was meant to be slightly out on a limb.
  17. If this was TMS I'd be saying Rule 1. But as it's not I'll say, leave that sort of comment for TMS. Eh..? But back to the topic: http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b00dccnr/
  18. Yes, I know... boring thread all about BBC's iPlayer. But there is a Hollywood film available for download or play. All Of Me, starring Steve Martin. Ok you say, so what..? Well this is non-BBC material. It's also a feature film. Normally, you'd pay for this sort of thing. Think about it. Well I think it's slightly interesting. But then I just missed out on buying a motorbike on eBay this evening, so I'm looking for every bloody positive I can at this moment.
  19. Inevitable really. KK won't be buggered about with. Also inevitably, that's makes him unemployable. Not that he needs to worry.
  20. Like your style.
  21. That's a shame. I've been looking forward to Hellboy 2 after the good humoured quirkiness of Hellboy.
  22. Latest update. Apologies if already posted: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/7598272.stm
  23. After a 3 month break, I'm back with The Dukes Of Stratosphear. And what a bloody pleasure it is to hear them again. Every single track is a delight. Wish they'd done more.
  24. Exactly the same with me.
