  1. It seems the misunderstanding comes from the very creative quoting from @AnilBhoyrul: "paying the unsecured creditors in full, in settlement of the CVA with creditors, which approved the sale of the assets in June 2012. We understand this is c. £1m (one million pounds Sterling)" Becomes: "paying the unsecured creditors in full" (obviously he'll blame the 140-character limit of Twitter )
  2. It's hardly a surprise that we won't reach consensus on the whole PFC saga. However, I think it's great that you come on here and offer your views as the arguments from various nutjobs are more credible when questioned. It's a shame about the whole POL situation where people can't even talk to each other anymore... I don't wish for PFC to die. Living within your means in L1 or L2 until finances are truly there for a push towards the Championship seems fair. However, when your focus is on the beauty of fan ownership I have no doubts that you would be better off starting anew, using the considerable amounts pledged to the PST to kickstart a new, healthy club with no skeletons in the closet...
  3. I haven't got anything to add to the responses already given - I just wanted to reiterate the notion that most in here would support a fan-owned club, but likewise most don't appreciate the glossing over of the atrocities done by persons connected to PFC and the "all is good, sky's the limit" approach from Appleton. And most can see the huge problems with the budget of the trust. Honouring the player compromises will tie up a lot of future funds - with your track record, do you really think the fans will be patient and accept economical restraints? I somehow doubt it... So in short: I fully applaud the idea of a fan-owned club, but do it right! Metaphorically that cup win is the deadweight pulling you under. If you have the courage to cut the ties, you can resurface and get some air.
  4. That was a real bad one... Oh the drama...
  5. The FL are not entirely spineless. They just seem to prefer to operate discreetly and let problems sort themselves out. PST honouring the compromise deals is a good thing - it's a step in the right direction where they place a part of their future funds in the hands of their creditors instead of in the hands of Simpleton the wheeler dealer...
  6. You are most probably right in this assumption - it is a huge amount of money. But even if they manage to strike a deal that is acceptable for the FL what are the remaining hurdles (apart from Kanu and Chinny)?
  7. Yeah, we've kept our eyes off the ball with the whole POL debacle. I think Kanu is lingering in the shadows somewhere and as you say, Chinny is a big hurdle. But I've lost track of the other issues that were ignored in the trust's bid...
  8. All right, I give up. The Paralympics have a feelgood factor that's just off the charts. During the Olympics it was tenacious Olympians compared to those greedy, lazy footballers. Now I look at a guy with only one leg doing 1m74 in high jump and think about that no-good playboy Usain Bolt Does it get much more real in the world of sports?
  9. If indeed they have dug up money for all player compromises, it's a big step nearer a realistic trust takeover. There are still major hurdles, but they've gone from 'absolutely impossible' to 'rather problematic' in the takeover scale...
  10. Great find - thanks for the link!!!
  11. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/19377897 "Barnsley had only 12 senior players available but they held on for the three points. The home side fielded a weakened starting XI because David Perkins, Luke Steele, Matty Done, Jim McNulty and Jim O'Brien were all unavailable." But... I thought... wait... that's not competitive?!...
  12. I know of fans in Aalborg, Århus and Odense, but interestingly I don't know any fans in Cph...
  13. I was sitting in a car from Cph to Aalborg during the match and had to rely on text updates :-/ Given the family situation I'd still classify myself as 'one for the future' in this thread...
  14. Did I blink and miss something there?!
  15. I agree. We shouldn't discard our chances against the weakest Arsenal side in many seasons. Yes, they got a fine win against Liverpool, but they've played some very mediocre football this season...
  16. 2-1. Mayuka, Guly and JRod on...
  17. Yeah!
  18. Maybe he was helping the mods close down the last desperate attempts of littering transfer deadline day with pointless threads?
  19. Phew, no real transfer window without a thread for little Mickey Owen. We left it late this time, though!
  20. Whatever he feels about this move, he can be proud of the shift he put in here. I hope he has a ridiculously great season with Forest!
  21. Alternatively Travis' "Sing" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G1f2M5G9KG8): "Ohh baby sign, sign, sign, sign, sign, sign, For the skills you bring won't mean a thing Unless you sign, sign, sign, sign"
  22. To the tune of Plant & Krauss "The Letter" ( ): "Caught out running With just a little too much to hide Maybe baby Everything's gonna work out fine Please sign the contract I pinned it to your door It's crazy how it all turned out We needed so much more Too late, too late A fool could read the signs Maybe baby You'd better check between the lines Please sign the contract, I Wrote it in my sleep With help and consultation from Nigel Adkins and Les Reed Please sign the contract that I wrote Please sign the contract that I wrote"
  23. If the Chuckle Bros were to disappear, I fear that the fruits of victory would all too soon turn to ashes in the mouth of our protagonist. There would be a great unbalance, a deflation of the drama offered by this play. Every duck noise made through a rolled up programme has been the nectar of this blog and has made great things flow from the fingertips of Billy ****e. It is imperative that these two unwitting muses are kept in the play at any cost.
