I agree. The moment you dish out punishment, then it's no longer an unwritten rule. Disappointed that Lusescu didn't haul him off but instead let him stay on and get two more goals. Also they could have let FCN get a goal but only half the Shaktar team wanted to do that. Not really useful

I agree. This seems to be part of the tactical setup and it is key to us retaining possession. I'm convinced that Gazza's "fault" was to not deviate from the instructions given - a more experienced keeper might have realised that this specific situation called for a punt. While we have no baseline to compare against, you could consider how many of the short passes lead to a goal being conceded vs. how many long punts would have fallen to the opposition for them to score. Sure, it looks and feels bad to concede that way, but during the last three seasons we've seen the fruit of being in possession and that sometimes starts with the keeper systematically playing it short instead of punting it.

I actually think Appy's reasons for resigning reveals a speck of hope for the future of the PST. Yes, they are underfunded and everyone knows it, but at least they have been showing Appy a future budget that is so restrained that it scared him away. It's probably not enough for the PST but it's a start. Now they need Whittingham to rip up the contracts of the expensive mercenaries and start recalling their youth players. Whittingham should know them very well from previously working with them. That would offer another tiny speck of hope for the PST to make ends meet. Overall, their chances are not good, but it's the first sign that they have lowered their ambitions to a slightly less unrealistic level...

And most evaluations in here have to be black/white superlatives - Fox is the worst defender ever, Davis is useless, Adkins is clueless, Lallana can't defend etc. Not really conducive for any kind of dialogue, but then again maybe that's not the ambition...
