The problem with trains is they turn slowly -
...Micheal Gilles was certainly Johnno quick that's for sure and was kind of a replacement for Danny Wallace who had left for United IIRC. I think David Lee was a David Jones purchase.

Possible re-siting of away fans at SMS
Yorkshire Saint replied to Ivan Katalinic's 'tache's topic in The Saints
Not odd. Just saying that if we had a terrace concept then I think a better home atmosphere would prevail perhaps negating the need to care where the away fans are in a stadium where it is pretty much the same all of the way around. If that's not the case then why are all other parts of the ground so quiet.. I'd say that the position of the away fans drawers are noiser fans in so if you move them, then our singers will move with them. Having read through other comments, I accept that moving them.around the corner away from behind the goal abit might be better. Just my opinion. -

I agree and feel the pain bro. This guy is giving us an opportunity to help him relay the message ... saying we are sh1t fans isnt one of them although ive seen plenty of fans with there thumbs up there arses at games .. thats a bigger problem than just the club. Being able to identify with a brand and safe standing may well be away back though. Keep the faith. -

First of all, thank you for the opportunity to give a view on this topic. My opinion is brief as by the nature of st Mary's being a bowel then the options to me are limited. Its all abit 6 and 2 threes. They are where they are or in the opposite corner where the family area currently resides. I don't see it makes much difference and the bigger question forbthe club i would imagine is more about generating and recreating our own atmosphere by way of safe standing and identifying with the players on the pitch. To answer the question, I'd leave as is and focus on other priorities. -
I hear the new manager came over to the fans at the end. Did he just come over and clap or was it more imotive ? Was the fans reaction very positive ?

Again, wrong but very very good

I'd a free that his positioning in both those goals and tracking was abysmal. But there is a lot of space down his side as a result of Cedric out of position I feel

Don't knock Salisbury and district league. Always need a ref.

Paper spin perhaps but unlikely to help the perception Hughes often portrays. Mark Hughes calls Southampton fans predicting his sack 'predictable' | Daily Mail Online https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-6425179/Mark-Hughes-calls-Southampton-fans-predicting-sack-predictable.html

Any inside knowledge on anything going on inside the walls at saints ? Players position on Hughes etc ..

So my first games at the Dell were under Nicholl, archers was the away end then. Where were the away fans before that, in one of the wings ?

Seen as a bit of a hard case ? Ha .. I'm not sure where you get that from but I'm not going to squabble with you i just have fond memories of Milton road and the songs we sang versus the current sterile feeling. I agree with a post above that a lot of this is in relation to being able to identify with the players as we did in league 1 and the championship.

Good call...

Ha ha .. not a bit topic then

I miss the Milton road and I miss many of the songs with retrospect. I think my favourite was: I can't drink and I cant drive but that doesn't really matter. Coz I come down from southampton and i can drive a tractor. I can plough and milk a cow and drive a great big mower. But the thing that I like most is to be a strawberry grower. Oooo arrrrrr oooo arrrr ooooo to be a Southener. I'm often surprised how many are never sung now, like wings of a sparrow. But what others so people remember and is it not worth trying to rekindle some ....
