Just on the train back to Yorkshire .. No doubt the team is set up better and we have shape. First half we were just a little slow on the ball albeit re confidence but then ruined all the hard work in the first minute of the second half. Personally I think if we continue this way, we have a chance if we beat Boscome and Swansea. I was in the Wembley inner circle and I can honestly say that bar 3 renditions of OWTS .. our support not good. I said this at the league cup final last year, it’s getting dire and embarrassing. Hazard was the difference today ... but all in all I don’t think there is to much to complain about bar Austin’s goal

There is a positive vibe around Wembley and the weather is blistering. It could be a long time until we experience a day like this again so let us enjoy it. It’s the hope that ultimately kills us but I for one will forget about relegation and all the other crap for one day. Up the saints

... London marathon weekend ... keep out of central London
-
What ever people want to say, the players are fighting for the shirt - win lose or drawer that’s a big step forward. If people want to question the importance of confidence just look at the difference that goal made. I’d do anything g for a repeat 45 minutes and 3 points

Wigan 0 Saints 2 - Post Match Thread
Yorkshire Saint replied to Secret Site Agent's topic in The Saints
Just got back. First thing to say was the pitch was truly dreadful .. as bad as I’ve seen, all sand and no bounce at all.. the ball really dragged and coupled with a swirling wind I could only imagine saints would improve after halfvtime. The first half was as bad as I have ever seen and they looked like the premier league team. One thing that worries me was seeing Bertrand give up on one Wigan attack and wave his arms in dismission. I accept Boufal left him exposed but they way Bertrand stooped worries me still. Second half we sorted our selves out, Gabi looked ok but the one on one summed him up from the back pass.. just not urgent enough .. penalty save looked top class from my view though. Carrillo was shocking but watching Hughes grill him I don’t think he will play much more this season ... Personally I think Stephens is a wink link and I though hojberg was a disgrace first half .. improved second half as did Stephens. At the end of the day it’s a good result where other clubs failed but we will need to improve in th PL .. I’d bring Romeu in for Hojberg, Maya for Stephens and Charlie for the Argie if fit next game. Final point I hope the girl in the Wigan stand to the left was ok after that knob threw the flare that landed on her .. that stand looked like it was close to erupting at one point. -
As fans we should come together (if we get through) how can it be fair to play spurs at Wembley .. atrocious decision

Well you can’t dispute he has said the right things in that interview. Big plus for me is that He is clearly an astute man and I can understand and relate to him better -
Question .. did Austin play under Hughes at QPR and if so did that coincide with one of his better goal returns ?
-
All but complete I’d say https://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2018/03/13/mark-hughes-favourite-southampton-job-aftermauricio-pellegrino/amp/ Something had to change but I certainly don’t feel as excited as I did when Hughes joined us as a player. He hardly set the world alight for us as a player, here is hoping he proves me wrong this time

Rightly or wrongly I just can’t see past Silva ... Saints need some stability for 2-3 years even if we go down and it’s win win for Silva as he needs a run of 2-3 years at a club to show he can hang around somewhere longer than 6 months. I really can’t see any other result. If not Silva they might go for Hughes but it can only be a manager out of work that’s for sure.

I really can’t believe that if we lose to Wigan the board would not act. As things stand, as bizzare as it seems we could stay up and qualify for Europe. This time next week we could be in the bottom 3 and out of the cup. Surely his job would be all but intenable

My dad on the farm in Salisbury hasn’t had milk collected for two days. Apparently the A303 is shut somewhere between A34 and Andover -
Coldest you've ever been at a Saints game

Would you believe it -
I voted for him to stay .. because as others have said it’s like the last day of the transfer window every day. Checking to see if he has gone yet ... F5 F5 etc and nothing’s bappening so perhaps if I accept he is staying .. and temper my need for his exit then really, this nightmare might end

Exactly - I just don’t understand why we didn’t start with the same 11 as WBA and Boufal
-
We don’t know if players are injured, fatigued or what ever but I’m surprised the starting 11 changed. ESP at home we need that outlet of pace that Boufal gives us. We are fighting but why do we keep giving teams a head start with awful goals
