The way the £ has gone done following Brexit that looks like a done deal. Like the NHS though, we won't see any money for the grass roots...

He's 1.90m so will make a change from all the midgets we seem to recruit..

Yeah, Canal Street here I come. Some of the lesbian bouncers are friendly souls but some of them scare me and I'm well built myself!

We did, but not enough...

No. That was even before tonight. Competent but not too much more.

Not sure why some of you have an issue with sports bras. :-) I've got a couple of shirts for training (not a wearer to games) but as I wait until I can get something in the sales it'll probably have grown on me by then. A few wins will help. I'm popping into M&S at Hedge End this evening, you've reminded me I could do with a new high impact bra, particularly if Rallyboy is playing 5-a-side tonight: his style is a bit Boris Johnson..

Some interesting comments on here. I occasionally watch a bit on youtube and there's no one really stands out as one who 'has it' like Bale and Shaw and before that Stevie Mills or Williams, where you could see the potential from the beginning. Mind you, in the younger group I noticed Vokins and Alfie Jones looking really assured for their age, with that little bit of presence that makes them stand out. I can see why a player like Gallagher divides opinion. I think he is faster than Pelle although his speed comes in over larger distances as he doesn't seem to be that quick from a standing start. I think his touch could be a lot better but after a difficult season and a growth spurt (so said his loan club manager) maybe he'll have a better time of it. What we didn't do last season is give the kids any experience off the bench. The season before, for example, Dom Gape came off the bench very late on in a game (Everton for Shane Long - I looked it up!). Such an experience does a number of things: the player learns to control their fears (and heart rate..), gives a bit of confidence, whets the appetite for playing more, acts as a stimulus to renew their training efforts and probably gives them a bonus into the bargain. Playing alongside experienced players also shows how they'd fit in and probably raises their game. I hope we see more of the youngsters this season when it's appropriate, and I suspect Puel will risk a bit more than Koeman.

What!? We've lost more than two players and signed more than Redmond? I'm off to the OS.

War chest? Ohio, you've let yourself down, the team down and the fans down. Please do not use tabloid terminology again: we expect more from you...

Cheers Danbert. I'm OK with the technical definition: I was just being the cynical self that this thread brings out in me. :-) New rhetorical question: why were they paid?!

I'm struggling with the definition of pro footballer who doesn't actually play. Still, Saints had Tommy Fourpast and Antony Pulis, so perhaps I'd better keep silent. Much as I quite enjoy training and kicking Rallyboy at 5-a-side my aim is to at least get off the bench at the weekend for the club I pay my subs to.

All those players in the quarter-finals, you mean? From Wales and Iceland and Poland, or do you mean English and Spanish world class players? Funny thing, football, what with being a team game n' all...

I'm not finishing reading that, I've just had a shower..

Interesting points, I saw them quoted in a BBc article, but seeing the journalist himself seemed to give them added weight. Esperons, mes gars!

Yeah, but what do the spinnaker and storm jib look like?
-
It would be nice if they gave out a few to local amateur teams...

Laughing _and_ shuddering! I like your reference to a Fratton Facelift, see a few around Havant way.

Won't we all want to go and give them the bird? Can't see the Northam being kind to Joe Hart..
-
Nah, 2pm. He wants to check the catering and the boardroom white burgundy.
-
Er, why? Crap? Too expensive? The only ones they reckon they could sell for er... money? I should really channel my Neil Allen and reformat the above into separate paragraphs, but can't be ar&ed.

Mind you, no currency problems at Hearts, Connah's Quay etc etc. Fancy wondering who's going to get through these early rounds. I hope The9 doesn't lose interest, we were relying on him for detailed and esoteric information about the tournament and the clubs! Is it a financial issue with having to replace your car then? Let's face it, Eurostar and flights should be a lot cheaper in the autumn when the schools go back..

Hmm, I've never been to Llandudno..
-
I agree, but didn't want to go too far over the top..
-
Yep, and playing an unfit Wilshere, not taking another wide player, dropping Lallana who at least in his previous game was moving off the ball and making things happen (even if he still can't shoot..), leaving Rooney on when his awful passing and general slowness produced groan after groan (and then laughter) in the pub I watched it in, with my Saints hat on why not give FF a match? And on and on...
