  1. How many words, to save me the pain of reading it?
  2. .. and if they lose?
  3. ..yep, and sub him if he gets booked..
  4. What a fascinating thread. The only conclusion I can come to is that a lot of people don't know what they are talking about and certain people have brought their own inimitable style to the arguments. Oh yes, and hypochondriac seems to be obsessed with the subject, so maybe his medicines have reacted badly. All in all I think it must be an aggressive male thing. In women's football we're far more accepting, and the straights don't get any grief at all.;-) I've certainly been subjected to low level homophobic abuse which I have ignored, life is too short. Anyway, I've got to go and pack as I've finished me cuppa and I'm flying off to be guest at a lesbian wedding tomorrow: some things have certainly got better.
  5. There's a good photo of him in a Holland shirt on our OS: controlling a ball but already looking up to see his potential options. Good players play with their head up and with awareness and he seems to do that, getting used to our league and its physicality after an injury is a different matter which will need more than 3 games to overcome.
  6. Yes, I saw the horses, and a guy whose shoe had been destroyed by a hoof and was laughing about it, but it all seemed a bit handbags. One police rider saying someone was involved, and the guy saying he wasn't.. Usual confusing stuff and I had a train to catch, but I didn't feel at risk or worried.
  7. Ah yes, watched the game and I noticed him when he came on as sub. Blistering pace, but he seemed to have a bit about him, and some good passing too. I made a mental note to keep an eye open for him. I believe he's sixteen turning 17 soon.
  8. Plus it's on a Sunday which must impact people in different ways. For those who are vital members of their Sunday side they may have to miss it. I'm nowhere near vital and we've got a big enough squad so I'll be at St. Marys..
  9. John McGrath - Desperate Dan
  10. Walcott was sent on before he'd completed his warm-up! It's now 2-0 BTW
  11. Perhaps they should tell the guessers to check our OS? Just listened to RK's presser. 'Did you expect the managerial change'.. 'No..., not so soon' (Or words to that effect..).

This board is a mine of information! :-)
  13. Just the interconnected nature of the body, I reckon - you know, 'leg bone connected to the shin bone, shin bone connected to..'. The way he's been running it looks like he's compensating for something: had an out of kilter pelvic girdle once and ended up with achilles tendonitis.. But at least he's not paying for private physio like I was!
  14. Bit worrying Koeman's talk about JR's foot injury/pain, so they may be managing that quite carefully which will have an impact on his appearance time.
  15. What were the pointless answers - off the top of my head I can only think of 14 managers since the war?
  16. Thanks for that Guan..
  17. I thought you were the European Tour specialist..? /innocent whistle/
  18. Don't be coy, go on, tell us.. ;-)
  19. Thanks whoever first put up that image. Off to footie training in Portsmouth shortly and I've just printed off a copy. :-)

This has just reminded me to go and give my two bottles of sloes a shake. Picked a few weeks ago, but King Sombourne is quite far north... I've got some more in the freezer but not enough for another bottle: perhaps I could make sloe and blackberry, as I've got those in the freezer. I've also got a bottle of 95% genepi under the stairs which I should really dilute and bottle..
  21. Buy you a pint next time I see you! PS It was good to see you last match.
  22. A friend of mine flies 4 seater Robinsons and she's promised me a trip as she builds her hours. I laughingly suggested an away match for my Sunday team - how cool would that be - but any more serious suggestions for places with a helipad?
  23. Indeed, that's the problem, and the old distinction between Grammar and Secondary Modern (and perhaps now with Comprehensives) is that the latter were looked down on and seen as evidence of failure. Still very much a class thing, I think. You make some good points about vocational education, which in the UK, to use a teachers' phrase "could do better". Personally I went to a Grammar school in the mid-60s/early 70s, and although it wasn't a bad school some of the teaching left a lot to be desired. To be frank the 'tuition' was often poor and results more due to native intelligence of the pupils than the instruction. Whenever this subject comes up I always consider a lot of rubbish is written about grammar schools through very misted perspectives.
  24. Get plenty over my house as I live near Thorney Island. They've a distinctive sound, as do the Spitfires and Harvards who come over every week, flying out of Goodwood.
  25. Ooh yes, thanks for that reminder: just checked the webcams for the north-west too.. :-)
