I'm not with him really...

It's strange, but although we've seen through the example of Lambert himself that players can improve I don't get the impression from Carroll that he can. I may well be proved wrong, but at the moment it's Lambert all the way. I don't see a lot of UK football except for the occasional short period watching a stream (and as much Saints as possible, of course), but I find Carroll embarassing to watch. I get embarassed with my own galumphing forward play at times but I'm 3rd division regional women's amateur football...

As I was saying .. haaaaaaa. Ow!

So, so many posts on this thread have me laughing out loud... Trousers piccy one as well. That looks like the top end of Commercial Rd in Pompey?
-
The club are like a shot-ridden WWII bomber returning to base. Limping in on one engine, almost out of fuel, everybody bailing out whilst they have enough altitude, the control tower give them clearance for a straight in approach, sighs of relief as they touch down... and then the undercarriage collapses and the unreleased bombs go up in a spectacular explosion. So yes, they'll get to the end of the season, but without a buyer or even season ticket money for the following year they are so, so um.. polite language fails me..

I wanted to find out how many pompey fans had yet to buy their coach tickets but the Pompey OS doesn't say. I notice they've yet another special offer for the Millwall game. Pompey online is down for "maintenance": perhaps not paying is contagious down there?

Remember you can shake fists but not fences Sat!

Well, at least you're giving the intel guys some overtime!:-) I remember going to Alan Knight's testimonial and one of the police officers with us chuckling away: "Haven't seen some of _them_ in years." -
I'm beginning to worry about getting a ticket for the first match of next season now, as I always try and be over then (Italy's too hot in August). With full houses what will the average crowd for the season be - 25/26k? One of our statto's will know off the top of their head!

Somebody stream them please!

Come on DP: haven't you got any contacts? Tell them it's an important match, a sell-out and will have a great atmosphere, plus potential off-pitch violence for added viewer appeal..

When I sold a car for a £100 when I moved to Italy it was a good little runner. I think you've forgotten to mention the costs of getting a non-runner to the scrappie: or in this case the admin costs that must be constantly borne in mind. Minor point: I do enjoy reading your posts. :-)

Well, I watched on BBC iPlayer here in Italy.. rather depressed now, plus the bottled beer wasn't great...
-
Sod me, this is depressing. We do miss Lambert: not just the penalty but Sharp can't seem to keep it or use it as well.

De Ridder for chappers

Lack of pace and lack of width. Mind you, we did start to pass the ball around calmly after the second goal. I'm not sure 'pool can maintain this pace, but we do need to get the next goal.
-
BBC iplayer with expatshield - superb. Only prob one 66cl beer already and supplies are short. Shall I open the wine... back to the stream
-
I've got a great picture on BBC iplayer - thankyou Expat shield. Beats the normal stream. Down to the cantina for my last bottle of Pedigree...
-
B****r, Trousers., I can't see Lambert in that pic.
-
Thanks TMC. So no watching the match thread and reading about the goal minutes before. I'll probbably need to close most things anyway to get a decent speed..
-
See my post just above. What sort of delay is there? Minutes, seconds?

http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b01fcmj5/Match_of_the_Day_Live_2011_2012_Blackpool_v_Southampton/ On HD.... "i-Player available soon after"...

In Dubai? Or are you over, I lose track of these international commuters. It's like polenta: I've developed a taste for it here but can't manage it in the warmer weather. Have you got any risotto rice: that's always a good standby to use with chicken and I can manage that all year. You have to chop the succulent breasts up just like we cut defences to pieces... Anyway 6.25 kick-off here and it might be on TV on Sportitalia 2, so my carbohydrates might be beer down a local bar, and nibbles of cheese and salami for protein. No football tomorrow so I can throw caution to the wind... ..and it tasted worse than it looked, jeeez.;-)

Watching Blackpool v Saints in Rome
suewhistle replied to saints_is_the_south's topic in Overseas Saints / Supporters Groups
Only just seen this, sorry! According to the listings they're showing serie B Inglese at 18.00 on SportItalia 2. Not sure what competition for the screens there will be, but if you're a group and nice and friendly and promise to buy quite a few beers... I'll be trying down the Gecko bar in my town where I last saw Saints against Man U. It was on one of the pay as you go channels and I said "I'll pay, I'll pay!!" but they didn't charge. Good luck, and hope you find somewhere. -
Indeedy, but I think I'll claim Hutch's point as well.;-)
