  1. You mean we'll start to hear rumours as things start to firm up?!:-) I reckon a CB has probably been fairly high on his list all along: the interesting thing is, who is on his short list? There's been a few surprises so far, so can anybody do a summary of names: King Billy?
  2. Could be,many Piemontesi went out there in the 19th century and I know a Piemontese guy who went to Argentina and collected loads of traditional songs there. That said Gazzaniga is a place near Bergamo (Ryanair=Milan!) in Lombardia.
  3. Do you act down the pub like you do on here? If you don't, please have the grace not do so here. You really are insufferable.
  4. Ah right, you're going to spend a bit of money on your night out!:-) Best to pre-book that taxi: I won't be driving anywhere (hic) so don't look at me.. Seems a shame booking a hotel, it's so warm a park bench would do you rather than the chambermaid coming to chuck you at 10 in the morning after 5 hours "sleep".
  5. Whoop, just seen you're staying in Lausanne: sprint for the ferry then!
  6. You're coming back in the morning then? The last ferry FROM Thonon to Lausanne is 9 in the evening.. The match kicks off at 7....
  7. You can have one of my old 'D' whistles: it's gone slightly out of tune but if you overblow it it's lovely and piercing...
  8. I believe that's known in the tabloid world as a "come-and-get-me"....
  9. More or less.. More 'Gatzaneega' I would guess.. Little /t/ sound instead of first z and the second z slightly voiced (from and with vibration from the throat).
  10. Well, my order was £3, 20p a month and £2. I'm now slightly confused. Not quite as confused as hearing CB Fry calling somebody a 'tedious *****'..
  11. Seems a bit clueless: it's your job to know, mate. Just as you should have known about the "third party" who was not involved in any contracts with Vitesse or Saints. You can't negotiate on behalf of a client without knowing all the facts. Nobody agreeing to a contract wants last minute stipulations which haven't entered into the negotiations beforehand. I'm a poor language teacher and looking around there appears sometimes to be no link between money, professionalism and intelligence.
  12. Well Lowe bought him in spite of the goalkeeping scout already knowing of his "abilities" and recommending against him.
  13. Just been looking around for a camping site as it's only a couple of days now. Anybody camping? If I do instead of a hotel I can then spend a bit more on a decent meal. It seems strange for an away match for nobody to have any local knowldege. "Which one's the away bar"? :-)
  14. Heheh - I was just about to suggest we consult C.P.'s MLG... Anyway, song for Saturday: Nathanial Clyne is all mine, all mine Nathanial Clyne is all mine,
  15. Yep, I'm worrying too much, it must be the Alpine air.;-) Another game on Saturday against lot better opposition so plenty of opportunities.
  16. Do they STAY big or is it only occasional swelling??!! Bromide might help.
  17. No Davis S.? Still problems with international clearance or minor injury?
  18. If you subsidise my Mont Blanc tunnel ticket I'll leave straight away: 1hr 52 mins on Viamichelin!;-) I'll probably go to Thonon on Saturday though, as I have an abbonnement for the other tunnel (GSB).
  19. Age, fluid retention, put on weight, jumping off the table flat-footed, you've clamped your ski boots too tight, elephantiasis... There's really no good explanation, I'm afraid..
  20. Less than two hours drive to Carouge. Too expensive, I'll wait for the Os.
  21. Finances! Aargh, this morning I've just come back from the Italian tax office: I don't earn enough to be able to afford a commercialista (tax accountant, basically) - so yes, I worry too, even if it's only me. I think many of us have some fat to spare: you only have to look at the posh cars talked about on the motoring forum here (mine's an 11 year old Fabia...), and it takes a brief look at your budget to identify things that are easily cut back on and realise that for the essentials, things aren't too bad. Some people don't have budgets and it's no surprise they get themelves in a mess, plus they have unrealistic expectations of what they can afford. Why do some of the people I know of who seem to replace 3 piece suites (other examples could be quoted..) the most often have the biggest debts? Answers on a postcard... Having kids is something else again, and must increase the worry x10!
  22. My grandad used to be an engine-driver at Eastleigh: I remember the phrase "Up with the Aki and down with the Morri" [Aquitania and Mauritania] Tom8558: no problems here with anoraks, the fact that we're all here..... What about a light railway or tram system, any legs in that when we get our stadium expansion?;-)
  23. I might wander up to France on Friday morning, it's about 2 and a half hours, pitch the tent and wander down to have a look. It's a nice part of the world so no great sacrifice on behalf of the board. I've always wanted to be ITK even if I then know he's not there..
  24. Damn sight more money than I've got and I play in goal too. He's getting loads of money for old rope.
