Oh flamin' 'eck, I've just come here after apperitivo and a meal and find I've got two more pages to read; look like a few more laughs too. Laters...
-
and what a haircut....

Just had a look and the Italian government prevents me betting (even using Expat-shield). I'm going to have to wait a week until I'm in the UK.. 9-1 for top ten looks a possibility too..

I'm old enough to remember that, and even though I've never been a gambler I thought at the time those were ridiculous odds for a two horse race. I was a very poor and cautious student though... But 18-1 on a two horse race? A sending off, or an atrocious bit of bad luck for City and it's entirely possible, let alone us playing out of our skins. Are any of the companies who offer an introductory bet for regestering offering reasonable odds??

They are indeed!

:-) :-) :-) Cavendish stage, Wiggins tour and Froome 2nd. Not bad at all.

That's the one. 35+ years is a long time!

Well, at least we can be confident that the sports science people seem to know what they're doing and know how to deal with all the individuals in the team. Not sure about your point on free kicks though, I'd say it pretty well is all technique and confidence and not the body. My passing is still pretty good, but at my age it's just that people get to the ball earlier and free kicks are just a chance for a breather...

Summer 2012 HCDAJFU Thread - Premier League Special Edition

I'm sure NC is quite happy with the idea of investment, especially when there is a minimum return guaranteed over such a short term, with the prospect of extra if we do well. He's already shown that with the investment in the infrastructure where returns are _not_ so straightforward. So as DP says, 20 out of 60 isn't much, and although it's difficult to account for wages we haven't spent that much yet as Davis and Gazzanigga were relatively cheap -and the latter almost certainly with staged payments as he's a long term prospect. Clyne didn't break the bank as he was nearly out of contract with Rodrigues being the only one to take a big bite out of the 20 [?] million. We've certainly got a couple of reasonably expensive signings left, even at the lower end of our forecast budget (and I don't mean Liverpool expensive...). -
The advantage of a history degree from Soton (even 35+ years ago) means I know who he was.. There's actually a very good specialised archive of the period at the library. Very good at demonising people was our Julius...

I find suppressed chortles and quiet snig gers much more effective and annoying.

Or perhaps they tested his wee at half-time...

According to ETG's website, here are our line-ups:

wasn't in the western Alps.:-(

Whey Hey!!!

One of the commenters on The News:

Amen to that! Even the instruments I play are cheap!
-
Wrong again!;-) It's 'interment'. A very appropriate word for Pompey at the moment.
-
That's why the crowd was so big, wanting to see Pompey's last game...
-
Think I'll swap to watch pompey's humiliation instead of GB's!
-
Just had a quick look at the stream and the commentator pointing out that only 2 of the 11 are actually signed!!
-
penalty!

Any Saints fans in Gib? "Pompey going bust with no money in the bank, no money in the bank, no money in the bank". I don't really like negative chants, but I wonder if tomorrow at Evian/Thonon....

B*****ks, it's hissing down this side of the Alps and the forecast for tomorrow is not brilliant: http://www.ilmeteo.it/meteo-europa/Thonon-les-Bains Hmmm, camping... I could afford a hotel but do I want to?.. Got August in the UK to pay for, maybe I'll stay sober after all and just do a day trip of it..
