It's got pictures too, you know. Maybe not ones with big boobs, and it's perhaps a little to the left of the Daily Fail, but what isn't?

Our Future? Stadium Expansion Proposal on Season Ticket DVD
suewhistle replied to Colinjb's topic in The Saints
There's always been an element of non-partisan football fans wanting to watch: I remember standing under the West Stand at The Dell and talking to random fans who just happened to be working in the area and wanted a fix of football. Those obviously disappeared when The Dell went all seater. The other area we need to boost is the amount of youngsters coming because once they're addicted they'll always be fans, however far away they end up - as this forum proves! [saintsWeb - catchment area The World!] I first became interested when not even living in the country as dad was working abroad and getting excited when we first got promoted to the First Division. We need to hook in to the current situation as well, although prices these days are a big disincentive. I've always wondered if the apparent [by their actions] lack of enthusiasm by the club for season tickets was to keep the interest of a larger pool of fans and not just for additional revenue. -

I don't think we're that far apart; I'm probably "1, 2 maybe 3 seasons", which is why I think this first season is so critical! -
Er, there are differences but not that extreme, besides we have better verbal skills (ahem.."there"?). When sailing luckily nobody has ever had to rely on my navigation (skipper has always checked), but I started when the only aid we had was a radio beacon DF, then Decca, then GPS. Never absolutely rely on any electronic equipment! It's the same with electronic calculators: you should still have some idea of what order of magnitude the answer should be.. I rely on maps and may print off a street map for my final destination, but often just rely on a look at a map to get rough bearings or some landmark points (right at the Church or pub or whatever). If in doubt I'll ask directions, which some men find strangely difficult..

Well, in the US they allow mixed football... This season I did goalkeeper training to act as reserve keeper and played a couple of times in goal. Bribe me with a few pints of Summer Lightning and a fiver and I'm anyones! Compared with keepers in my league I'm reasonably tall too. I'd give my fiver towards Rallyboy's membership here: well worth it for all the laughs...

Funnily enough Evian also had a TBA match for that date! I think one against them is enough though... -

This, Wade Garrett's question and Frank's Cousin's comment are reasonable points. The budgetting for SMS assumed one third at 18k, one third at around 24k and the rest near capacity. It's a bit like transport infrastructure where the seat is the ultimate perishable product: you'll never have a system with so much slack so that it's never full, but you try and increase capacity as demand increases and then tailor and fine tune that demand through other means to get the best yield (e.g. special offers, cheap day returns, etc.). At the moment I'm pondering my holiday dates, but there's no point me staying on until the 1st September if I can't get a s****n' Man Utd ticket, and it's a genuine worry that they may be difficult to get. If it's really too easy people pick and choose and roll up (or not) on the day, if it gets too difficult to get tickets people give up. Of course we wouldn't sell out 40,000 every week but that's not how it works. -

Apologies, you got a bit of a backlash for the excesses of certain other posters. It was more like "oh, please, don't _you_ start".:-) -
These look good, but in a review I saw that there is too much lag for playing an instrument, DYOR: http://www.richersounds.com/product/headphones/sennheiser/rs160/senn-rs160

Yeah, but it's a bit like a primary school playground here: "'Corse we bully him Miss, he's such a nerd"... Or "she was asking for it".... -
Just checked: 2,272 kilometers to Kiev from me. Think I'll give the drive a miss!

To complete the project certainly those timescales would seem likely, but I presume it would be phased? For example, the Kingsland expansion might be done first, to give additional capacity from the off? The fact that even these sketches are being put in the public domain seems significant enough. We just aren't a "Harbourdome" type club: when our players pose with diggers they're actually being used.... -

I've just watched the interview with Adkins on Saints player, being in footie mode after watching Italy on the box earlier. He was like the cat with the cream, couldn't keep the smile, no.. grin, off his face. Signings are surely definitely well under way: some of them will take longer than others, no doubt. That's really put me in the mood to go to the pre-season game in France... a couple of hours drive and I'll make a week-end of it. Can't wait now..

I've hired a car only twice in my [over :-(] half century of life and this story is one of the reasons why. The second time I dropped off the car at LGW only last week and made sure somebody had a look at it before I departed. I'll be checking my next credit card statement with care. As it happens I managed to block the CC on the day I left coz I got the pin wrong, but I'll still check to make sure... The guy who was returning his car before me had a problem with his windscreen. I quipped sympathetically "that's how the bu***rs make their money", and he smiled ruefully.
