  1. "they are carving Wednesday open at the moment"...
  2. sounds like a good goal..
  3. Got Radio sheff via match console here in Italy
  4. As a friend pointed out to me the other day, that was exactly the criticism of Channon when he was first on the scene! He'll certainly get better with experience and developing physique, the question is how much.
  5. I still haven't decided whether to stay on in the UK after Christmas. Not sure if it will be available here in Italy. If so I might persuade the local snooker bar to show it on the basis that I'll drink lots of birra! I've just checked the fixtures for my womens' team and no clash there as it's the holiday break. Hmmm, decisions, decisions.
  6. Sod! I was planning to go back to Italy for New Year having seen a couple of games (Forest & Reading), but now shall I extend my stay.....? Having seen us beat MU when we were in the second div and not given a chance it would be nice to see a repeat! (Cough, choke, tongue in cheek.)
  7. He's hardly going to ruin any confidence they might have by saying otherwise, is he? I've been largely impressed with what JP has said, and he certainly gives me more confidence than Burley did. Even his comments about finances/players have a little edge in that they suggest he is using them to fight his own case for particular players/spending. No, in spite of the criticisms that he doesn't know the English game (i.e. he's not some ex centre-back with loads of experience and a coaching badge) I'm pretty happy with him. I'd certainly rather have a different chairman!
  8. Yep, and I visit the UK for Christmas. Last year two (appalling) home defeats. It was a little better during my September visit, so let's hope the next visit is better (it certainly couldn't be worse IMHO).
  9. dear 1965 - I was quoting Radio London, not a Southampton station. These: " " are quotation marks.
  10. apart from those Davis' saves about which the Radio London commentators waxed lyrical, they did say Saints "looked more than a match for Charlton" - so not too bad.
  11. Was it an art collage?
  12. Yeah, I remember Southampton Saint's women's football team juniors doing a demo before a game a few years ago. A lot better than the team I played for and VERY much better than me mate's work's team!
  13. Cheapest way to get an annual report and a seat at the AGM....
  14. Well, I'm overseas too so can I second the request above - please! As to the penalty, even the still shots on the OS seem to bear it out!
  15. The best bit was on the Reading board where they commented about 'the ex-Wimbledon 36 year old midget'! I think they were being grudgingly complimentary though!:-)
  16. Just watched the Youtube clip. Love the commentary when ManU scored 'the first' - as if they were going to get more ... ha... All those names.. takes me back.. but not sure I was allowed to stay up late enough for MOTD in those days! :-)
  17. An extract from the Telegraph report: "His young side displayed the merits of their 4-3-3 formation with verve, subjecting a flummoxed Reading team to their first home defeat of the season. " Verve and flummoxed... what a great tribute.:-)
  18. Apperitivo time! Saints fans from Ampshire to the Alps to Dubai give an audible sigh of relief and head off to the pub, bar, fridge for a well deserved nerve tonic. See you later guys!:-))
  19. I was bought up Methodist so I sing ... 'For all the Saints who from their labours rest...'
  20. Well, I've burnt the onions, tramped flour through from the kitchen to the study, pleeasse Saints
  21. Even worse following 3 different web sites!!
  22. apology accepted. That is me accepting.. not my nerves :-)
  23. don't do that!!
  24. ..and I was just about to post that the written commentary on Match Console showed us having most of the possession. Iwemo - big bruiser of a CF by any chance?
