If they do they are even more sensible than I thought. Hurrah.

Good luck Drew. Not too bothered, to be honest, except that we get good wonga. For me he went missing too often and is too lightweight. Always seemed to be playing in slippers. Change might do him good and toughen him up a bit.

Seconded. Lowe sacked Pearson because - appaently - he was asking for too much money. But I suspect it was because he was not a yes man and would have stood up to the ruddy faced buffoon. I also believe that he did a really good job here, principally in identifying and luring a decent keeper and defence, which was the real key to survival (and indeed progression of any club). He is the only one to have pulled this off in many years at Saints. So we sacked him. Brilliant.

ah the old 'mystery surrounds'- type story. ie the Echo has not got a clue but wants to add a whole bunch of unsubstantiated w*nk as if it is evidence that a bloke who owns said yacht might just be stupid enough to arrive in it when rumoured to be buying Saints. Could we lock this on the grounds that it is balls, please? What a waste of everyone's time.

I'm kind of hoping that if Dowie does indeed get the job that he won't be trying to - as you suggest - find a team in his own image. Still, be nice to welcome Mr Ormerod back I suppose.

do catch up *looks upwards a fair few threads*

Interesting re: Strachan. I wish I could stick a bet on it but no-one's running a book as far as I can tell. But the really shocking part of your post was that you had drunk two bottles of Merlot. Blimey...

Probably because he wants a job?

It won't be a return for Magilton - going to QPR

Personally, I wouldn't lose a moment's sleep if all of them went. Just hope we get more than £2m for Surman and McGoldrick. And we need a new manager. Clean sweeps are best in our situation.

Hampshire constabulary?

There's a lottery draw tomorrow night. Could I have the winning numbers please? Just gently joshing...

His eighth touch, however, is immaculate.

I think it would be a jolly good idea to have a regular, weekly press conference so Pinnacle can keep us informed, along with Fry. That way they can stop all this speculation, as best they can, of course. I suggest that the first one should be - when else - on Friday, with another after that. That should do us. Then they can hold the 'new manager' one, with a bit of luck.

Are you sure you've got the right fella because last time you seemed to think I'd been slagging off Mr Jackson? Didn't see any retraction... As to the Davis question, I think he's well suited to League One, so we should keep him until we get promoted. PS if you think we'll get £2m for McG your opinions on football/economics/the real world just went down a few leagues in my mind's table of posters too. Now put some more oil on Kelvin's back and lie back in the lounger - it's a beautiful day and we might still have a club!
-
Well, you might get a player who knows how to kick a football, is not a lazy billy big boots and contributes a little to actual team play. But hey, we could hold on to him and watch his sulks/I love my torso celebrations for another year... My car available for driving him up etc

Very interested you should mention insurance companies because when the Swiss interest was mooted it struck me that it could be Zurich or even Swiss Re providing the wonga. Maybe it was and you're connected to them in some way? Seems a bit of an odd thing to say without any other incentive... Ho hum.

you will play for saints, my son. but only if you come and look at my puppies. ;-)
-
agreed. just remember the sitters he missed, not to mention the penalties. Still, will improve under Davies - the manager we should have had - at Forest.
-
I'm kind of hoping that MLT isn't tempted to get his old mate Francis Benali in on the coaching side, personally.
-
He's wanted to go for ages. When a player wants to go, all you can do is get as good a price as possible. £1m is that price IMHO. Plus he's not very good.
-
You can't talk about people's daughters on here but you can call Irish people paddies if you like. Personally I'd like to see Strachan back but...he'll probably dash our hopes and go to Pompey. But to say he is not a good manager after his record at Celtic, and us (more particularly) is nonsense. Still didn't get them up for that FA Cup final, though.

no thanks, no thanks, no thanks. Strachan's return would do me (I wish) or Keegan (double I wish). Realistically, Paul Simpson.
