There was a hell of a lot wrong with the referee tonight, so inconsistent

Not saying we deserved to win, Ipswich played well, but that looked more like corruption than incompetence from the referee. I think that game looks very different if he’s been consistent in what’s a foul and what’s not. So many of our promising breaks pulled back for non fouls, and so many of their breaks came from fouls not given. Them being awarded a corner on 93:30, not taking it til 95:00, then the ref blowing up immediately is an absolute piss take and can’t be anything other than deliberately biased. Draw probably fair on the balance of play, we lost far too many headers and second balls, but fuck me our game was disrupted by that prick in black

Said this a week ago, and the week before that, but really hope the fans can get up for this one. I worry we’ll have a bit of a hangover from the weekend and it’ll be as flat as it was for the last couple. Really have to go for it and start fast, Ipswich have been slow starters recently and pretty poor away from home, need to take advantage of that and not give them anything to hang onto.

It was a huge ask to put him straight back in for such an intense game but he was class. He was rightly keeping Manning out of the side before he got injured, and having the competition seems to have woken Manning up a bit as he was an absolute liability defensively in the first half of the season. Welington has a far higher ceiling of the 2 if he can stay fit

We’re not talking about away wins in the Ipswich and Millwall games though, we’re talking away win/draw which is far shorter odds. Somewhere between 2/1 and 3/1 in those games. Draws are good enough for us if we win our 2 games
-
I reckon it’ll be about 40/1 with a bit of guess work. Saints 6/5 tomorrow Saints will be less than evens on Saturday Millwall and Ipswich will be similar odds to fail to win on Saturday, will be somewhere around 2/1, maybe slightly longer

Middle of the Northam as usual, mush. Numbers wise for a midweek it was ok, it was just really flat again. Blackburn was the same. Is it hurting anyone pointing that out? Our fans were far from great for such a big game. Considering it was a huge chance to push on for 2nd, I was surprised how quiet it was. Opposition fans singing football in a library for no reason I suppose? I’ll be at Wembley mush, getting right behind them like I was last night, and on Saturday, and the game before. I just hope a few more don’t want to stand in silence

It was pretty brief and not very loud. Home atmosphere has been really poor in recent times in the league and was especially disappointing tonight bearing in mind what was riding on it. Other than a bit of noise around the equalisers, it was shit.

As I feared. Absolute garbage from our fans tonight, expecting to turn up and stroll it. I’m sure the awful start didn’t help but such a shame that the fans can’t push the players on when they’ve given everything to put us in with a shout of top 2

I think a huge part of our success this 2nd half of the season is we’re able to rotate so much without an obvious drop off, so we’re not running on empty. Lots of key players are only playing 90 mins per week despite us playing Saturday - Tuesday - Saturday. It’s only really been Bree and Manning who haven’t had much of a rest, and I guess Azaz until recently. As we’ve seen from lots of other sides recently, substitutions weaken them where a lot of ours are positive changes and we can finish games strong even if we haven’t been at our best.
-
Really hope the players and crowd can get right up for this one with the distraction of Saturday looming. SMS has been pretty flat recently, it was dire against Blackburn last midweek despite us flying up the table. We know we’re capable of a big atmosphere but would love to see it more regularly

He’s fast becoming my favourite player. He doesn’t moan when he’s not starting, but comes on and scores the most important goals you can think of. Absolute gem of a player

Weird game today. I felt that the away end didn’t truly believe that we’d turn it around, that Tonda was playing to be unbeaten rather than to keep winning, but what do we know. We were up against it but 2nd half everyone got behind them. Swansea are a decent side and have only lost to the Champions at home since November, but we pegged them back 2nd half and they buckled under the pressure. Class from Saints infront of the away end and sustained pressure got the job done. Makes the long journey back from south wales worth it
-
I think that’s just being Saints. It can only be good for too long before you think it’ll come crumbling down. I’m quietly optimistic, we look too good for everyone recently even when in 2nd gear, Swansea are fairly average but with 1 big threat to deal with. New ground for me today so hoping for the best, no reason not to be confident other than thinking we’re going to lose just because we’re unlikely to win 7 in a row
-
Surely it’s possible, we had a huge allocation for the paint pot where Carlisle didn’t bring many so the segregations were further round
-
I’d say Welington would be a fairly obvious one to get him some minutes ahead of the City game. Him and Scienza down the left for that one will be key
-
I get that the FA have to get their money back for the new Wembley, but having semi finals there really makes going there less special. It should be reserved for finals only IMO, even if it significantly reduces our chances of playing there. Can understand City not selling it out every time when they’re almost nailed on for a final there every season.
-
City still have 6-7000 tickets to sell apparently from their initial allocation, assuming that’s slowed right down as well now after the initial windows to buy them. Would be great to get an extra allocation if they can’t shift them. Imagine being so uninspired by an FA cup semi, whether it’s against little old Southampton or not. Shame the semis are at Wembley rather than a decent neutral ground

Any Ipswich fans reading - your board is shit and full of hundreds of new threads on the same topic with no replies, with the occasional one almost worth reading. Also I hope you stay in the Championship after that Nigel Farage bollocks and that pathetic penalty given your way at Carrow Road -
4-0 Saints. They were conceding goals for fun before beating Leicester 1-0, and they’re useless. Coventry and Ipswich both put 3 past them in recent times. Start fast and blow them away, loads of fun for the travelling fans.
-
Apparently their right back situation is a problem area for them. Give Leo a start and surely would make sense to give Welington lots of minutes as he’ll be playing at Wembley. Manning can come back in on Tuesday so everyone is fresh. You’d assume Downes, Jander, Stewart will be back in too. They won at Leicester last time out which was their first in 5. Decent enough draws with Boro and Sheff Utd before that, and comfortable defeats to Coventry and Wrexham before that.
-
Was saying this last night, he was gassed after about 15 mins in his first few appearances and couldn’t even think about pressing. He was everywhere last night, looks so much fitter and faster. Really happy for him with the WC approaching

Been saying for ages that 84 points will be enough and I firmly believe that’s still the case. I’m not saying I think we’ll get the 84 but if we did, we’ll be up in 2nd. Millwall have an easy run in but only 1 win in 5, all we’d need is for them to draw one. Ipswich’s away form is shite and they’ve got Boro next then 3 aways on the spin, then QPR who like they can play all of a sudden. Tough run in considering their away form. Swansea away will be tough for us and Bristol City have improved under Woy. Would be class if we went into the Ipswich game still in the mix. -
Brilliant first goal that, defence splitting pass from Matsuki, great run and cross from Archer and Larin got up to full speed just in time for an easy tap in, left his man for dead. Shame Matsuki fluffed that chance as it would’ve killed the game earlier, things are going well if that’s the biggest grumble. On to the next
