You think any business that wasn't a football club would get away with trading while insolvent on that scale and for that long? Would they ****. Goodbye Portsmouth FC, once they've built a load of flats on that land, there won't be any space on that island to build a new stadium.

Can't believe I forgot about this, my worst away game ever: Crewe Alexandra 1-1 Southampton. 2006? 2007? Can't remember much about the game apart from it was dire, and Peter Madsen played. I remember that we bought tickets intending to get the train, but it would've cost a fortune, so I booked the national express from Southampton to Stoke-on-Trent. Problem was, I was out on the p*ss Friday night and it was leaving Southampton at 5am, so I went straight there from a night out. Spent the 8 hour journey via London on the verge of throwing up, then negotiate a train from Stoke to Crewe, had time for 2 pints and a sh*t game of football, before the return journey to Southampton, getting us back at 2am. Never again.

Just read the thread - some have reminded me of other honourable mentions: Bristol Rovers 1-0 in the cup. Fecking Jermaine Wright own goal (was just a deflected Lambert shot IIRC, but JW was sh*t) Swindon away 1-0. Biggest cheer was when we finally made a sub after 80 mins, and we'd been 1-0 down for at least 70 of them.

Sheffield United. Can't remember the year...07 maybe? We were sh*t, got stuffed 3-0, and it took us about 7 hours to get home. Col Utd, packed in that sh*tty old terrace like sardines. I remember some fans right behind Kelvin's goal giving him abuse, he turned round and gave some back and there was a right slanging match. Depressing to watch. Think we lost 2-0? I didn't leave but 2 of our lot went back to the pub at half time

+1. Always hated Sarah Cox, and 'Grimmy' is just a male version of her. Northern and unfunny. But, as I'm 25, I'm no longer part of the target audience. That's another thought - I'm 'too old' for Radio 1, I feel I'm too young for Radio 2 (never liked Wogan, and I can't stand Chris Evans), and I hate adverts on radio shows. I think there's a gap in the market.

Where abouts? We were set to head up to North Wales for a windfarm project, but it all went quiet. There's talk of it being back on in Jan 2013. Pain in the arse being on the road all the time but sometimes it's necessary for continued employment.

I'm an electrician and working at Fawley refinery. I don't mind it, but don't 'love my job' (does anyone?). Currently trying to think of a decent way of doubling my salary without having to work 60+ hours a week. Pay is decent enough but I'd like to be well off rather than just 'comfortable'. I think I probably need to specialise in something then go out on my own. Would quite like to move abroad at some point to live/work/travel as well so that might be a good way to do it.

Nah, I'm 25 so not sure if I'd qualify, and I was never a student so didn't ever really have much reason to use a lot of public transport.

Cheers. Looked through all that, the tickets are cheap on the saturday but the singles back to Euston are expensive and it costs about £30 return to go from Southampton to Euston. Robbing b*stards. £332 to get four of us to Manchester and back. Looks like we could be drawing straws for who's driving home on the sunday, or stay till Monday.

Anyone know where to look for cheap deals on the trains? We're going up saturday morning and back on the 7.36pm Sunday evening, but the cheapest train ticket I can find is £83. There are 4 of us going so it'll be much cheaper if one of us drives, but with the game being moved to the sunday, it would be a sober away day for one of us, which is a bag of sh*t.

Sky Sports infobar is saying that Vitesse have confirmed we've bid £3m. Doesn't go into any other detail.

Some people can get away with eating what they want. Most can't. If someone enjoys crisps and isn't fat, fair enough. Crisps never bothered me much, rather eat fruit. I eat properly and go to the gym regularly, and it's still not easy to keep weight off. I guess that's the main reason. As for the 100 calories a bag arguement, as has been mentioned, what a load of sh*t. They're still all salt and saturates, with no nutritional value. Same as McDonalds. Why someone would go out of their way to eat that sh*t is beyond me. It doesn't even taste good.

Would you want to get into a swimming pool that you know someone's just p*ssed in? Same applies here IMO.

We've booked Ibiza for the closing parties in September. Flights are £150 from Bournemouth and the hotel we stay at will be about £90 each. Basic but it has air con and does the job. Problem with Ibiza is the price of getting into the clubs. We go there for the music, and you'll usually pay €30-50 to get in anywhere that's worth going to on any particular night. It's expensive, but comfortably worth it. Much rather shell out the extra few hunderd quid and go to Ibiza than go somewhere sh*t like Kavos, Malia, Faliraki or Magaluf where you're surrounded by wasted 18 year olds, the smell of sewage, and chart-dance pop music clubs. We've found that festivals abroad are really good value for money when getting away for a good time. A week at Exit festival in Serbia cost me £500 door to door, including flights via Munich, and we went to Pag in Croatia which is cheap as chips and a real up and coming lads holiday destination.

Ouch. The last time I went was 2010, and I spent about £1200 on the week. And that was with flights and accom for only £250 and trying to do most of the drinking on the cheap where possible. Good luck with that!

Ibiza is less likely to be affordable to school leavers/teenagers. Which means there are far fewer cases of people passed out in the street caked in their own vomit and pigeon kebabs. Also, Ibiza smells less like a toilet.

Sounds obvious, but careful with possessions on the overnight/long journeys when you sleep. When we went to Serbia, some friends of ours got the train down from Budapest and had a couple of bags pinched. Been to Prague - avoid the tourist areas when going on the p*ss. The price difference is huge. You'll pay about £7 for a beer in the main squares, and as little as £1.80-£2 in the less obvious places. We had a top weekend in Prague for a stag do, it's only a small place so you can see all the sights in a day, and Hot Peppers is the best strip club I've been to. Croatia is Beautiful, never been to Zagreb, but if you get the chance to travel around the country for a bit, head to the coast. The island of Pag is great for partying, and Split is a city worth visiting.
