See Pugwash's post on previous page for that sort of letter template!

Good effort Pugwash. I reckon it's worth mailing a few thousand copies of that to the Football League, and a copy via email to every other football club in the league for them to use also. It's every club's interest that Portsmouth get punished appropriately.
-
It's unlikely, but would be fun! Could try to get the local rag down there, filming the tears. I could probably get access to the substation Fratton Park is fed from and turn it off at any time, it's just not worth losing my job and getting sued!
-
If true then that's weak by the FL. Really doesn't affect them much. It'd be farcical if they went into admin, got an investor, and avoided relegation. The 3 sides that would be below Pompey hardly pick up points, and unfortunately, Pompey do.

Brilliant. I work for Southern Electric, based in Portsmouth. Out of the 60+ electricians I work with, there are 2 of us saints fans. Myself and the lad I stand with at SMS. The rest are mostly skates. I'll take great pleasure out of this happening if it does

This is exactly why I, and lots of other team's fans, have no symathy for them. They haven't learnt their lesson from last time. Instead of trying to resolve their problems by moving on the high earners, and building side that doesn't cost a huge percentage of their turnover to run, they've gone and bought more sh*t players on massive wages, and gone with the approach of 'someone will buy us before we go bust, all will be fine. Let's sign another 32 year old on £38k p/w'. They deserve a proper punishment. One that will guarantee relegation at the very least.

Hoofballers 1-3 Footballers IMO. Lambert (2), Sharp.
-
It was made clear that Doncaster accepted a bid for Sharp but he didn't agree terms with them. He said in his first interview after he signed that he was holding out for us to go in for him and that Leicester wasn't right for him. I very much doubt we would've paid any more than the £1.85m release clause fee.

I know this, just going with Nigel's positivity slant on things after the 'if we lose the next two' thread. The chasing pack has been catching up very quickly, and now is a good chance to put some pressure on them by getting points on the board while they're not playing.
-
....things will be looking very nice indeed. I think we've got a good chance, our last 3 results and performances in the league have been positive. Unbeaten against Cardiff, Birmingham and Burnley, and we were unlucky not to take 7 points instead of the 5 we got out of them. Everyone is fit or very close, and looking confident. I think it's possible. Matches this week: WHU - Saints (h), NO MATCH. Saints - West Ham (a), Derby (h). Brum - Hull (h), FA CUP. Cardiff - Peterborough (h), Ipswich (a). Blackpool - Doncaster (a), FA CUP. Hull - Birmingham (a), NO MATCH. Reading - Derby (a), Burnley (h). A fair few of our promotion rivals will have a backlog of fixtures. We will have played 2 more than WHU, Birmingham and Hull by this time next week. Good opportunity to put some pressure back on them.
-
We have 3 tough games in 8 days coming up. I believe we will know whether we are automatic promotion contenders or not after these. I'm optimistic. Our squad is stronger than at the beginning of the season. Recently we've had a lot of disruption due to injury and suspension, and had some bad luck too. Now nearly everyone is back fit, and those who are returning will quickly get back to match fitness, and we'll start playing well and getting the results we need. I think we'll pick up 7 points from Burnely, West Ham and Derby. That would definitely get our season back on track.

Saints V Millwall FA Cup Replay Match Thread!
Jack replied to SOTONS EAST SIDE's topic in The Saints
Birmingham is much less than 200 miles away, they're not playing bad at all, and they may not get many more chances to see their team play. 488 is sh*t. Especially as they claim to be the best fans in Hampshire/the South/England/the world -
Saints V Millwall FA Cup Replay Match Thread!

Unrelated, but, good report just came in from St Andrews. Pompey giving Brum a good game, had the better chances. And pompey have only taken 488 fans up there. Best fans in the land. Lolz -
It happens to the best of teams Alps. Look at what Blackburn did at Old Trafford a few weeks ago. Look at Man City at Everton. Barcelona have been dropping points and failing to score recently. No matter how good a side is, they will have some unlikely defeats over a season. We're nearly back to full strength, and we've strengthened. With players returning and others finding some lost form, there's no reason we can't replicate our form from the first few months of the season.
-
Also, Bristol City had just got a new manager in and they were in the middle of a mini revival. We had an off day at home against them. Away at Leicester, we were unlucky. Their 3rd goal should never have counted for foul on Lambert, and we found their keeper in unbelievable form. We absolutely battered them in the 2nd half
-
Watch us get on a good run now and pick up at least 7 points from the next 3 games. On paper, 2 points from 2 games isn't that great, but I think there's plenty to take out of the performances. We were unlucky not to beat Cardiff and were all over them, and to pick up a point away from home against the league's form side, in awful conditions, is not a bad result. We didn't get enough shots off, but controlled big parts of the game. I think we're about to get on a tidy run of wins, can see no reason for us not to beat Burnley and Derby, and go to Upton Park full of confidence and give West Ham a lesson in how to play football.

If Millwall play anywhere near as bad as they did yesterday, this should be fairly straight forward. Bart Butterfield Martin Hooiveld (if fit) Fonte if not Harding Falque Hammond JWP Lallana Barnard Lee Davis, Shaw, Stephens, Cork, Reeves, Guly, Lambert

Just 1000 posts in over 6 years will tell you that my life is not wasted trying to feel important on a football forum. The reason for my reply was that there was another thread started a few minutes before this, making exactly the same point. You just sit quietly and carry on trying to feel appreciated, or even acknowledged.

Skates game vs Hull is off due to a frozen pitch. Only one in the championship so far. Mickey mouse outfit

Surely, as Lambert had just got past his man, and his next action would have been a shot at goal, he was denied an obvious goalscoring opportunity?
-
From the back of the Northam, we had a great view of the Lambert shout. We were absolutely fuming it wasn't given at the time. He had skinned his man and was pulled back. From watching the replays it looked like he went down easily, but the defender DID slow him right down, denying him a shot (goalscoring opportunity). Rules would say a pen and a red card, I just think the ref was weak and the lino gave no help. Was obviously a long way away from the other 2 shouts but knew they good shouts from the crowd reaction
