    Texas Hold'Em

I used to play quite a lot, haven't had as much time for it recently. Last time out I was playing a 50p/£1 cash table at Grosvenor after a night out. I sat down at about 1am with £50, walked out at 8am with £410. Played a £300 pot that night, flopped a set of 10s against AA and got all the money in on the turn. Was sh*tting myself despite the bloke needing to catch one of the 2 aces to beat me.
  2. Can't wait for this. 16 of us getting an early train up for an all day beer session. Think we'll win at a canter.
  3. Shocked how few posts are by people in and around Southampton! Wasn't going to post as my history isn't at all remarkable, but thought it might focus the thread. 24, Electrician, moved to Warsash from Bristol in 1995 and now living in Whiteley, although I've spent the last 2 years worki g in Hull and Warwick during the week. Parents are WHU 'fans' so had no help there, I got hooked on Saints because of schoolfriends. First game was 3-0 win over Sunderland, only remember that as it was the game before we beat United 6-3 in 1996. First away was Leicester in the first season after relegation, been a season ticket holder every season since, bar last year due to being stuck working at the other end of the country. It's currently taking over my life and loads of my money as we've got a really good group of lads who are there most weeks home and away, it just makes it expensive as we're on the p*ss all of the time
  4. Limped off with a groin strain on Saturday. (the game that was shown live on TV, against Leeds) Someone said they talked to him and he said he could be out for a few weeks
  5. Not good enough IMO FFS.
  6. I wasn't alone in thinking Guly and Harding had poor games then?
  7. The opening of Block 43 made it ridiculously slow getting out last night. It is annoying that they open the block, but nothing else to compensate for the extra numbers. Huge queues at the turnstiles lead to missing KO again, wasn't so bad in the concourse due to it being midweek, but then it took forever to get out after the game. Irritating.
  8. Yep, I'm glad that's the end of midweek games for this season. Looking forward to another 3pm Saturday game this weekend. Pub at 9am for an all day effort.
  9. To be fair we only do really sing when we we're winning. We were useless until we scored. At best, during one of the songs that did get going first half, 20% of people around me were singing. That said, I don't really see the point of this thread though. With 3 mins of normal time to go, there's not really much time to get songs started when it's end to end.
  10. -------------Super Kelv---------------- -Frazer----Fonte----Hooiveld----Fox- Chaplow---Cork-----Morgan----Lallana ------------Lee------Lambert----------- Subs: Martin, Hammond, Guly, SDR, Sharp Saints 4-0 Barnsley It all comes together and the wrist-slashers go back into hiding until we drop points again.
  11. I really don't know what game some people were watching last night. Lambert rubbish? - how about the 10+ flick ons he won to let us run in behind/gain possession. And a couple of very good through balls. Oh, and a good finish for our only goal. Lee not delivering? - he was everywhere. Made top quality runs, pulled their defence all over the place, and holds the ball up very well. Didn't get any real chances, but he was involved in a lot of our best play Lallana off his game? - He should have done better with a couple of shots, but was still by far the best player on the pitch. Yes it's disappointing to concede late, but if we hadn't, and won 1-0, none of this rubbish would be posted on here and everyone would be saying how well we played. That was one of our best attacking performances for a while. If we create that many good chances every week, we'll win most games and have no problem getting promoted. So many WUMs and drama queens on here.
  12. Is it just me or do they seem to play someone sh*t every week? I know they beat Boro away recently but they seem to be beating all the teams that they'd be expected to beat, and usually only by the odd goal. I think we'll keep plugging away and pick up enough points to stay above them. The game against them at SMS is starting to look huge though.
  13. Was Dave Merrington negative about us on the radio? It seems that all of our non attendees are saying it was dreadful. I disagree. I thought we played some of the best football this year, in the first half. We carved them open time and time again. Adam should have scored, and Guly missed an absolute sitter. (and that's not me being racist FFS, he was sh*t today). They scored from a deflected shot, we went to sleep just a bit, which is a massive shame as we were looking like picking up the 3 points with a decent enough performance against a good side. Another day we would have had it wrapped up much earlier. An Ipswich supporting mate of mine (who was there), phoned me as we were walking back to the pub and the feeling amongst their lot is that they got away with it and are very happy with the point. Lallana, Lee and Lambert quality, SDR looked very good coming on. Guly poor, Harding woeful. I hope neither are in the XI on Saturday.
  14. Lee was quality tonight. I know Sharp hasn't had much time, but his touch has been poor when he's played. Lee will be a very good player for us

    Millwall Away

Good news. We were drinking around Leicester Square last time, will probably do that again. Plenty of pubs near the tube and no hassle from any police.

    Millwall Away

Of course they do. It's just that millwall being 'scary' is very wide of the mark and a soft excuse. Over the last few years, there has been a LOT more trouble with Palace than there has been with Millwall, and I bet we sell out 4k at Palace. Millwall is just another London away game now, a great day out. In my opinion, people need to be less soft if they think Millwall is scary.
  18. Just making his excuses for (possibly) getting battered before the game starts.

    Millwall Away

    Millwall Away

I'd hoped that it would sell out quickly to ST holders so we could request the lower tier as well

    Play Up Pompey

Is it an automatic infraction for starting a thread with that title? Good luck Pompey would have suffice, surely.
  22. No excuses for Millwall or Palace. Or any of the home games. Or Boro away - potentially huge.
  23. That's going to be a big weekend. Skates on the saturday then Palace away Monday. Tuesday off work I reckon
  24. Gash defending. That's handed WHU 3 points then.
