  1. Brisbane Roar lost 0-3 to Central Coast Mariners today. One team took their chances, the other were sh*te. The losing team had 70% possession. Its the ratio of shots and shots on target that matter most. Sounds like we're playing a clever tactical game. COYR hold on
  2. Interesting Stato heard on the Sunderland v Liverpool international broadcast. The last time Liverpool lost 3 in a row was against Southampton in January 2005. Nice to get a mention...!!!
  3. I wish I were in Oldham.................. as long as I could go home again straight after the game
  4. Well this week I watched Calgary Flames screw a 5 goal lead, so i'm not getting ahead of myself. Reassured, but still very nervous. Come on boys show your steel!!!
  5. late celebration... LAMBERRRRRRRRRRTTT!!!! w000000000000t
  6. Well the score ain't 66-34. Its the goals that matter, and although it may seem concerning, maybe we are closing down well, pressuring them backwards - counter attacking well? all sorts to consider
  7. We are currently off the bottom. Hopefully it will stay that way for the rest of my life. COME ON SAINTS - learn to hold on
  8. according to some posters Jaidi and Trotman are too!?!
  9. Watching it on the telly over here, it was actually a cracking goal. Poked its end out to flick it past Reina!!!
  10. My Connolly theory is that Pardew brought him in to give us a 'Plan B'. Currently, our Plan A involves a Chelsea-esque front line where we have 3 in the middle, 2 wingers and Lambert up front. But soon, teams may be able to defend this better and nullify this tactic. When this happens, Pardew knows he has a Plan B. He then brings Connolly of the bench in place of Waigo, changing the formation from a 4-3-3 to a 4-4-2. Lallana drops back to the midfield. We then play Plan B - finding another possible route to goal with different tactics.
  11. Got my maths brain on this morning and have been studying the league table... multiplied the points totals by teams currently in midtable and around 6th spot by 1.5 and 2, to come up with a projected total of points needed to be in midtable and in the play offs by 18 games played and also by 24 games played. By 18 games, to be in midtable, we will have to be on 21 points approximately Therefore, we need 16 points from 18, in our next 6 games: (Oldham (a), MK Dons (h), Orient (a), Brighton (h), Norwich (h), Hartlepool (a).) If we can go on this strong run of form, 5 wins and a draw from these games, we will then be in a very good position to push for the play offs IMO. Optimistic, but we are in League One, and we have a killer squad now, so we shouldn't be underestimating at all. By 24 games, to be in the play offs, we will have to be on 39 points approximately 34 points in 12 games obviously isn't going to happen (11 wins, 1 draw) - but for me it also shows how close it actually is. CAN WE DO IT?
  12. At least its at home. If you want to win a cup, you have to beat the best - that's what both teams will be thinking I feel!!!
  13. Seems easier to be a Leeds than all of us poor buggars in the south!!!
  14. In his head he may be still trying to even up that first goal for the home crowd - shame!!!
  15. Awesome so far - these are the games we need to win to prove we are good!!! COYR
  16. Torquay fans seem to underestimate our support. On their forum they are saying between 4,500 and 5,500. At a guess, looking at our League Cup attendances, I would expect them to be just under those, so I will go with 9,000. Team? Keep Kelvin in goal. I'd expect to see Jaidi and Waigo rested as they are not fully fit, and 3 games in 6 days will damage them. Perry to start, hopefully Holmes too if fit. This is a competition i'd love to win. We need trophies, and this is the easiest way we will get them. Two JPTs in a row before promotion? Would be good. Davis James, Trotman, Perry, Harding Holmes, Gillett, Hammond, Mellis Lallana Lambert
  17. Mark Cavendish. He will probably win the overseas award in France, yet has no chance in his own country.
  18. Not many to be jealous of then
  19. I think they only did so when certain London teams were playing at home on that Saturday, so when there was a clash, they requested a change to the Friday. However, not all requests are agreed by the police and the league, so it's never been a 'usual' thing. Anyway, we better win. That's all I care about
  20. well done Saints.... now push on FFS!!!!!
  21. Awesome free kick by Halford... Great save by David James Out to Ebanks Blake, misses a sitter. Still Skates 1 up
  22. Not quite that bad: Cardiff Preston Ipswich Crystal Palace Yeovil So would be the 6th.... I think I might have forgotten one more, so it may be the 7th... still cr*p!!!
