Yyyyyeeeeaaaahhhhhh Edit: that looks lame without capitals!!!

James moves into midfield... surely that's the plan.

It hasn't been good enough on a whole. Mid-table League 1 team is not what we want to become. However, I do believe now that as long as we end the season on a high, we can look to get promotion next season. Being in League 1 come the 11/12 season is unacceptable.

Not good, need a positive response or we will easily lose this game. Hopefully it was a hard penalty save, otherwise KD could be to blame for not parrying it away???

Hang on ref, let me go to the loo first

Only 1 foul against Norwich? Impressive that. However, I would suggest they need to be more physical if they want to get something out of the game.

Did anyone mention it was Half Time?

Hully sh*t!!! No really, at the end of the season, they will prove to be sh*t

that man is a maestro!!! 2 goal comeback... unbelievable stuff...
-
Typical that THAT one had to be on the darn TV... COYR the nerves are gonna be real bad if we stay at 1-0!!!
-
We will need another one to win....... maybe even three..... important start however.... conceding first was beginning to be a habit!!! COYR

Three league games in a row we go a goal(s) down. Worrying. Leyton Orient we got lucky, today we were punished for not having much variation in our attacking build up. Brighton are sh*t but still found it simple. Norwich now becomes a must win game, otherwise we will be deep in relegation doo doo again, the players will become unconfident, the Pardew bashers will be out in force and the losing mentality will return (considering what the club has been through, this actually matters a lot for some of our players). My Ratings: Davis 7, Harding 5, Trotman 4, Jaidi 5, James 6, Antonio 9, Lallana 7, Schniederlin 5, Hammond 6, Lambert 5, Connolly 7. Brighton played better than they usually will because of the new manager syndrome. But still, if we cannot beat Brighton at home, we are in big trouble. LEEDS WILL NOT DO THIS. NORWICH WILL NOT DO THIS. CHARLTON, MILLWALL, HUDDERSFIELD DO NOT DO THIS.

To have considerably less points than Norwich and Charlton (not including deduction) at this stage of the season is a nightmare. Some say we have a stronger side than these... we might do, but we are Southampton and are still inconsistant, unfortunately consistancy is what you need to get out of this league and if we lose to teams like Brighton at home we will NEVER EVER get out of this league. REASONS WHY WE LOST: 1) Defence was gobsh*te. Gave their wingers far too much room. Gave them space, and helped them create clear cut chances. The only clear cut chances we got were from defensive scrambles. I'd bring Thomas in for Trotman next game y'know. 2) Reliance on Antonio. Come on, after 10 minutes it was obvious and Brighton started backing up their defender, so if he got beat (always) there would be another two coming in to clear it up. We didn't have another plan it seemed. 3) Passing it around too much at 1-2. Fact of life - you make mistakes. Playing long balls from wing to wing is more mistake prone, so we are more likely going to lose the ball. If we put it in early.... then at least we have tried to create something. 4) Lambert needs to get out of the wide positions. Sometimes he drifted out there (not often)... this must never happen again... he is the target man... KEEP HIM IN THE BOX!!! 5) New manager syndrome. Hartlepool fans are getting anxious (oh look... we have them soon) and Tranmere don't have a new man in yet do they? (oh look... we have them soon) Overall NOT GOOD ENOUGH but think we can turn it around enough to stay up comfortably. This result kills off any belief that we can make the play offs unfortunately.

Northern Draw: Carlisle v Bradford Leeds v Accrington Looking rosy for Leeds...

I honestly hate it when its a first game for a manager, because they always win!!! Head: Saints 1-2 Brighton Heart: Saints 4-1 Brighton Please don't let this ridiculos hoodoo continue...

Lallana in fact almost made his Saints debut before KD himself, against Preston in 2006. In terms of GKs though, Bialkowski has been here for longer. Shame there is no playing link in the entire club to our Premier League days...

I'm actually a referee and its easy to keep up with play as an assistant... you are instructed to keep on the 2nd last defender and anyone with a brain finds this easy. I know I do a good job, but it doesn't stop fans hurling abuse like they just don't care. It is the fans who start to make excuses. They believe this decision was wrong.... therefore they PRESUME the assistant was out of position. Which in the most part is b*ll*cks. The only difficult bit as an assistant is judging the so called "crossover effect". This is when the defender runs up and the attacker runs towards goal. To judge where each player is when the ball is kicked is really difficult, and often you have to consider the sound delay from when you hear the ball being kicked to where the players are on the ball. It sounds like a good assistant may and should have kept Waigo onside from what I read on the first post. Another thing that winds me up is when fans don't understand the offside rule, and presume they are right and we the refs are wrong. Sorry, but the refs do know what they are doing. Its our job, we fight for promotion or relegation in terms of the quality we officiate. For example, the post by Hutch on Page 1 is the posting of a typically vile football fan who believes that all refs are rubbish, and that they should be punished. Codswallop. I'd like to see you try better. At the end of the day, you have the BEST doing it, so STOP WHINGING!!!

Got the coverage in Australia as well. Setanta showed it, so I guess it was on in Ireland too.

Thrilled with the way we have won this game. MK Dons were a great test for us. They have a fantastic goals against record and are in good form. Sounds like we were by far the better team today. Kept our composure and ended up with a well earned 3 points. The confidence will now soar especially after coming from behind. We will believe we can win wherever we go. Another win against a poor Leyton Orient side next week could have us out the bottom 3. Come on boys, believe!!!

do you love me that much???
