  1. Big clubs usually go for players that have one (or if they're lucky, more) outstanding qualities, and unfortunately Redmond doesn't have any. He's a bit above average in most characteristics, but doesn't index enough beyond that for the biggies to take notice.
  2. The fact that Tory and Republican governments in the UK and US are taking this seriously should be all you need to know. Under ordinary circumstances, those ****s wouldn't wipe their butts to avoid a few thousands unnecessary deaths. Spanish flu killed millions, so the idea that this could kill hundreds of thousands, if not more, is entirely within reason.
  3. There are three types of fan on this site: 1. Those that know Gao has no money to spend and are annoyed by it. 2. Those who know Gao has no money, but take solace in pointing this out to others as if it should be reason enough not to be annoyed. 3. Those who know Gao has no money, but don't care as long as our crest continues to look a little bit like a man with a football for a head.
  4. I don't think they worry about him particularly. I don't see defences playing especially deep to counter his pace, which leads me to believe that in the decade or so he's been in the league getting caught offside more often than not, most managers know that you can just play your usual line and he'll do the rest for you by going early.
  5. On today's showing, Long creates opportunities for his strike partner by virtue of being so frequently off-side or shinning the ball into touch so often that the opposition defense are lulled into a false sense of security, assuming that somehow he'll cause every one of our attacks to break down. Really can't face another two years of watching him sh*tting all over our attack.
  6. Because we are a small, slow, weak side. We literally don't have the physical capability to complete. We look like a bunch of yellow-socled midgets next to them.
  7. Most annoying thing about West Ham is how many of our fans feel morally superior to them, even though they seem to murder us every time we play them.
  8. You'd leave Long on? He's been absolute dog sh*t, as usual.
  9. Yup, was a terrible giveaway playing a stupid square ball off the touchline under pressure. I never feel very confident in our close quarters one touch stuff - no real conviction in it, and always seems a bit lucky when it comes off.
  10. Didn't Antonio play down the middle against us last time, or was that just where he ended up on the counter? Either way, on the basis that he absolutely bullied our CBs in the previous game, surely they'll just tell him to do the same again.

    Che Adams

He didn't look particularly fast to begin with.
  12. Insanely fast. Watched them play Leipzig the other week, and he absolutely burned Upamecano from a standing start.
  13. The fact that other countries are worse doesn't exonerate us. Nor does it sound like your simple binary actually reflects the choice that gay players feel lies ahead of them. Otherwise we'd probably have had more than one player come out in the almost 20 years the PL has been operating.
  14. I've not said that racism is worse now than before. I've just pointed out to people saying that it has vanished from the terraces that, on the contrary, there's an increasing amount of it about these days, and a lot more is just submerged now because of more aggressive policing. This country is still racist to the core, and you only have to look at the politics of the last couple of years to see that.
  15. If the data says that racist incidents are increasing, and your response is that this isn't a problem, chances are YOU are the problem.
  16. Oh, that's great news. Well done us. We should write a forum letter to Kick it Out letting them know that the problem has been solved, and that players like Raheem Sterling and Danny Rose have been worrying about nothing.
  17. Racism is a zero-tolerance issue in football these days, hence a lot of racist fans have learned to shut up. And yet the number of racist incidents is still increasing year on year.
  18. Just a few days ago a BBC pundit was sacked for indulging in a bit of casual racist stereotyping about the character of black players. Then a week or two before that official figures were released showing that racist incidents at matches have increased by 50% year on year, and more than doubled since 2016. https://www.theguardian.com/football/2020/jan/30/football-related-racist-incidents-sharp-rise-police-kick-it-out But I'm sure with your Pepe the frog avatar you're here to debate the problem of racism in good faith, right?
  19. Right, excuse me while I pop off and conduct a couple of years of field work in order to prove to you that a sport that has historically been a lightning rod for overt racism (and still is elsewhere in Europe) has, on average, more racist attendees than Crufts.
  20. Sure, sure, what about those dog trainers, eh? The crowd at Crufts has been notorious for the amount of racist cant spat from the stands over the years.
  21. Thank god we've completely solved the problem of racism in football in this, the year of our lord 2020.
  22. When he tries to win the ball in the air, instead of jumping, Vest sort of tries to lean over his opponent. If they're shorter than him, he sometimes wins, but if they jump he almost always loses out or only manages to scoop the ball up rather than out. That we paid the best part of £20m for him is nothing short of astounding.
  23. He's spot on about all three. Ralph just doesn't have any other options as we are completely and utterly skint (apparently).
  24. Vest absolute cack, but at least most are agreed on that. Long was neither a nuisance to anybody, nor a good foil for Ings. He had zero impact on the game, and that's what you usually get from him. Handing him a new contract would be a terrible sign of our level of ambition. As for the rest, unless Armstrong plays above himself, we've got no one in midfield who can pick as pass in the attacking third.
