When we pass the ball around at the back and between defensive midfield and the keeper, it's like we're doing it because we've been told that that's what good teams do without actually having a clue what it is they're trying to achieve by doing it. Neither Bednarek nor McCarthy are comfortable with the ball at their feet, and you can't play out from the back properly if 2/5 of your players can't participate.

Even low to middling PL players earn about 1.5m a year. They're as well remunerated as the MDs and CEOs of medium-sized businesses. They'll be fine.
