So they'd be pilloried for not going along with BLM, but widely supported for not standing for the national anthem?
-
I wonder what would happen if a black player playing for England decided to sit out the national anthem in protest. Presumably as a defender of free expression and resistance to groupthink you'd leap to their defense?
-
Possibly, but not on the evidence of his finishing in the friendly a few days ago. Rolled one straight into the keeper's hands with loads of time and no pressure in the box.

Looks like only a handful of those tractors were built as prototypes. It's too much of a coincidence that the $3bn fortune attributed to ML was exactly what he'd have been worth if he'd kept his equal share in the Liebherr group of companies. As it was, MALI always looked comparatively small time, with nothing to suggest multi-billion dollar valuations. Which would explain why KL was so eager to sell the club - by the time ML's estate had passed through probate, a thriving premier league club was almost certainly the most valuable part of her inheritance by far.

Spot on. We should be picking these players up before they head to one of Europe's big four leagues. By the time they have a couple of good seasons in Germany, Italy or Spain, they're already out of our price range.

Unless you have specific criticisms of the assumptions behind the lockdown, you're going to have to do better than 'yeah, but empiricism'.

The numbers you're blithely throwing about represent an approximate doubling of the average number of deaths nationally. So no, they won't just 'hardly register as a blip', they'll stand out like the absolute human tragedy that they are. Moreover, why is it that cretins like you can't grasp the simple point that THE ONLY REASON THE NUMBER OF DEATHS IS SO LOW IS BECAUSE WE HAVE IMPOSED THE LARGEST RESTRICTIONS ON THE ECONOMY AND INDIVIDUAL FREEDOM OF MOVEMENT IN ALMOST A CENTURY.

Is this satire?

Lots of footballer/CEO comparisons being thrown about - interesting to note that the average PL squad member salary is roughly the same as the average FTSE 100 CEO compensation. So in other words, Jack Stephens earns more or less the same amount per year as the CEO of Sainsburys, a company with almost 200,000 employees.
-
Moreover, I think concert promoters are required to refund cancelled gigs & tours.
-
Even low to middling PL players earn about 1.5m a year. They're as well remunerated as the MDs and CEOs of medium-sized businesses. They'll be fine.
-
If your business is small enough that you can operate as cash only, or not cross paths with anyone issuing VAT invoices or anything else that creates a paper trail, you're probably not earning enough to make a real dent by skimping on your taxes anyway.

Why would Supermarkets be offering 6am priority entry if it was easy to turn up later in the day? There's a clue buried in there somewhere.

The seasonal flu has a vaccine. This does not. For that reason alone, even if the viruses were equally likely to result in respiratory issues, then you'd expect the mortality rate of novel coronavirus to be many times higher.

Big clubs usually go for players that have one (or if they're lucky, more) outstanding qualities, and unfortunately Redmond doesn't have any. He's a bit above average in most characteristics, but doesn't index enough beyond that for the biggies to take notice.
-
The fact that Tory and Republican governments in the UK and US are taking this seriously should be all you need to know. Under ordinary circumstances, those ****s wouldn't wipe their butts to avoid a few thousands unnecessary deaths. Spanish flu killed millions, so the idea that this could kill hundreds of thousands, if not more, is entirely within reason.

The Sunday Times - Southampton put up for sale at £250m

There are three types of fan on this site: 1. Those that know Gao has no money to spend and are annoyed by it. 2. Those who know Gao has no money, but take solace in pointing this out to others as if it should be reason enough not to be annoyed. 3. Those who know Gao has no money, but don't care as long as our crest continues to look a little bit like a man with a football for a head. -

If we can find a buyer at all. -
I don't think they worry about him particularly. I don't see defences playing especially deep to counter his pace, which leads me to believe that in the decade or so he's been in the league getting caught offside more often than not, most managers know that you can just play your usual line and he'll do the rest for you by going early.

On today's showing, Long creates opportunities for his strike partner by virtue of being so frequently off-side or shinning the ball into touch so often that the opposition defense are lulled into a false sense of security, assuming that somehow he'll cause every one of our attacks to break down. Really can't face another two years of watching him sh*tting all over our attack.
-
Because we are a small, slow, weak side. We literally don't have the physical capability to complete. We look like a bunch of yellow-socled midgets next to them.
-
Most annoying thing about West Ham is how many of our fans feel morally superior to them, even though they seem to murder us every time we play them.
-
You'd leave Long on? He's been absolute dog sh*t, as usual.
-
Yup, was a terrible giveaway playing a stupid square ball off the touchline under pressure. I never feel very confident in our close quarters one touch stuff - no real conviction in it, and always seems a bit lucky when it comes off.

Didn't Antonio play down the middle against us last time, or was that just where he ended up on the counter? Either way, on the basis that he absolutely bullied our CBs in the previous game, surely they'll just tell him to do the same again.
