  1. I have to agree with that totally, but fear the League have made up their mind that the -10 is fair and justified, even if it doesn't actually fit witin the letter of their rules. I would like to be reassured that this will not be be a deal-breaker, but appreciate that I'm unlikely to get that.
  2. The bold bit seems very certain. I seriously think we should respect this and leave Pinnacle and FL to sort it out. There is more than a suggestion here that slagging off the League might just antagonise them.
  3. Dream on.
  4. Common sense? Have you gone mad??? That would be far too sensible.
  5. Far too sensible.
  6. No offence, but aren't there enough threads on this, and hasn't it been done to death? And I'm pretty certain the answer is the FL themselves, so we'll lose. But they don't want the embarrassment of rejecting an obviously sound appeal, so we have to agree not to.
  7. I'm with that view too. Just as FL said SLH and SFC are effectively the same thing so could take 10 points for SLH going into admin, they will argue that SLH have not come out of admin with CVA so the same applies - hence -25. Even though SFC have paid all creditors. It stinks more and more. And I don't believe for a moment that the emergency meeting is for the FL to try to extricate themselves from the mess or agree a compromise. It will be to step up the pressure and blackmail, reassert their position and work out how many more deductions they can make. Saints are (were?) a big club, and if FL can put them down they are sending out a clear message "pour encourager les autres". There will be more clubs in admin, and they have to be kept in their place.
  8. Think, and hope you're right. He'll do for me.
  9. That would be very good. Please can we gossip, speculate, worship KK & MLT elsewhere?
  10. Offering to bale us out to the extent of £60B like they did to stop banks going bust. Very nice of him, but totally justified. RL gets a £600K pension too.
  11. For me, still Tisdale.
  12. Glad you pointed that out. Must do my waxing on Friday.
  13. I was born there But escaped
  14. I must admit I do hope this will happen now. I couldn't face the extensive egg-on-face if it all goes t!ts up.
  15. Not again !!!
  16. Shouldn't that logically be Northampton?
  17. Um... Thinks ??? What happened to Newcastle last season? Can't quite recall
  18. What exactly are you thinking of? DOF? On the Board? Ambassadorial? Boot boy? As DOF he could mesh in brilliantly with Tisdale. Now that would get me excited.
  19. Exciting times, but I'm trying not to get into hysterical mode. I'll concede that a big-name manager could do a lot for us - attracting players being the most imprtant, but also boosting crowds. When he came to us as a player he obviously developed a fondness for Saints and it was a happy and successful time. That had a lot to do with the whole setup of the club then, and for him to come now and be successful it is vital that the personnel and infrastructure around him are right. We've seen how things can go wrong with him in the wrong setting and without backing and support. My main concern is whether he still has the tactical nous from years ago and the drive and appetite if things don't go well. We havent seen much evidence of it in his recent appointments. But I'll stay positive and hope that, returning to grass roots and with backing, support and the love of a few fans, he can rekindle the flame. P.S. IMHO I don't think he'll come.
  20. Me too please? From worried of Shropshire.
  21. Sounds as if he may want to stay. With a manager who can kick a$$ an get him fit he could be good in D1.
  22. -10 (which I see the BBC have now given us)http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/eng_div_2/table/default.stm = 59, which should at least be safe from going down. Some brave and fascinating predictions, though! Can't see any chance of promotion/playoffs without winning an appeal.
  23. Didn't Newcastle adore him? I'd love to think you're right, but remain very sceptical.
  24. I am surprised with myself to say this, but I totally agree with you 19. So many epople on this thread need to take the rose-tinted glasses off and stop living in the past. KK has lost his appetite for management and, I suspect, his bottle too.
  25. Agreed. I was a Pearson fan and see Tisdale as being from the same mould.
