  1. I guess we'll never know tbh.
  2. It's true, Burley is in the New Forest.
  3. Some are more efficient, of that there's no doubt. I believe the Honda is quite good economy wise. It's just a shame that in every other way the car is a dog. That said, they're actually very simple engines. No variable valve timing or anything like that which we take for granted on road cars nowadays. It's simply the lightness and balance of the internals which allow it to rotate so fast, plus the semi-precious metals used for the components allowing it to burn so much fuel.
  4. Less fuel is a massive advantage, if you make it through to Q3 and have a chance to challenge for a front row position. Obviously both drivers cannot have exactly the same amount, else they'd be pitting on the same lap, but most teams share the choice of fuel load equally. It was also strange today that Heikki had 5 more laps of fuel in than Lewis. That made no sense at all when they could have really used a front row lock-out against the Ferraris. It's all quite odd.
  5. Hmmm, not according to one of the nicest blokes I've met in F1.... Helsingin Sanomat October 17, 2008 Shanghai Heikki Kovalainen "Lewis is an aggressive and an uncompromising driver, whose reactions can be fierce. And at times they have been excessive," says Kovalainen. "I've had to dodge his moves myself a couple of times, and I've made it clear to him that I won't be doing that indefinitely. If nothing changes, we're bound to have a collision between us at some point." For next season, Kovalainen is also calling out for a different attitude towards him from his team. "It doesn't take a rocket scientist to see that, barring one instance (British GP), I've had a heavier fuel load than Lewis in qualifying." "If you want to have a shot at the championship, you have to qualify in the front row. Even after a good qualifying performance, I'm starting in 4th, 5th or 6th. That doesn't help your race at all." Now, just to be absolutely clear, I've nothing against having #1 and #2 drivers in a team, in principle, but McLaren have always been absolutely resolute in their claim that Lewis doesn't receive any preferential treatment. Heikki seems to think differently.
  6. The correct answer... lol I think the FIA must be sweating over this one. It may come as a surprise for me to say I'm not Lewis' biggest fan, but he was flawless today and he has to be given the credit as Heikki managed to make the McLaren look quite ordinary. Fernando's overtake on lap 1 showed him up completely and was the move of the race (except Massa's blistering overtake of Kimi).
  7. See above. Every team would and has done it. It's a team sport and that's how it should work IMO. I wouldn't expect any different from us, Macca, Ferrari or Force India.
  8. Also unfortunately, ITV cut it out of their broadcast. It went; Q: (Jerome Bourret - l'Equipe) Lewis, what's your opinion of Ferrari's tactics to switch position between Kimi and Felipe? LH: There's not really much to say about it. They're a team and I know, if it was in my position, if Heikki was leading, we would probably do the same thing. It's playing together as a team and they obviously did a great job.
  9. In the post race PC, the journalists tried to make a big deal out of it. Unfortunately for them when they mentioned it to Lewis he agreed that he'd have done exactly the same thing with Heikki if the situation called for it. In one sentence he repaired a lot of the PR damage he's done recently. Unfortunately he opened the PC with "God was on our side".
  10. StL, they already did something similar at Hockenheim and, for the record, no-one involved in the sport has any issue with it. It is a team sport after all. Neutering team orders is a bit like telling your strikers that they can't pass to a midfielder if he's in a better position than they are.
  11. Also, at least Ferrari had the decency to wait until the penultimate race to decide on their No1 driver. Heikki was pulling over to allow Lewis past back in Hockenheim.
  12. I have more of an issue with people who say, "ovlusly", when they mean, "obviously".
  13. Of course, I was being slightly sarcastic Airbourne are an Australian band who've gone out of their way to sound exactly liike AC/DC. They've done a fine job too, creating the best album of the type since AC/DC's Back In Black. IMO.
  14. No, team orders during a race are banned. Team strategies are fine, and expected in those situations. Nothing out of the normal happened there.
  15. They sound like a rip off of Airbourne.
  16. Looks like Bobby K has blown it, but the stranger things have happened. Anyone got a few bob on a 1st corner incident and a Fernando hat-trick? No, nor me

The biggest compliment you can pay him is that similar accusations were levelled at Schumacher. Of course that may not be a compliment depending on your view of Schumacher's tactics.
  18. Re. Bargeboards; strictly speaking a bargeboard is the aero piece in front of the sidepod duct (as sporting the Becks logo in Arizona's avatar). The piece you're referring to is given the highly technical nomenclature "Plank", and the answer is pretty much exactly as Arizona said. It doesn't prevent the car running low, and there was a lot of bottoming out at Singapore and at Eau Rouge at Spa, but it gives the scrutineers a measurable way of determining exactly how low the cars are running, to ensure they're within the legal spec.

As I said, make of it what you will. It's curious how fans' favourites like Trulli, Glock, Webber and Button have all echoed the thoughts of the title challengers that Lewis' driving is erratic and dangerous.
  20. They just need to allow customer cars which are ineligible for WCC points. It would allow small budget teams to be driver focussed.
  21. You're getting yourself confused with me again.
  22. It's their whole point, and I don't think there need be any other.
  23. They're being different to the mainstream and that is the whole point.
  24. Striped jumpers do not equal personality.
  25. How can you tell if someone has any sort of personality from a photo? I meant to say that on the other thread but forgot.
