It’s not just those sort of crimes though, people are getting burgled and next to nothing is being done. There is obviously a balance between how much we can do and how much we are willing to pay - I guess some people are just tighter than others.

Not sure you've noticed but everyone is pretty much in agreement that serious crimes should be prioritised over minor hate crimes. I think you will find though that despite what you read in the Mail the proportion of resources used on these are relatively low, it’s just a side issue that’s highly publicised to get you gammons all frothing at the mouth. Surely we should have enough resources to deal with hate crimes, which are obviously on the rise because of social media etc, and also adiquely deal with other crime. Just accepting that police won’t even bother with certain crimes is a bit defeatist. I thought you Tories were supposed to be aspirational? Yet you are happy to let crime go unpunished for the sake of a few quid in tax.

As I said, we get what we vote for. This country chose to pay less tax and have fewer police - you just have to accept that some crime will go unpunished.

I'm friends with a fair few coppers and all they tell me is that moral is on the floor and resources are stretched to breaking point - it's a simple case of priotising the most serious crimes and leaving some alone. Agree, that's just as important. Some people seem obsessed with the Muslim thing though - don't seem to bang on about white Christian rapists quite as much.

From what I read the Police seem pretty determined not to repeat their past failures for this sort of thing, it's be so high profile. I guess you want a similar investigation into why choir boys tend to get buggered by mainly white, Christian priests?

I thought the original inference was that not bombing muslims would help, not stop it altogether. You are right, IS hate our way of life and we are all legitimate targets in their eyes. But they use the death and misery caused by Western bombs in the Middle East as propaganda for a reason. An extremist in the UK might hate our way of life (I'm sure there are quite a few) but there is a big difference between that and actually going out and blowing up innocent kids. Something has to make them think that these sort of barbaric act are justified and seeing Israel's treatment of Palestine or the results of Western bombs on muslims in the Middle East might just be the trigger.
