I wouldn’t have an issue with those either.
-
Some people think that the mindless minority are too many, I fail to see the harm in some footballers trying to make a difference. seriously, what is your issue with a bunch of lads showing support for equality? Where is the negative there?
-
Me neither, no harm in trying to improve things tho.
-
Think you’re missing the point somewhat, it’s not about proving anything, it’s about SHOWING you are against racism. The more people do that the more the racists among us will know that their views are outdated and unacceptable.
-
I hope they boycott the thing as well, BLM has never been about slavery though. Even if they don't surely we can all agree that any stance against racial inequality & prejudice, no matter how little, is a good thing though?
-
Not sure what your point is. There are plenty of LGBT people concerned about their rights in Islamic countries, likewise modern day slavery is an important issue. It doesn't make anti-racism campaigners any less concerned about racism in the west.

TBF, his post said he didn't know. -
The issue is racism, that's why our history of slavery is been mentioned. That doesn't make modern day slavery any less of an issue.

I'm being as sensible as you are. It's obvious to everyone that people making gestures like taking the knee are simply making an ant-racism gesture in response to what happened to in the US not subscribing to anything political. That's why all sorts of people and organisations are doing it.
-
Maybe go on the march then but put small print on your placard? BLACK LIVES MATTER* * This means that black lives matter but I do not agree with certain political ideas on specific websites affiliated to the Black live matter movement.
-
I wouldn't send them money if you don't agree with them.
-
I think their aims are clear. There are obviously people within the different groups with their own ideas of how to achieve those aims but by saying Black Lives Matter you are saying just that.
-
Black Lives Matter is not a political party. As well as just being a slogan it's also just a loose confederation of groups advocating for racial justice. Their aims are clear and the people involved had a whole range of political views. In the words of one of their activists it "encompasses all who publicly declare that black lives matter and devote their time and energy accordingly" Do you really think everyone who protests or takes the knee has the same political views?
-
I've always thought it was a bit too 'stating the obvious' but you can see why it resonates with people after watching that George Floyd video. I thought the most shocking thing about it was that wether the cop meant to kill him or not, his life just didn't appear to matter. Even when he knew he was being videoed, it didn't matter what happened to the guy under his knee. That's why I think it is important for people to show some empathy to the cause.
-
Maybe they just all agree that black lives matter?
-
It's great how the Football clubs, players and officials have all shown their support for Black Lives Matter. It's not just about being anti-racist, it's actually showing it that makes a difference.

So was driving to test eye sight also OK when we were under lockdown? The shameless bull****ting of this government is beginning to get Trump-like.
-
So yesterday Boris said the reports of him at Barnard Castle we’re all lies and now he was actually there but it was a test drive?
-
He test drove to Barnard Castle to test his eyesight.
-
At least now we know we are allowed to exercise our judgement, think a trip to my holiday home in Dorset is on the cards.
-
Probably after he helps write rules for the whole country to follow.
-
What what is already know he should be sacked. It’s important for people at that level of government to set an example, they cannot even appear to be breaking the rules. Besides, the childcare excuse is clearly bull****e the instructions to stay at home were clear.
-
Is kind of worrying that an unelected arsehole like Cummings appears to be so indispensable to our government. Regardless of wether he technically broke the rules or not (he obviously did), this whole affair looks terrible for the Tories and could have a negative effect on the lockdown and maybe cost lives. Surely sacking him and getting another advisor is a no brainer.
-
It’s getting embarrassing watching the government desperately trying to defend him now, they must be really desperate to keep him in a job. It’s obvious that he just didn’t want to be holed up in London for two weeks, the idea that his kid’s life was in danger is laughable. Thousands of parents up and down the country would have caught the virus and just stayed at home, he’s no different. People have made huge sacrifices in keeping to the rules, missed funerals of loved ones etc. No the people who made us stick to the rules are now saying we could have travelled the length of the country to see extended family all along, even if we were infected. No wonder people are angry.

To be fair, this all took place when the instructions were “stay at home” way before Boris’ comical ‘stay alert’ announcement.
