It’s all about context though isn’t it. If we lived in a country where white people were historically used as slaves, had suffered centuries of oppression and still today were a minority suffering from racial discrimination and abuse then statements like WLM and white power would have a completely different meaning. As it stands, where we are today, statements like that are not a call for equality, they are the opposite.

More “steer clear of the Israeli/anti-Semitic hornets nest because however innocent the gutter press will only ever spin it one way”.

Man dies, woman raped and three stabbed at party that had absolutely nothing to do with BLM shock: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-manchester-53040827

This was definitely a good move by Starmer. What Long-Bailey did wasn’t even mildly anti-Semitic but he needed to send the right message.

Just looks like the sensible thing to do, don’t want any statue protectors getting beaten up again. If the white power/statue lovers want to hold their own demo they would be better off doing it on another day to save any trouble - surely that’s in everyone’s interests?

Is he actually going to get a “big money move”? Got to be agent talk surely, he’s just bang average at best.

They are all factors of course, but so is the example set by the government IMO.

The United Kingdom and the Death of Boris Johnson as we know it.

The country is facing the biggest recession in history and we just spent 900k on that. -
The moment Boris got up and backed that laughable eye test story the government lost all credibility with their restrictions. How they can expect anyone to take what they say seriously after that I do not know.
-
They wouldn’t need to, they would just know that some gezzer who works for Boris completely ignores the rules and the government think it’s ok so why shouldn’t they.

I'm not sure what all that has got to do with the riot in Brixton though, I've only seen a small clip and there are clearly black and white people involved. Anyway, police tactics for these sort of things seem Ito have been quite passive for a while, since the 2012 riots there seems to be an element of let it happen, video it and arrest the perpetrators afterwards. Wether black or white I think anyone convicted from last night's disgraceful episode with get a severe 'example making' sentence. Just like many black and white people did in 2012 and any BLM/statue lovers convicted from those riots.

no, are you?

How can I be racist and nominated for the least racist poster award at the same time?

Blimey, it's amazing how much empathy you can show to people who are, most likely, white racists! Black people are far more likely to live in poverty in the UK, they watch someone of their race murdered on youtube by the police, are naturally angry and campaign for equality and all some people can do is cry about a few statues. The unconscious racism in some people is so so obvious.

No surprise some thick cunts think it’s a good idea. fair Play to Ben Mee for calling it how it is: “I’m embarrassed and ashamed at the fans bringing that out. They’ve completely missed the point. These people need to come into the 21st century and educate themselves.”
-
Brilliant! But in the interests of equality shouldn't you also post a version up for our resident racists? GAMMONOPOLY?
-
-
I wouldn’t have an issue with those either.
-
Some people think that the mindless minority are too many, I fail to see the harm in some footballers trying to make a difference. seriously, what is your issue with a bunch of lads showing support for equality? Where is the negative there?
-
Me neither, no harm in trying to improve things tho.
-
Think you’re missing the point somewhat, it’s not about proving anything, it’s about SHOWING you are against racism. The more people do that the more the racists among us will know that their views are outdated and unacceptable.
-
I hope they boycott the thing as well, BLM has never been about slavery though. Even if they don't surely we can all agree that any stance against racial inequality & prejudice, no matter how little, is a good thing though?
-
Not sure what your point is. There are plenty of LGBT people concerned about their rights in Islamic countries, likewise modern day slavery is an important issue. It doesn't make anti-racism campaigners any less concerned about racism in the west.
