The club have to draw the line with players leaving now, we simply can't afford to lose Schneiderlin or Lovren. We have plenty of cash, if they want to strike just let them and buy a replacement, if we keep caving in we are just going to open the door for others to leave. We should never have sold Lambert imo, that sent out the wrong message.

He credited the Ugly website so don't think there's any copyright issues. -
Typical, can afford a full page ad with the change he found down the back of his sofa yet can't be arsed to write more than 5 lines. Sorry Adam, actions speak louder than words even if it is in 28pt Comic Sans, and it's pretty clear what you think of SFC and it's fans with the way you have acted - **** you.

Appalling show of grace from the Club and some fans

Agree with this. I would love it if all three of their careers go rapidly downhill. -
The quality is always sh!te. It doesn't matter what brand it is, they are all put together by 12-year-olds in China and shipped in at the cost of a few quid a unit.
-
I think even if we buy well there is a fair chance we will struggle. We don't know how the players will react to Poch leaving, Koeman might not be up to the job, players take time to settle and gel as a team. For a club like Saints in the Premier League it is a very fine line between mid-table 'success' and a relegation battle.
-
I dunno. In the space of just over 6 months we have lost our chairman, manager, almost the entire coaching staff, key attacking midfielder, talisman striker and England international fullback. Our best defender has handed in a request and best central midfielder looks like leaving as well. We could spend the money wisely and improve but I would bite your hand off for a 17th place finish right now.

Adam Lallana and Luke Shaw sales; Good or bad?
aintforever replied to Saint TJ's topic in The Saints
Getting what we did for Shaw is good business but selling Lambert and Lallana bad. -
That's different to paying your a long serving and probably best player top money. If you think there is not big differences between footballers wages at all clubs you are deluded.
-
Probably, I expect fans of all clubs have an opinion. My opinion is that players know what they can earn and it's counter productive for them to know there is a low wage ceiling at Saints.
-
I think that's nonsense, if anything the fact that you give some players a high salary will act as motivation to the others. It's that sort of thinking that was Lowe's downfall.
-
This. Lallana was vital to our team.
-
I'm not sure what your point is. KL obviously didn't want to spend what it took to fulfil Cortese's Champions League dream (£100-200mill min), you can't blame her for that. Cortese jumped ship because he didn't fancy the alternative and left us where we are now. It's pointless moaning unless we have another billionaire lined up willing to lose a few hundred million.
-
Don't think they wanted him, got Ozil.
-
I don't think he's a hero, like I said he was the first rat off the ship. But I think he would have shown a bit more steel when dealing with clubs like Liverpool. At the moment we just appear to be bending over and taking it.
-
Just say no, simples. I have no doubt that Cortese wouldn't have even answered the phone to Liverpool over Lallana.
-
Anyone who doubts that we are a club in crisis now is living in dreamland. Within the last 6 months or so we have lost our chairman, manager, pretty much all our coaching staff, our captain, best striker and key defender. Our best centre back wants out and now our best midfielder. The spine of our team has been ripped out and we don't know if anyone from chairman down has the talent to run the club and make the right decisions. Finishing 17th next season will be a very good achievement IMO. We are floundering.
-
The only reason Cortese left is because he knew what is happening now was going to happen, it was inevitable. He was the first rat off the ship.

"Saints have been willing to do business as they believe a fresh wave of young players are ready to come through the ranks and see the coming season as the first in a new five-year plan. Owner Katharina Liebherr insists the club does not have to sell but reckon the likes of young striker Sam Gallagher, midfielder James Ward-Prowse and defender Calum Chambers are the next generation of stars. They see England U19s starlet Matt Targett as a ready-made replacement for Shaw." If that's Reed's cunning plan put your house on relegation.
-
If he's under contract then we should keep him regardless. We can't rip the spine out of our team and have any hope of staying up IMO.
-
This is getting ****ing daft now, the board need to nip all this in the bud. If Lallana goes then the rest of the squad need to be told to forget thinking about any move.
-
Liverpool told a bigger, richer club to 'fark orf' when Suarez wanted to leave and almost won the league. Plenty of clubs do it. you tell the player no, they sulk a bit, then come the new season be professional and carry on performing as normal.
