Poll: Is liking the chairman important to you?
aintforever replied to St Marco's topic in The Saints
I couldn't give a monkeys if the chairman is likeable or not. I do care about the decisions they make though because it effects our club. I don't subscribe to the opinion that nothing else matters as long as we are bankrolled to success on the pitch. -
Pathetic. Just a talentless journo desperately trying to make himself popular with the local meatheads. He hasn't even got the ability to write in paragraphs FFS.

Britain has to be up there with the best of them. Problem is people tend to focus on the negatives ad forget all the good stuff. Likewise many places seem great when you are on holiday but it would be a whole different story if you had to actually live there. Greece is fantastic when you are lying by the pool drinking beer, probably not so great when you live there and can't get a job. I love the Caribbean climate but it wouldn't be that enjoyable if I had to work in it. Sweden was very good but I doubt being there in Winter would be much fun. We are very lucky to be in England when you think of how many sh!t holes there are around the World where you don't know where you next meal is coming from or you live in fear of your life.

Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council's Children Services Team

I was amazed to hear about this on the radio but I can't believe that the f*ckwits are actually trying to defend the decision. As usual there will probably be no one sacked over this. As with most cases in the public sector, "lessons will be learnt" and the whole department from the top down will go into self preservation mode. -
Newcastle and West Brom at home are games where you should expect to pick up points.
-
But he still had to pull the club up off it's arse. Because the takeover was so late we were behind from day 1 even without taking the -10 into consideration. We had money but money doesn't buy you time. Adkins inherited a settled side of Championship/Prem quality players, his job in League 1 was way easier than Pardew's. I'm not taking anything away from Adkins, what he has done has been exceptional, but looking at the players Pardew brought in he did a good job and his sacking was harsh.
-
They are there for the taking. Anything other than a win would be a poor result Sunday.
-
Nigel Pearson gave Lallana his first team debut.
-
Poor results but given that we were only a few games in and just smashed Bristol City 4-0 away I think Pardew is right to think his sacking was harsh. His sacking was just down to a clash of egos IMO.
-
We lost one league game.
-
Adkins seems like a really decent bloke but you are completely wrong about Redknapp, he has done sh!t loads for charity.
-
Oh dear, now in the bottom 4 with two nice away trips coming up at Coventry and Tranmere.
-
It is bonkers that it is 2012 and there are still people around that think having boobs and a muff means you cannot do a job. I think the church is just a bunch of weirdos worshipping fairytales anyway, this just confirms it.

I don't know why people are getting in a flap over a blog like this. It's just a nothing article written by someone obviously struggling for news. The Echo can write what they like, it doesn't have to be positive. I couldn't give a monkeys if the club are bad payers or not. What annoys me is the fact that the Echo have to resort to writing sh!te like this. if the club had a decent relationship with the one local paper we have then we could be reading an interview with a player, or the club's plans for a 50,000 seater megadome. Instead all we get is boring negative stories and all the club gets is bad PR just because one person has thrown his toys out the pram.

I expect they mean the fastest selling kit ever for Southampton FC est. 2009.
-
"Exeter City are currently the highest-placed side in the Football League that are mutually owned by supporters" Yeah, and this time next year they still will be.
-
He could stop doing things that have a negative impact on the club?
-
I don't see anything wrong with that article, it's a fair point. As for the Echo's agenda, it's the same as it always has been - to sell newspapers. If the club had a decent relationship with them you wouldn't see articles like this. It's a product of the club's retarded PR policy.

Craig David: My Team - The Saints (The Sun Newspaper)

I remember hearing him say that on the radio, think it was during the 2006 World Cup. He was asked who he supported and said something like "being from Southampton I should support them but I'm a Chelsea fan". -
But the palestinians don't have their own country and are forced to live in intolerable conditions dictated to by the Israelis. They have every right to be aggrieved.

Pahahahaha. You f*cking nutjob. -
The games where you generally pick up the most points is against the lesser teams at home so the Wigan, Swansea and Fulham games could cost us. You don't write off any game but there are games you target as the ones you need to win. Drop too many points against the likes of Fulham at home and you find yourself at the end of the season having to beat teams like Man U to reach your points target.

Playing a kid in goal is far from ideal. I think we made a big mistake in not forking out for a top keeper in the summer.
-
I think Gazza is a better goalkeeper, so does Adkins obviously.
-
I would rather go with talent.
