  1. Re-newed mine yesterday - got it in the post this morning! Can`t wait for the season to start!
  2. Anyone else remember this version? :- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1WDQLxQb7bc
  3. Corp:- "Nick Nack, the posts may have been pertinent but why include my name in everything you post. It does make you look like a freak. And no transfer gossip threads as I can't start threads. Easy enough for even you to grasp I'd imagine. However, if you're interested, the players we've been linked with over the last couple of days are: Nikola Kalinic, Croatian striker from Hajduk Split - £6 - 8M Victo Obinna, Nigerian striker from Inter - £5.5m Bafetimbi Gomis, French striker from St Etienne - no fee mentioned Christien Poulsen, Swedish midfielder from Juve - £4m" You`ve been linked with?? That`s it then. They`ll definitely be signing!
  4. Tim Burton seems to be putting his usual distinctive touch on "Alice in Wonderland":- http://www.empireonline.com/news/story.asp?NID=25384
  5. And he won't be coming back - will he..............?
  6. "Gobsh1te" apparently.
  7. Was there something shiny on the ground?
  8. TBF we can all sit and say "it would be better if they did this or did that" but we didn`t even know if we had a club or whether the employees had jobs until recently. We are where we are this year so I think that we have to accept that the system is going to be less than perfect through lack of time. Next year should be a different story.
  9. Solent reported this morning that he was likely to go for Kevin Dillon (skate connection??) and Wally Downes. Downes is a real "character" who got into a "spat" with Neil Warnock. Not difficult admittedly!!
  10. O.K. Tatanka, stop it now!! We have all got used to negativity on here over the last few years. We now have to get used to the "Brave New World" of positivity - at least for a while.
  11. Well, firstly I don't think that he should stand up and say "we`ve got plenty of cash. Now where can I spend it?". Secondly it makes sense to have a good look around and see whats available for "free". e.g., I seem to remember that Dean Richards was a free transfer. And thirdly I don`t think that AP has actually ruled out paying transfer fees if neccessary. I think that he is doing the right thing.
  12. For anyone interested in history, a couple of articles from todays papers. The first regarding a data-base of names of men who fought at Agincourt and the second a history of HMS Victory to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the laying of her keel:- http://www.dailymail.co.uk/debate/article-1201517/Ploughmen-peasants-boys-aged-12--Named-centuries-unsung-heroes-carnage-Agincourt.html http://www.express.co.uk/posts/view/115838/HMS-Victory-The-ship-that-nearly-sank-without-trace
  13. I haven`t got a twin sister. Must be somebody elses you played it with.
  14. Chicken breasts???
  15. 19C, I have no knowledge or interest in any medical or mental problems that you may have. I have every sympathy with anybody who suffers from these problems. My problem with you is that you deliberately make posts that you know will get a reaction, and in such a smug, antagonistic style that it is guaranteed to make certain that that reaction is somewhat akin to that of wasps in a nest when you poke it with a stick. If this is really how you get your enjoyment, then you must take the consequences - you reap what you sow. I personally enjoy debate and the honest exchange of views and can quite happily accept that my views might be different to somebody else, and agree to differ, but sadly you seem to choose views that are "anti-populist" on purpose. We have to live with the results of that and so must you.
  16. This only happened after posting!
  17. I agree with this post.Seriously though, I am not sure whether the exchanges on here are helping "19's mental health issues (whatever they might be)" or making them worse.
  18. So..... all of our problems are down to Wilde and Crouch, but the original relegation from the Prem was just an "occupational hazard". I see it all so clearly now. Thank God that Rupert had no involement.
  19. A quite reasoned and sensible post, but where I think that it falls down a bit is with regard to RL/MW bringing their own men in. Did ANYBODY have any confidence in JP/MW when they were announced?? I would have thought that even a journeyman but experienced manager would have been a better gamble than the one that RL took. The promised world of "Total Football" (and JP DID use that phrase in his first interiew) was the empty one that we all thought (although we did hope) that it would turn out to be. So whilst I wouldn`t totally lay the blame for the second relegation (although I would the first) at RL/MW`s door, the Dutch appointments were a big contributory factor.
  20. Indeed. A damned close-run thing.
  21. Sulaiman Al Fahim to complete Portsmouth takeover and save club from administration By Colin Wood Last updated at 2:22 AM on 21st July 2009 Comments (0) Add to My Stories Sulaiman Al Fahim is expected to finally complete his takeover at Portsmouth today – saving them from becoming the first Premier League club to go into administration. Al Fahim was last night given the go-ahead to finalise his £60m buyout after passing the Premier League’s stringent new fit-and-proper-person test. It comes just in time to stop South African-based Standard Bank calling in the administrators to reclaim an unpaid £30m loan. Flashing the cash: Sulaiman Al Fahim (left) seen here with Piers Morgan Bank officials are believed to have contacted Pompey on Friday to demand repayment by the end of this week. In a further twist it has emerged the Premier League’s checks have scared off the mystery backers Al Fahim had lined up. The investors wanted to remain anonymous but, under league rules, anyone with over a ten per cent stake in a consortium must be identified and undergo the test. This means Al Fahim will struggle to make any big-money signings.
  22. Almost as funny as this thread:- http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=288
