  1. Ah, but he did it for his own gain you see. He put "conditions" on his "loan" to make himself feel important, get a good return and wasn`t thinking of the club at all. The man is a shyster unlike RL who did a good job and is beyond critisism. All according to 19C.
  2. Nah!! He is just ingratiating himself with the locals.
  3. Misinformation will prevent 19C from having an "opinion".
  4. Do you really think that 19C will "put it to bed?"
  5. I have been thinking about this. I have been supporting Saints for well over 50 years. I have been a ST holder since 1975. I like to think that I am reasonably intelligent. I like to think that I know and understand much about Saints and their history, and for that reason I have come to the conclusion that people like 19C/Sundance/Scooby/Spaceman/Fire Fighter/ Flashman etc are really nothing but mindless trolls who get a mental erection by winding people up on an internet forum that, in theory, is a medium for like minded people to exchange views. I am sorry that it has taken me that long to realise this (it must be an age thing!) but it has finally dawned. 19C etc - just get on with it, if it presses your buttons. I have more constructive and life affirming things in my life to enjoy, rather than reading the bile that you post, hoping to get a "high" from it. You really are very sad. You "enjoy" Saints in your way, and I`ll enjoy them in the way that I have for so long.
  6. Told by whom? Was what you were told correct? Please don`t ever let facts get in the way of prejudice. Please explain why with other certain individuals it`s " it`s all in the past. Let it go." but with Lawrie it`s a witch hunt. I belong to a certain club and anyone that has performed wonders for that club is given life membership and short of a murder, nothing will blacken what they have achieved. Not at Saints obviously.
  7. Yes it does. Thank you.
  8. Another one to add to your hit-list then. Is there anyone involved with Saints (past or present) that you have something good to say about??
  9. Sounds like something that you would be an expert on.
  10. LM was manager here for 12years. He didn`t "just win the Cup". He attracted the top player in England and Europe to this club (KK was European Footballer of the Year when we signed him). We made 3 appearances at Wembley. We finished Runners-Up in the old First Division. He gave this club times that we can only dream of. It`s a bit like trying to tell people born in the 80`s how big The Beatles were. If you were not there, then you probably don`t understand, but this doesn`t change the facts.
  11. I don`t think that anyone is trying to canonise him, least of all me, but there has to be balance. Certain individuals on here are waging a hate campaign against him and that is not acceptable for a man that gave this club the greatest days that it has ever had. Whether you were around then or not doesn`t alter the facts. Lawrie deserves RESPECT.
  12. But you didn`t hear Frys interview or see the printed version in the Echo. How convenient.
  13. I completely agree. I don`t know why certain people ignore these fact and want to demonize McMenemy for their own agendas.
  14. Doesn`t take too long does it? Only on here would you get numpties disecting a complimentary remark in a live interview ("prem quality stadium, prem quality training facilities and prem quality fans") and turn it into a negative. Grow up!
  15. So you know for certain any terms that LC may have put on his "benificence", or are you making assumptions to fit your own views?
  16. It goes back to what someone (UM?) said about delivery. I realise that the printed word can appear to have a different meaning to the spoken one, but to me that first quote came across as smug, arrogant and antogonistic. It may have been factually correct but goes back to "if you are not interested, why post on this thread?"
  17. If you have no interest, then that`s fine, but why post negative things on a thread that was started for the sole purpose of letting people who MAY be interested in what LM has to say if it was not to get a reaction? If you are not interested ignore the thread. It is hardly a controversial thread is it?
  18. You were doing quite well with this post until the last line. Incidently, unless I missed it, I didn`t see your response to Mark Frys interview where he said that Leon Crouch saved the club by putting his hand in his pocket. Has your view on LC changed or is he still a canker eating away at the club?
  19. For someone not trying to get a reaction, you do seem to end up in a few arguments. Personally, I find your anti LM stance a bit galling. I am lucky that I was watching Saints when for the 12 years that LM was in charge and he gave times that we can only dream of nowadays. I am not going to list good time because they are well documented, but as far as I am concerned unless LM murders somebody, he will always be welcome at the club and have his say. He deserves a certain amount of respect for what he has done for this club, not snide sniping remarks.
  20. They do, however, make a big play (no pun intended) of being proud of having an SO post-code and have many anti-Skate "promos" so you would think that Saints would be a major part of their content, especially as they broadcast from SMS. Perhaps they are still finding their feet and negotiating.
  21. The problem is that there are a handful of posters who put across "opinions" that they know will cause a "reaction", and it is done in such an authoritative way that it makes you believe that these posters are never going to be in a position where they could, or will, ever say "I`m sorry. I was wrong there". Sadly, or maybe not, I believe that you fall into this catagory. SOME people call them Trolls.
  22. +1. I think that this should focus the mind on our attitudes to old people. My dad signed up when he was 17 in 1939 and spent his youth fighting for this country against the Nazis. He didn`t have a "youth" like people today and spent it wondering whether he would make it to the end of each day. He was an ASDIC operator, locked away at the bottom of his ship, knowing that he stood next to no chance if they suffered a hit. All of these deserve our gratitude for giving us the things that we freely enjoy today.
  23. Who saw you? Was it Sundance Beast??
