Ref allows play to continue with Brighton attacking....they could have scored. Ball eventually gets to Saints goalkeepers hands. Ref then turns round goes back, and books the Brighton player! If he's booked him I assume it was a foul, so why no free kick to Saints originally? Am I missing something?? Other than us having yet another useless ref??"

I find this sudden, belated "Love-in" with Puel amazing. Having been watching Saints since the mid 50's, his season with us was the only one that I, along with 1000's others, didn't bother to stay for the traditional end-of-season "Lap of Honour" with the manager and team. Someone else used the word "turgid" to describe his football. It was generally painful to watch. He hasn't exactly set the world alight since he left.

The difference is that Branfoot came across as an extremely dislikable person. I couldn't stand him. He was probably the only manager to be booed by his own fans at a Wembley Final (the ZDS). Ralph is very likeable and who obviously loves his job here and the club. I haven't seen any protests to get rid of him or any booing of him.

The same Lyanco that so many people on here said should be in the team a few weeks ago?

Sadly (or not?) this is the business model that the Club adheres to.......find young gems cheaply, turn them into stars and sell them for big bucks. To a degree, in our current financial position with the Club being self-sustaining, it has to be the correct path to follow.

Also worth remembering that Broja is on loan and not really part of long term plans. I suspect that there is very little possibility of us signing him long term.

Anyone who genuinely thinks this needs to give their heads a wobble. Someone needs to do a video of his Saints goals.

Quite often, those people who write people off too early, are not big enough to admit that they were wrong if the player comes good, and will keep knocking him. IMHO JWP is a good example.

I seem to remember that when we were about to sign Jhon Viafara the the general reaction on here was very negative, I also seem to remember that he became something of a terrace favourite in the end. It's a bit old-fashioned I know (but then I am a Miserableoldgit with the emphasis on the "old"), but I like to think that the management/recruitment staff have done their homework, and then watch the new players play in the team before making my mind up.
