  1. Sometimes??🤔
  2. Perhaps the fairest way would to play postponed matches without players signed in the January transfer window?
  3. "Former Chelsea and Manchester City goalkeeper Willy Caballero is set to land a permanent contract at Southampton. The Argentine put pen to paper on a deal until only January 5, by which time injured duo Alex McCarthy and Fraser Forster are both expected to be back fit and ready to play in the Premier League. "It would make sense for us to keep him and we have this in our mind to extend his contract. I am sure he will help us long term. "There is a big chance he stays with us." "He is absolutely a good guy, it also shows on the pitch that he can help us" "He's played two games and, especially against Palace, you can feel that he is getting better with every game, more confident. This is what you need when you step in as a new goalkeeper."
  4. I know that there is another thread on this somewhere but I can't find it.
  5. Aha....thanks....
  6. Thank you Chris Whitty.....
  7. Is there or has there been a presser for this game?
  8. I see what you did there.....
  9. OK.....now that the title of the thread has changed...... Firstly, we had (and still have) the inability to tell the difference between "of" and "have", as in "could of" instead of "could have". Then we have people who can't differentiate between "there", "their" and "they're". More recently it is "our" and "are" that seem to be giving people problems. The latest issue seems to be the difference between "then" and "than" that trips people up. Is it that our language is too difficult for people to grasp, or is it that they just can't be bothered? As long as you make yourself understood, the rules of the language don't matter?
  10. "Nothing happens.....twice...."
  11. A free Willy?
  12. Adam Blackmore @AdamBlackmore Southampton have signed Willy Caballero on a one month deal The 40 yr-old ‘keeper will cover for injured duo Alex McCarthy and Fraser Forster until Jan 5th
  13. This just came up on FB:- https://lm.facebook.com/l.php?u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.leicestermercury.co.uk%2Fsport%2Ffootball%2Ffootball-news%2Fproblem-plaguing-leicester-citys-season-6304646&h=AT2OjWd4vkAM7b0SRFYVXW2yK8F6YK6Z6szxEEmmh1jdTP924F1eATi5eFrqKF-1jOYoYwaHbTYTrJKRNzbzHhxMyXv3gExdKyfMQz1QruZTdwc2jxR0w2EqlNbjbu7qGI8Mk9Ohuxd-VHYIlA
  14. "Willy Caballero set for Southampton medical tomorrow ahead of signing a short-term deal following injuries to Alex McCarthy and Fraser Forster. The 40-year-old Argentine has been training with AFC Wimbledon to keep himself fit and key figures at the club acted quickly to wrap up a deal on Sunday. Caballero was keen to join as soon as he heard about the opportunity and one of the key attractions for Southampton was that his style will fit into the club’s goalkeeping playbook."

  16. I did post this in the match thread....perhaps here would have been better:- "How do you explain this? Saints player fouled in centre of pitch and stays down. Ref allows play to continue with Brighton attacking....they could have scored. Ball eventually gets to Saints goalkeepers hands. Ref then turns round goes back, and books the Brighton player! If he's booked him I assume it was a foul, so why no free kick to Saints originally? Am I missing something?? Other than us having yet another useless ref??"
  17. From FB:- Reports: Southampton are weighing up a move for former Man City and Chelsea goalkeeper Willy Caballero to solve their crisis. The 40-year-old veteran is a free agent since leaving Chelsea at the end of last season after rejecting a new contract from the club.

  19. Stephens available apparently......Bendarek out. Forster Injured.
  20. I may be wrong, but I think that the Chinese Government changing their rules about taking money out of China really put us in this position..
  21. I assume that this is happening at half-time. One or two on here will be spitting feathers!! "Former Southampton manager Nigel Adkins will be the latest recipient of the ‘Forever Saint’ award in recognition for taking the club from League 1 to the Premier League in successive seasons. He’ll be very deserving of this award 👍"
  22. Yeah, but no, but.....
  23. Ah, but you are talking facts and statistics. They don't matter...
  24. I find this sudden, belated "Love-in" with Puel amazing. Having been watching Saints since the mid 50's, his season with us was the only one that I, along with 1000's others, didn't bother to stay for the traditional end-of-season "Lap of Honour" with the manager and team. Someone else used the word "turgid" to describe his football. It was generally painful to watch. He hasn't exactly set the world alight since he left.
  25. The difference is that Branfoot came across as an extremely dislikable person. I couldn't stand him. He was probably the only manager to be booed by his own fans at a Wembley Final (the ZDS). Ralph is very likeable and who obviously loves his job here and the club. I haven't seen any protests to get rid of him or any booing of him.
