  5. Well this game looks to be a fire snorting monster...........what time should penalties kick off so I can set the alarm to tune back in
  6. If you don’t have a player like Mitrovic in your side to channel your energies through, then instantly you have one hand tied up behind your back.
  7. Chinese whispers
  8. Having watched most of it yesterday then, highlights and comment on MOTD, the overriding factor is the levels of fitness are not good enough. There were comments when Hughes was at Barcelona that he was pretty poor at training, whilst I was in the happy camp to give him a go especially as the one thing we looked like we needed was the team getting a kick in the pants and he seems to have the demenor to do that, the niggle in the back of the mind was the Barcelona attitude. Yesterday when Redmond nicked the ball and was off up the pitch and no bugger went with him was astounding and shocking. Another observation and this probably also points to a lack of fitness, on more than one occasion Yoshida, who always reads the game well, felt the need to come forward out of defence as Fulham surged forward in the vain hope of pausing them enough for his lacklustre team mates to get back in support. Can’t get up the pitch fast enough to support an attack, can’t get back fast enough to defend. Everyone knows that to play and maintain a pressing game you have to be damn fit, when Poch was with us Jack Cork said to survive one of his training sessions you need 2 hearts. As for persisting with Charlie Austin as everyone says he is a passenger, there was one moment when he got the ball, controlled it and laid it off to another player successfully, the fact that I can recall it magnifies just how little he did for 78 minutes. Obafemi might be green but he was more of a threat in his 17 minutes on the pitch, one thing is for certain, when Redmond tore up the pitch on his own, young Obafemi would have been there as an option.
  9. At least Obafemi might get a greater shout at a game.

  20. I would imagine that he is the one who blocked the pathway for Harrison Reed. .........and before anyone says "but Harry Reed ain't Premier League quality", Clasie was never a box of fireworks in a Saints shirt, came in for quite a few quid and stuffed a not too shabby 5 year contract in his pocket. Reed already had more PL experience, Poch trusted him, trusted him enough to help close out the game v City on a memorable Saturday night. Far more dynamic player than Clasie, just needed a bit of polishing. As mentioned before, Peter Crouch wrote a very true piece after Loftus-Cheek took that recent CL game by the scruff of the neck "If he had cost Chelsea £35m he would be playing every week". The acquisition of Carillo for £19m, even us dumb saps who sit in the stands went "who?!" "really?!" especially after seeing his less than sparkling CV. Slipping Birmingham City £5m to buy Gallagher out of his loan would have been a damn sight cheaper and less of a risk. Certainly a bit of a grim read
  21. Hope so because he is about the only one capable of getting on the end of Cedrics high altitude crosses over the 6 yard box.
  22. Is he the lad on the rolling contract because of it?
  23. Exactly.......I have stood next to folk who if compared on paper are viewed as vastly more intelligent that me, put us both in a practical situation and you would think it was the other way around.
  24. As a season ticket holder - I was disappointed not to have received this survey, as like many others who did get it I would have enjoyed giving reasons for my negative scoring. In more recent times the club has commented that the Football on the pitch is the primary product of Southampton FC. We all know the primary product has been faulty for the last couple of years, I just love the fact that some numpty who generating these surveys and signing them off for publication is totally oblivious to the fact that renewals for next season are looking like a major disaster. Any idiot knows if your product ain’t right you ain’t going to sell a lot. These inane surveys just show we have a certain type of special idiot dreaming this stuff up. Anyone get the one on Saturday night? “How were you greeted at the stadium?”!!!!!!!!
  25. That’s where the obscenity of it lays.
