Late home listening to Radio 5 after the footie, nearly home and Kelly Cates tosses a comment made by Paul Ince earlier, into the Man Utd postmortem phone in - Sponsored by Kleenex - ince reckons the interim gig is perfect for Hughes and Bruce working together as a management team!!!

There were almost riots the length of Archers Road when that clown got given Frannies number 3 shirt!!

Thought I heard directly from the horses mouth in an interview that compared to Saints fortunes of late Alex was pretty happy with his lot: kiddies, England appearance, new contract. Probably some stuff and nonsense probably overheard while we were casually wafting our way to the bottom 3 and possible exit strategy's were being discussed at St Georges Park. "Oi Kenty we need a short snappy filler for a gap, got something that no one in general will actually notice? and those that will care, well there won't be enough of them to worry about"............. "just don't even think of submitting that piece about The Queen due to announce a day of national mourning for Manchester United not having a manager in the middle of the season".

Huddersfield v Saints - Build Up Thread
John Boy Saint replied to Yorkshire Saint's topic in The Saints
We could let a couple of them make a guest appearance on here, couple of sound observations about us -
Hard one really, but at last Cedric has a challenge from a lad who looks perfectly capable. Under Ralph and his analytical football if he is willing to learn Valery could thrive very quickly, if Cedric responds to the new mans techniques we could be very spoilt for choice. It could then come down to pace and the opposition. I would give Valery another spin v Huddersfield, rest him v WH if Cedric is fully fit, then bring him back for City. I thought him, Bednarek and Redmond made a tidy right sided trio on Sunday...........................but once again how pleasing it is to have viable competition in that position. You never know Ralph might give them both a go Cedric left Valery right.

Huddersfield v Saints - Build Up Thread

That was the position as of last Saturday morning Cedric, Hojbjerg, and Romeu (amazing considering how few minutes he has had on the pitch this season) are all one card away from a day off. Bednarek, Armstrong, and Long got their names taken yesterday. The cut off is final whistle of the West Ham game I believe -

There is bound to be someone far more adept than me at lifting an image to post on here from the Daily Mail https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-6501277/Southampton-3-2-Arsenal-Ralph-Hasenhuttl-earns-win.html The lead photo of Charlie Austin heading the winner, has a blurry JWP warming up on the touchline also rising to nod it home, just thought it quite funny. -

Agreed I think he did extremely well yesterday, ok he lost his man in the build up to their first goal, but then we have seen the vastly more experienced Cedric skinned by lesser players. When he saw the ball out under pressure at the end of the game, voices around me were going "no not there, thats not the place to be doing that", when the ball went dead the cheer that went up from the Northam must have taken away all the aches and pains he was feeling from a full game against a very good side. Even a blind man could see what a difference Ralph has made in a week, intelligent young players like Valery being given his chance are going to thrive in that kind of environment. How many times have folks been calling for a viable challenge to Cedric, no doubt Jan is the kind of competition he needs too. -
Interesting that when Redmond got lumped in the first half, he was the first one warming up just in case, then only joined by Long a couple of minutes later

nope eating bread and jam tonight - claims he flushed sixty notes down the pan on today’s game. -

That’s why we will all be able to spot Whelks thieving Posties as they will be the only ones with 4 pints in front of them or big eyed and wet nosed from being totally beefed up on a Bovril overdose.

All my Dutch friends said when the Koeman brothers were with us that Erwin was the tactical brains of the partnership, but his management skills were miles behind Ronalds.

I doubt a man of his calibre would have walked into the pudding that Saints have become with his eyes firmly closed.

Errr he hasn't much helped himself in that regard. Just watch back the first goal against us away at Wolves, Wolves player steams down our left, 50p feet Wesley is straining every sinew in the vain effort to cut out the cross, the cross for the goal is made...........oh who is this lolloping casually into the box enjoying the Autumn sunshine our "Captain" Mr Bertrand. I sometimes meet someone who has a contact inside the club, at the end of the Puel season Bertrand made no secret of wanting out of Saints, but no one came knocking for him. In fairness to him he didn't pull the toddler tantrums like a few other players wanting out have done. The fact that Danny Rose and Ashley Young got to go to Russia ahead of him emphasises how half aR$ed he had become. Wouldn't be surprised if making him Captain this season was a plan to hopefully get him motivated back to previous levels and at the same time subtly sticking him the shop window.

Does remind you a little of the Knackered old Players last pay cheque destination that the Dell became - Thinking of Players like Barry Vennison possibly Kerry Dixon etc. all brought in under a bit of a fanfare...................kick the tyres and the rear view mirror fell off, start the engine and a puff blue smoke came out of the exhaust with a cough and a splutter. To be fair though Ings should never had started that game, with hindsight probably showed that MH was already under pressure behind the scenes that he decided to throw caution to the wind.

Panic Ye Not!! Small print has it expiring on 16th December.........................if it stays chilly like now be nice if they rustled up some Gluhwein to get into the proper Austrian spirit Hic!

Well I like this Ralph Chappy already - he has bought me a drink before the game as long as I am in earlier than 30 mins before kick off to use my voucher!! ....................oh hang on he's trying to get me sozzled so that I don't notice that nothing has changed!!!!!

Maybe being a Saints fan of many years, has hardened me to expect hope turning to disappointment more often than not. Many times this season (and some last) performances have momentarily given hope, only for them to be dashed by lack of application. Ralph seems to have the chat to stiffen the application, its whether the players have the ability to apply it, as the degrees of separation between success and disappointment are not quite yet a chasm that can't be bridged. The answer to the OP should be easier to answer once Christmas is done.

Hasenhuttl to leave if saints get relegated?

Heard the same -
I thought it was a loan leading to a guaranteed purchase, although you would hope that there was such get out clause built in but that would have been most likely built around his previous injury. Trouble is we basically "ran the engine with no oil in the sump", he picked up the current injury during a matchday warm up. Yet regardless of technically being someone elses property, instead of looking after it we pretty much abused it so you could pretty much apply "Nice to touch - Nice to hold - If you break it consider it Sold!".

Blimey!!!!!!!!! Bit drastic!! Most folks on here are happy with [insert managers name] OUT!

Ahhh my heart bleeds for the poor hard done by little souls - if true. Not!!
