When I left for work this was on page 1 I have now come home to a 21 page. runaway Train. For those of us who don't fancy ploughing through 1030 posts at the time of writing ( which will no doubt have the usual Troll bun fight over a few pages in the middle) Is there any chance of a Saints News summary of today's events for those of us just back in the house. Thank you in Advance. JBS

Struggling to get excited by our league campaign
John Boy Saint replied to bender's topic in The Saints
2nd season Syndrome has always been a factor through the years, Reading did the not being able to cut the mustard last year at first time of asking (which has followed history), West Ham surprisingly you could have seen them consolidate this year, but then their negative style of play that seems fit for a division between the Championship and Premiership looks like they could be the sufferer of second season syndrome. We have pushed on and are learning some lessons, our recent wobble has stuck us on an Island where 8th is closer than 10th. With the resources at our our disposal our journey to the top league seemed pretty easy, so appearing to just be bobbing around is probably seen as being dull after the adventures of previous years. If Ramirez and Osvaldo had made the same impact as quickly as Lovren and Wanyama then we would more than likely be riding a little higher and right in the mix. -
I am amazed he didn't spontaneously combust in that first half

£30 million for for Luke Shaw should we take it?
John Boy Saint replied to modern matron's topic in The Saints
If they can pay £30m outright without blinking, tell them to stick £20m on that price and we might consider a discussion. -
Luke probably gave the Lino a bit of deserved chirp, because from my seat it did look a bit cheap.

Made no secret of having enjoyed Christmas and New Year with his family this year when speaking on Solent, I think the Vodka line might be spot on and straight out of the freezer too, so long as it isn't Tatra Mountain wedding Vodka: NASA wouldn't touch that stuff. Very good to see him back.

I have to say he looked a bit keener today, maybe someone gave him a bloody good kick up the backside for trotting off the pitch before being subbed last Saturday. Mrs JBS reckons he's carrying a bit of timber. hopefully the potential will be realised at long last.

He was not at his best, how the hell did he not book Anelka (I think) for Scything down Clyne as that was just as bad as Dejan on that little s**t Long, Dejan was rightfully in Webbs ear. Sian Massey had a wobbly few moments second half which was out of character for her, not helped by Webb over ruling her decision on a clear corner for us when she had the better view. There were a few decisions today that would have a cynic thinking the Referees Union has closed ranks where we are concerned following the Clattenberg cobblers.

Old Basing in Ampshoire, a pleasant little Village. It would have been even more pleasant if Oliver Cromwell hadn't laid siege to the place then smashed it up before moving on: bloody Oik!! Come On You Cavaliers!!

Some folks must be going as there is a queue online round to the Kingsland-Northam corner! -
In light of what was going on in the Duggan case they were possibly told to only shoot them in the legs or just wound them. Armed Police in this country are very well trained and regularly assessed marksmen, so even in the heat of the moment they are pretty certain of where exactly the bullet they fire is going to hit. There was a radio piece a few years ago from an American Hospital and they were talking about gun crime and injuries, a Senior nurse said about 2 young gang members who had come in both with gun wounds from horsing around, "one of the boys with tears running down his face said" "Ma'am I didn't think it would hurt this much" Like she said people have got use to seeing Bruce Willis and the like being in films and TV shows being shot and still running 2 blocks to catch the perpetrator, in reality that does not happen: you are shot and injured the shock and pain, even if on Narcotics, will see you unable to move very far if at all.

Man United as well as apparently telling their players that if the fail to reach the Champions League for next season they will get a 25% pay cut, Have made no secret of the fact that they are supposedly sitting on a £100m transfer kitty, we all know the drill Man U are looking at Charlie "just change that 1 at the beginning to a 2" And we aren't going to flag up any targets we may have, when you have situations like Willian having a medical at spurs then getting snaffled up by Chelsea, even Diego Forlan all those years ago flew into London enroute to finalising his move to Middlesborough and was "kidnapped" at the airport my Man United.

What, joy, another South American midfielder to replace a Striker doesn't make sense. 192 games 23 goals I expect many of us could shoot that efficiently from long range with both feet. I thought thats what we need a bit more Clyne long range shooting rather than pit-pat round the goal we favour so much, when reading the Wiki doings on him then the scoring record showed up and I would be quite happy to see Nathaniel light a couple every week. Like that Chelsea have £12m plus Demba Ba on the table. So he must be good.

He didnt lash out! El-Abd wrapped his legs round Rickie to stop him getting up, whilst still both on the ground Rickie went to push him off and that cheating little scumbag made out like he had been punched by Mike Tyson, and Numptie D'Urso got his revenge for losing his Premiership status at SMS after losing count of the number of yellows he had given one Blackburn player a few years before. If Rickie had lashed out at him, we would have missed El Abd trying to wind up Andy Carroll v Liverpool in the cup, being sidestepped and landing flat on his face with no-one near him to get the blame.

Poch to leave at end of the season?
John Boy Saint replied to jasoneuelllfanclub's topic in The Saints
That would be 25 pages by lunchtime, 10 pages obviously would be full on Troll war with the odd keyboard sniper taking one or two out if they faulter, it will then fizzle out by page 35 (just after lunch on the second day) only to be bumped 20 minutes after the final whistle last game of the season and allowed to yo-yo up and down the 1st page of The Saints like a Whores drawers, until the close of the summer transfer window. This Sauce of yours when did they say Messi would sign? -

£12 To stand in a shed to watch Basingstoke Town in the Skril Conference South league at the Camrose ground, or £20 to sit in a stand, the majority of which will be out of the rain, with a good view to watch Premier league v Championship in the FA Cup. Its all over priced but by comparison not a massive mickey take, like £40 was it to watch Chelsea from behind the goals. Eastleigh is £12 too, Bashley out in the Forest playing in the Southern League is £10, Luton Town in the Skril Premier £18. -
Only Saw the Pen this morning on the news, first viewing Pen- replay - Penalty. and the free kick for Sunderlands first goal we have seen them given all day long apart from when Rickie is involved. Be interesting to see what Moyes gets for his straight out moaning about the Ref post match, he sounded like a man who knew the Refs favour the Prem Darlings and was smarting from not getting the favourable treatment that goes with just being Manchester United.

Can't blame him if true, personally I think it's a shame as he is not as bad as folks make out, his problem right now, aside from Jose gelling so well with Dejan, is the lack of games which is making him rusty. If it wasn't for the confederations cup last summer he would have probably been paired up handsomely with Dejan. As last season he was the intelligent defender when paired with Jose, which had him play out of his natural position, and Jos.

Oops must have slid past that: best pop on the Morons hat then.

Off his backside!! While Holt was whining about a blade of grass in a red and white shirt slicing off both his legs at the other end of the pitch. -
I'm surprised Augustin Delgardo and his personal shopper Chalala or whatever his name was hasn't git a mention on this thread. Always had a niggly injury with us but a trip on a plane back to Colombia was the miracle cure to always be ready for the national side.
