  1. There’s no single line where the coast “finishes,” which is why designated planning areas are so useful. In planning terms, the coast ends where marine processes stop being relevant. That means areas no longer affected by tidal flooding, saline intrusion, or coastal erosion fall outside coastal planning frameworks. Southampton qualifies as coastal because it sits on a tidal estuary directly connected to the Solent. It’s covered by Shoreline Management Plans and Coastal Change Management Areas, which are designed to manage risk from the sea. London, by contrast, is inland. While the Thames is tidal through the city, it isn’t exposed to marine erosion or shoreline retreat. That’s why London is managed under fluvial flood zones, not coastal ones, and doesn’t have designated CCMAs.
  2. I don't know when you degree was from but It sounds a bit like astrologists still calling Pluto a planet because it feels familiar, but it hasn't been recognised as a planet for years. Definitions evolve. In planning and geomorphology, Southampton Water is a coastal estuary, and its management reflects that. The presence of river mouths doesn’t negate its coastal status.
  3. No London is not on the Coast hence why there are no Coastline Erosion risks from the government. London, London | Shoreline Management Plans Southampton has coastal erosion plans Southampton, South East | Shoreline Management Plans Southampton is situated on an Estuary, London is situated on a river.
  4. Huh. ? Strictly speaking Southampton is very much on the coast. It's how we manage to have a port.
  5. Why do people still fail to check twitter accounts to see if they are kosher? Ones like this, are WUMs
  6. Not saying he won't be good, and we definitely need a big DM in the vein of Wanyama or Romeu, but finished article is what someone is at their peak. I want a good player with no upper limit when given top class training facilities. Good to start with. But with lots of room to improve.
  7. I think the clues on the term "21 year old" Championship clubs don't generally get "finished articles"
  8. Isn't this like rating Christmas at 5am on the 25th December?
  9. We played a short game before the Brighton friendly. can we get the poor first half out the way, by playing 45 minutes before the Watford match starts?

Its the principle of International managers destabilising players. Not how the player currently fits in the team, or how well her plays.

🤦 Yes. That's the point. Get Still to challenge him to play in a way that shines a spotlight on himself, makes him self stand out with worldies and makes the manager look like a dick if he doesn't pick him. Also makes the manager look like a dick for making Suguwara move.

I fancy seeing Still challenge him to play into the Japan squad while at Saints to be fair.

If it wasnt for a top class save in the Wrexham Game we wouldn't have had the three points. are we now re-writing history from a Fortnight ago?
  15. I don't think that is a bad temporary move. Kayi Sanda is a VERY promising CB but we're overloaded there at the moment. Stephens, Quarshie, Edwards, Wood, and Harwood-Bellis are all in front of him. He's obviously far too good for our U21 side, Red Star have a couple of CB's injured so he can make a the position his.
  16. there are 129 points still up for grabs. So its still mathematically possible to finish on 133 Points. (Even Burnley lost 3 games when they broke 100 in 22/23)
  17. I think this is on the money.

I'm pretty sure that there is a 3 next to the P on the league table. Was everyone seriously anticipating we go through the season unbeaten? We lost one game because we failed to take our chances People need to get a grip

Stoke manager was obviously talking out of his arse when he said we had a fantastic squad. What do this people who get paid to do football for a living know.?

Certainly no change from the bedwetters who cant even be patient enough to wait until the Transfer Window finishes.
  21. My word isn't everybody having a hilarious meltdown. We had a testing start and know that there's another week to go. We missed Quarshies pace in chasing the ball back. He has to start over Wood. We'll need to get some left back cover in on loan as Weli didn't look good. We need to be faster on the ball. Both Stoke and Ipswich had too much time and ability to leverage Charles out of the game. FFS two years ago we lost 4 on the bounce at the beginning of the season, and Still's a lot more proactive in play than Martin was. Lesson learnt, let's take it out on Norwich on Tuesday.
  22. Against Ipswich, THB had a far worse game than Quarshie. Quarshies height in the box as well as Downs or Stewart will make it a lot more difficult for some to defend corners. Quarshies throw will be a lot more effective with a tall striker on the pitch. I see zero reason to drop him.
  23. Dont know why people are surprised about Suguwara leaving. He's obviously the player who doesnt think he'll make the World Cup playing for a Championship Club, (which is true as he'll struggle to make the team.) Welcome Mads
  24. I suggest if Southampton have any such players with such backwards views they'd be out of the club pretty quick sharp. If any person of any religion can't mix with any other person of another religion in this country, they shouldn't be in this country.
