LMFAO. I didn't read any further than his crass opening line so never saw his statue gem!!!!! I think we ould be likely to get a punch bag type effigy, where people can take out there frustrations after a home defeat. Or maybe even an eternal flame to lighten up the dark periods whenever we think back to the dark days at the end of his two tenures.

With the PLC going into Administration there are affectively no longetr any shareholders!!!!! Additionally the Idrectors of the Football Club are appointed by the PLC, which is now in the hands of the administrator. They are no longer at the Club (although nothing can stop them from making a reappearance in the future, although I doubt they will).

I posted that early last night when I was told that only Jones would be around today. I think there is also a precedent regarding Aviva (norwich Union) as I'm sure they have renegotiated their det wth other clubs before (notably Ipswich, which somewhat upset their rivals Norwich, considering Norwich Union were involved!!!!!!). So much will depend on whether anyone who comes in can renegotiate our debt position. Otherwise I fear for our future.

Give it a rest you fool. If you think any Saints fan (apart from the odd nutter) are really taking any pleasure from the state we find ourselves in, then I can only conclude that you are really out of touch with how the majority are feeling. Any sense of relief that Lowe may finally have gone is far, far outweighed by the worries and concerns regarding the perilous state he has left us in. You sound like a spoilt brat ging off in a tantrum. The mods would do well locking this pathetic thread and asking some to reopen it again with a normal post regarding Wotte's position (as whilst it is a relevant subject, it could do without the pathetic opening gambit from the OP).

Yes,early evening yesterday from me;)

Whilst there may be a chance that the PLC structure might save us a points deduction, you seem to be forgetting tht when we moved to that way of working in 1996 there were no rules regarding points deductions following administration so it was never on the horizon. It's just an accidental by product of our current status and decision to circumvent Rule 34 (and that's assuming we get away with it). Come and see me in the Itchen South (block 10) this Saturday and we can discuss this like adults and have a chat about Lowe's second tenure ending in abject failure
-
I'm sure none of them are perfect, and I'm sure they have probably all made their fair share of bloopers, mistakes and poor decisions, but when held up against Lowe's record, then I have to say their failings pale in to insignificance when comparedto his record of poor decisions over recent years. You won't get any semblence of balance or rational thinking from Manji on this subject though.

If someone from his legal team was listening to the show then they would have their hands full with Dennis, his sidekick and some of the callers and texters, given what was being said on there tonight!!!!!!! Williams having to ring up to try and sort any monies owed was playschool stuff compared to what else was being said !!!!!!!

It's not lost on me and even though there are rumours of people circling the Club, if nothing comes off then as you say we really will be in the sht.
-
I could almost agree with you, in that had we not appointed Wigley (and perhaps not even got rid of Sturrock), then things might have been different. No guarantees and also no reason why the alternative had to be Hoddle.
-
Actually, we would have been relegated in 2007 if Hoddle was appointed. I know that for a fact.
-
I would say there's loads of doubt with that statement:rolleyes: Whilst there have definitely been mistakes made during the two years Lowe wasn't around (e.g. Thomas and Euell in 2007 etc etc etc), they pale into comparison with the mistakes made, and the cost of them, whilst Lowe was in control at the end of his last sojourn and in this latest ill fated escapade. The tens of millions lost following relegation crippled this Club to a much greater degree than any of Hone's & Wilde's & Crouch's mistakes in those 2 years. And then of course there is this season, whereby any possibility of slowing trading oursleves out of the mire was seriously compromised (if not undermined) by the decision to go with a Revolutionary Coaching Set Up. Whilst many should take their fair share of blame for the demise of this Club over the last 4 or 5 years, there can also be no doubt that Lowe stands head and shoulders above all others at the front of the queue.
-
In which case you fall into the same lazy trap as the Professor as the overwhleming majority of those who oppose Lowe do so from a sensible, rational and well argued position. To suggest otherwise is rather insulting to the vast majority of rational supporters who hold this view.
-
2 or 3 weirdos do not provide a platform to tar all those in opposition as being a part of a mob etc etc etc. A sledgehammer to crack a few nuts is a phrase I coined a while back.
-
So much will depend on the position of the debt, but I do feel the disappearance of the major shareholders might make it easier for a buyer to come in (from both a price and a negotiating position). Whether these buyers firm up is another thing and whether they are the right ones is also a different argument (but we probably are in a beggars can't be choosers situation!!!).
-
And personally I have never understood why people fail to comprehend that the vast majority of those who oppose Lowe do it from a rational, objective point of view after judging him by the results of his tenures and articulating their opposition in a fair and reasonable manner.
-
Lowe is up there on a pedestal when it comes to the root cause of our demise. He presided over the initial relegation that started the ball rolling and the appointment of the Revolutionary Coaching Set Up this season (as no one will convince me that that was not his idea) and the debacle that it turned out to be puts him way out there in a league of his own. Others have to take their share of the blame including Wilde and the others who backed him, along with the Execs poor decisions in the summer of 2007, but Lowe's poor decisions are the ones that have really hurt us.
-
Ties in with what I have heard on the grapevine. Understand Lowe and co have effectively stepped down and administrator will be hawking the club around anyone interested in buying the Club.
-
I hear Wilde's gone!!!
-
Says the man who blames our current plight on last season only and conveniently glosses over this farce of a season and the continuing fall out from watching your revenue fall by something like 75% following the fall from the Premiership. Methinks you need to face reality sunshine, because this is not another failure that Lowe can pin on someone else.
-
I am led to believe that Lowe, Wilde and Cowen are no longer at the Club in any capacity and the administrator will be calling the shots (think Jones may be there as continuity) going forward. The PLC will be in administration and the administrator will be looking to sell all assets, including the Football Club to any interested parties. If a buyer can't be found, then things may well start to look somewhat different!!!!!! No real ITK, just pieceing things together from various snippets.

I have no information one way or the other, but have to agree that maybe, just maybe, people should be prepared to substanitate the claim that Lawrie sold a large tranche of his shares not long after flotation. I have to say just because some "senior posters" have said so, it certainly doesn't make it a fact. In fact, I have always wondered just whether it was true or not, so perhaps it would be good to some evidence as opposed to just hearsay, so as to prove it one way or the other.
